the food was absolutely amazing, but we got there after shabbat, because the website said it was open, but it wasn't yet. when we got there, at least 30 minutes after shabbat was over, the restaurant looked closed. all the chairs were stacked and the lights were off. we had to wait for 30 minutes just to get inside because they said the rabbi wasn't there yet. there was another party waiting as well and we were all pretty unhappy. once we were seated and we had ordered, the food came out pretty quickly and it was absolutely amazing. the food was worth the wait in my opinion, but if you're going there after shabbat, call in advance to make sure they're really open when they say they are

Cozy place, tasty and healthy food, beautiful presentation of dishes I liked everything very much. The only thing I would like to improve is that the dessert is served with dessert utensils.

The place has a lot of potential but definitely needs improvements on the service. The person taking orders was very kind and helpful. But the team taking the plates to the table, are not representing customer service very well, so be ready on this part. Food is ok. Ambience is quiet and perfect for a nice conversation with friends.

I looked long and hard to find a place that had maintained its service and quality since COVID, based on reviews. We were running late to our reservation and called that we would be late. They were accommodating but asked us to be understanding if we need to wait a bit. They were able to seat us right away even though they had a number of large reservations. The waiter was very nice and seemed to know the dishes. After ordering, my wife received her salad which had hot peppers on top, which wasn't explained by the waiter, and my wife doesn't eat spicy. The server stated if you take them off, it wouldn't affect the dish... it did. The waiter did offer to take the salad back and recommended a salad that didn't really go with everything else. and reluctantly, my wife agreed. The salad was a Thai style chicken salad. Seems like it was a bit heavy on the nut sauce and simply too much for her, making her queasy. I ordered the cigars and the aged steak by the ounce and got a 25oz. The cigars were good but the steak was perfectly cooked throughout the entire steak. It was very thick, so Kudos to the chef for pulling that one off. My wife had ordered the lamb, which was very good but because she was feeling ill, she couldn't enjoy it at the time. It made for a good lunch the next day though. The overall experience was very good, but the waiter made a couple of critical errors, that cost them a star, or a star and a half even.

I put last night a very bad review about this restaurant (see pictures attached) about the restaurant was being closed when we went to celebrate our son's bdy and conforms our reservation and yet it was closed and we got notified 20 minutes after Today the owner called and apologized for it And invited us to eat there and to compensate us for it. So I guess apology accepted and we did eat there before and the food was delicious

We were very welcomed walking through the door. We were offered seating inside or out. The Floridians feel the weather is too muggy to sit outside, we were more than happy to do so. A word of caution, you are on a very busy street when you sit outside, so there is a good deal of traffic noise. To begin, they bring out a plate of four types of bread, along with a tray with green and black olives and a red tangy spread. This was quite good. We started out with an empanada appetizer. You have a choice of four kinds, we went with spinach. Before the appetizer arrived, the waitress brought out a plate of bread and olives. We are off to an excellent start. When the empanadas showed up, we were provided 8 cups of dips, six of which were different toppings to put on the appetizer. We tried them all. From barbecue sauce to salt, hummus, and a tomato based sauce, we had fun tasting the different flavors. For the entree, both of us went with the Outside skirt steak. We went this route as it was recommended by the waitress as one of their more signature dishes. We went with it prepared, medium. A short time later, the meal arrived, both of which were the 14 ounce portion. They do offer a larger portion if you're super hungry. The steak was slightly overcooked, but not enough to ruin the mood. The steak was flavorful, but a bit on the fatty side. I get the fat as it adds flavor so it really was not an issue. The meals come à la carte. So we ordered steamed broccoli and sweet potato fries. Overall good experience. A place I would return to again.

Bye Bye Houston's Aventura…read more I've been a customer of Houston's Aventura for many years. For a long time, my friends and I used to come here every Friday. Unfortunately, over time the service declined to the point where it felt like they were doing everything possible to make us uncomfortable and rush us out. Eventually, they succeeded -- we stopped coming altogether. After a long break, I decided to give the restaurant another chance today. That was a mistake. I ordered the Hawaiian Ribeye, and when it arrived, the meat was extremely tough. I brought this to their attention, and the manager came over and apologized -- but that was it. No replacement dish was offered, and the item was not removed from the bill. An apology alone does not fix a bad dining experience, especially at this price point. This visit confirmed how far Houston's Aventura has fallen. I live in Aventura, and I constantly hear people talking about how poorly customers are being treated at this location. Based on our experiences, my family and I have decided we will not return. Final thoughts: Houston's Aventura is seriously damaging its reputation. The service and food quality no longer match what this restaurant used to be or what it charges. If you enjoy this style of restaurant, I highly recommend J. Alexander's instead. Equal or better quality, excellent service, and outstanding food -- including thin, crispy fries like Houston's used to have, great artichokes, ribeye, and baby back ribs. Truly excellent. Bye bye, Houston's.

Dear Hillstine Management,…read more I'm writing to share my disappointment with our recent visit to Hillstine for a relaxing dinner and a birthday celebration, which unfortunately turned into a very unpleasant experience. From the beginning, we had an issue with the sun shining directly into our faces. We asked if we could either close the blinds or move to another table. The manager on duty, whose name I believe was Hanna, was extremely unhelpful and dismissive. She gave us a hard time about closing the blinds and refused to move us, even though there were clearly empty seats available. To make things worse, most of the blinds were broken. When we tried to escalate the concern, the general manager, Avery Colgan, didn't seem to care about what we had to say. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and disrespectful--especially disappointing for what was supposed to be a special celebration. I would appreciate it if someone higher up in management could contact me directly to discuss this matter further. I hope you take this feedback seriously so that other customers don't have to go through a similar experience.

This is nothing like Motek or Abbale, not even close. From the very first bite, my taste buds (and my expectations) were blown away. We came as a girls' night out, sharing plates and ordering "just one more dish"... and then another. The Truffle Wild Mushrooms Polenta was incredibly rich and silky, deeply earthy without feeling heavy. The Pappardelle Tomato was perfectly cooked, vibrant, and comforting in the best way. And the Cabbage "cacio e peppe"? Unexpected, bold, and absolutely addictive. The raw fish dishes were also a highlight, beautifully sliced, ultra-fresh, and paired with bright citrus, herbs, and crunch that elevated the fish without overpowering it. The grilled fish was crisp on the outside, tender inside, and plated with a smooth, flavorful puree that tied everything together effortlessly. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is a whole vibe. As the night goes on, the lights dim, the music comes on, and it transforms into the perfect setting for a stylish dinner that slowly turns into a fun night out with friends. Chic, warm, and energetic without feeling forced. I left wishing I had more room to try the entire menu, but happily signed up for their VIP rewards program (available to everyone), which basically guarantees my return.
