My daughter and I were celebrating our birthdays during the week of March 19-24 and Joey Aventura was one of our picks. As we entered, we were warmly greeted by the lovely Sarah, the hostess who presented both of us with a glass of champagne! That was a class act. We were also impressed by how beautiful the entry and the bar area were decorated in glass, lush plants, and darker woods 2 stories high with small lights everywhere. Very upscale, classy and romantic. We were seated in a very comfortable plush booth and were greeted by our server, Amalya, who was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. We planned to share a few appetizers and a meal. We ordered the Japanese Gyoza tray, which was delicious and satisfying. For our main dish, we ordered the Lobster Spaghetti and soon as we took a bite, we both said "Mmmmm!". It was very good with perfect seasoning and nice sized lobster pieces. Good pick. We added the HH Truffle fries as a side and they were extra special. We had a very nice birthday meal. Parking is close by in a huge parking lot. It is ADA compliant as is Joey. I highly recommend the sushi cone appetizer, it was my favorite. Turnaround time is a bit an issue here, you will be waiting at least 30 minutes for apps and 60 minutes for entrees. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a glass of champagne, which instantly set the tone. The atmosphere is beautiful very inviting, well-lit, and perfect for a nice night out without feeling too fancy. We also ordered the peach Bellinis, which were slushy and absolutely delicious so refreshing! We started with the spicy crab dip and sourdough bread, and wow both were absolutely delicious. For my entrée, I had the hibachi wings with truffle fries. Our waiter, Luis, mentioned that the wings were the spiciest thing on the menu and he was right! They had a great kick, but were still incredibly flavorful and honestly so delicious to me. My friend ordered the Joey cheeseburger and loved it just as much. Of course, we couldn't skip dessert! We shared the molten chocolate cake and the crème brûlée cheesecake, and both were incredible the perfect sweet ending to the night. Went catch up with a friend and also try a restaurant for Miami Spice before it ended. I made reservations and when arrived we were greeted with a glass of champagne before heading to our table. The restaurant was dimly lit which made for an intimate setting very cozy. Our server Dominick was amazing he checked on us regularly explained the menu items and was very engaging. I had an old fashioned which came smoked and my friend had the coconut smash. My drink was great. The other was not too my friends liking and Dominick was so great that he tried to make it better but it still was not to her liking. For appetizer I had the crab dip and she had the lettuce wraps. I can honestly the best lettuce wraps i have had. They are spicy so if you are not a fan I would not recommend. The crab dip was good but I would go back just for the wraps. For entré I had the steak and sushi. This was a really great dish the steak was cooked perfectly and the sushi was a great side even though i was full it was just the right amount. My friend had the crusted salmon. Which tasted great but I wasn't a fan of the crusted part. Finally we had the creme brulee cheesecake. I love anything creme brulee so this was good. Since you always save room for desserts. There is an upstairs with additional seating and another bar along with patio seating. They have priced bottles nightds and happy hours. The host, bartenders and servers were extremely friendly, welcoming... it was refreshing. Ask for Ashley she has great recommendations. I placed an order for my kids along with a few appetizers and let the waitress know I would put in the dinner orders shortly after. Unfortunately, she never came back to our table. We waited for quite some time and even asked three different staff members if we could order. Each time, they said they would get our waitress but no one ever returned. At that point, I was ready to leave. Then, a hostess (I assume) came over and asked if we were done because they had another party waiting for our table. I came here for happy hour and I loved it! The service was good and the food even better. Get the spicy crab dip and Szechuan chicken wraps that are perfect for sharing. The spicy crab dip has a kick and it's creamy but not overly spicy for me. There is plenty crab meat as well which is how it should be :-). The lettuce wraps were refreshing and very filling. Stopped by while in town and the hostess was very friendly to seat us where we can be served happy hour with the kids. I ordered their seared salmon sushi and tuna and avocado crunch roll, and both were delicious - melted in your mouth. My hubby ordered their Joey burger and it was good and my daughter enjoyed the Grilled chicken club. Their roasted corn guacamole was very fresh with goat cheese and their classic margarita was very similar to a Pisco Sour! Which if you've been to Peru, you know what that is. The ambience is nice, with dim lights, and music in the background. They have stairs to go up and an elevator. Highly recommend to eat here if you're in the area. read more

It has been a while since my last time at Joey, more than a while actually, it had been actually years. My last time was in 2022 at their Woodland Hills California location. This location has not been opened for too long, perhaps a year or so. Once I learnt they opened this location, I have been trying to come and see if it was as its sister location in California. I finally made it for lunch a couple weeks ago and my experience was good overall. I had the Mediterranean bowl, the katsu chicken salad and a spicy margarita. Let's start with my least favorite, the Mediterranean bowl. While it was good, not great but good, I think it was too pricey for what you get, specially the chicken portion. You would expect it would be a bit more generous for a $27 bowl. On the other hand, the chicken katsu salad was delicious. A salad without a good dressing is not a good salad, and this one had the perfect dressing. The chicken was nicely fried, so crispy and it didn't feel heavy or greasy at all. All in all, I would drive to Aventura just for this. I had their spicy margarita and it was refreshing and strong, so good. Looking forward to my return. read more

We went here for Father's Day dinner. We had a reservation and waited 10-15 minutes to be guided to our table. No big issue, they offer a complimentary champagne toast upon arrival which is nice. Our table was along the window in the main dining room. We had to wiggle into our chair to sit down and leave yet still managed to hit the people sitting behind us. The tables couldn't be moved. It was dark inside, which is prefect for an intimate date night feel. We had the Spicy Crab Dip, Sake Glazed Chilean Sea Bass, Joey's New York Strip and Spicy Margarita. The bread for the Spicy Crab Dip was burnt and had a chemical taste. The dip was delicious. My seabass was accompanied with greens, mushrooms and veggies, which was perfect for anyone on a diet. The sea bass was perfectly seasoned and cooked well. The Joey's New York Strip was cooked well done and we requested it medium well. The steak was mediocre and under seasoned. Hey, this isn't a steak house so that is expected. Their mashed potatoes are stuffed in what appears to be some type of egg roll shell. I think that was a very unique touch. The spicy margarita was superb. It has some heat but was perfectly paired with the sweetness of the passion fruit. Second visit to Joey's was for Happy Hour. I sat at the bar. Complimentary champagne was offered again. I believe that's their signature greeting. I had the Lobster Spaghetti accompanied with their Spicy Margarita. I really enjoyed that cocktail during my prior visit and had to have it again. The drink is also on their happy hour list that is offered at a discount, which is great. Check the drink out. You won't be disappointed. The spaghetti was delicious. My only complaint was the lack of seafood. Particularly, very little lobster chucks was incorporated in the dish. They had more cut up pieces of shrimp and that too was skimp. For $40 some dollars for spaghetti, I expected better. The food was decent. However, I believe the food quality is lacking for the price point. Our diner tab came to around $200. Happy hour came to $50 some dollars. The main dining room space is really small. They need to figure out the situation with the lack of personal space for the tables aligned by the window in the main dining room. Also for the price point they should automatically provide cloth napkins. I was not feeling the paper napkins. During happy hour staff was all over the place on their laptops, conducting meetings, interviews and talking. Looks like they may have limited office space. The bartender at the bar was superb and super attentive. The server during our dinner had to flagged down several times to refill our drinks. Will definitely be back but will avoid certain dishes. We were seated immediately and was able to order our food without a long wait. We ordered from the Miami spice menu(indulge in a 3course meal for a fixed price).
