First thing to know is it is cash only but there's an ATM onsite with a very low fee of $1 to use it (this fee could be $5 and people would pay so this was quite the deal). This pizza is everything you want in a good slice, greasy in the best way, good amount of flop and structure, crispy airy charred crust and of course the cup'n'char pepps are mint. Highly recommend a side of the garlic sauce for dipping. Plenty of seating inside, public parking lot across from it and extremely clean washrooms. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful & cost was super reasonable for the size of the pizzas. Worth the drive to the hammer!

I was honestly reluctant to dine here, since pizza normally is my least-desired cuisine, and, with former awful experiences at the restaurant that occupied this space before - I was so meh. Thank goodness I let them convince me otherwise! We were so lucky to snag the last few slices of what we wanted, since there were several big events nearby bringing thousands of people into the area. Literally, five guests after us were dinied slices! I was surprised how perfect the dough was cooked, and I really loved the spicy honey that coated the slices I purchased. Since Cowabunga was known for their "best slice in the world of 2024" I also had to purchase one of those T-shirts to honour the experience. There is a decent amount of indoor seating, but, in summer one should definitely sit outside. Tables move through rotation quickly since slices are most of the appeal, so you should be able to sit somewhere at any time.

We had to make a pit stop in Burlington so we came here to try this place…read more It is voted the world's best cheese pizza and we were curious to how good it was. The place itself has a take out and dine in area. It was quite busy during lunch hour. So best to avoid the rush if you can. The pizza itself was made from a sourdough, it didn't taste starchy to me. It was really thin and crispy, almost too well done, as it got really dry and cardboard like. We had the margarita pizza and the cowabunga pizza. They were both okay. The cowabunga pizza was too heavy on the gochujang, it was too over powering. The margarita pizza was good, it had spicy pesto on it. Quite cheesy. We couldn't leave without trying out the pizza slice. The crust was better than whole pizzas we got. But it was not overwhelming. The service was good. Our server was pretty attentive when he could. He even gave us a complimented slice.

Ordered over the phone, the woman who answered the phone had a hard time understanding what my order was, but she was still nice. Upon picking up my order I asked the gentleman to add a dipping sauce, he says "no, that's not included" I had to ask a second time so that I could get a dipping sauce fed to my bill. When I got home to open to the pictures included. The pizza was so thin that all of the toppings fell off as soon as I tried to pick a piece up. So I called to explain my frustration and without hesitation they told me the would give me a full refund if I brought it all the way back there. All and all, their customer service is decent but the food itself was VERY disappointing.

To my surprise the pizza tasted great. The toppings were fresh, red sauce not too salty and not too sweet, applied in the right amount, cheese had good stretch which means they are using aged mozzarella. The crust was light, crispy, and had a nice brown on it, but a little on the thick side and could use more charring and chew. They baked the pie on a pan rather than on the oven, which is a no no. However, the taste of the pie reminded me of old school pizzas in Toronto. I will definitely come back for more if I am in the area.

I had a quick chat with Reza and Anna who were very proud of their product and explained how everything is done on premises from scratch - the dough, sauces, etc. They turned out to be owners of the place which explains the passion - an essential ingredient in cooking. Two concerns: with the price of $14-15 for a medium pizza the place is a bit spendy but you get what you pay for - and much, much more. Second - I would like to see regular forks and knives instead of the plastic ones - definitely not a deal breaker for me. I'm not coming to Kitchener too often but I will make sure to visit Rustic Slice again next time I'm there.
