Despite the good reviews on Google and Yelp, I was nervous to go, thinking about the tourist traps in Nice and the few bad reviews. Well, I'm here to say, this place was amazing. It was just what I wanted. Although I made reservations, it was not busy so I simply sat down. Ordered the Nicoise ravioli and cod with mussels and aioli. My husband loved the ravioli and my dish, man was I pleased. The mussels were literally some of the best above ever had. They were small and sweet and certainly not frozen. Ate aioli was also so delicious and my meal overall was so satisfying and delicious. One of the best I've had in my few short days in France. I also feel its important to mention the waiter, who was so calm and kind. I can't recommend this place

There appeared to be some outdoor seating as well in the street too. The server also seems to cook there, as he had an adorable little chefs hat. He was also helpful in explaining the different items on the menu too. I had the set menu, of which there are choices within three categories. For starter I had a seafood soup, which seemed to be from a stew of all sorts, principally mussel, but a little bit intense for my taste. The entrée was a nice little lasagna with a Nicois flavoured twist. The ice cream here can be chosen from several different flavours, it's not the best, but alright for what it is. Overall I'd recommend this place if you're feeling a bit indecisive about what to have like I was. J'ai trouvé ce restaurant en passent le long de la rue Pairoliere de la vielle ville. C'est un endroit petit, avec des décorations Niçois à l'intérieur. Il semble des tables dehors dans la rue aussi. Le serveur a porté une toque adorable, il était très utile pour expliquer le menu. Moi j'ai pris le menu fixe, avec des choix dans les trois catégories. Pour l'entrée j'ai eu la soupe, qui semblait un peu intensif pour moi. Le plat principal était une lasagna avec une saveur Niçois. La glace peut choisir parmi plusieurs saveurs différents, ce n'est pas mémorable, mais c'est définitivement une glace. Je le recommande si vous êtes un peu indécis pour le déjeuner comme moi.

The meal we shared: Aperol Spritz was good. Frites were Ore Ida shoe string fries. HERE IN FRANCE!!! The Calamari was a processed tube. Think McNugget. The entrecôte.... let's say the last salvo did not do much to save the meal. Top it with a waiter on speed... I am VERY familiar with this area. Like a native!!! Let me start by saying I did NOT have the bouillabaisse as everyone has suggested. It's a lot of food and as a solo diner, it didn't make sense. I did, however, have one of their suggested menus. I was completely wrong. Round 2 (the main) was grilled scallops in port wine and veggies on the side with a seafood mixed rice. The rice tasted good, but was lukewarm, the veggies and the scallops tasted frozen. The veggies were overcooked and the scallops undercooked. For dessert, I chose the ice cream instead of cake. The thing was sitting in a pool of rum, though was told it was a "hint". If you go here, maybe order what everyone else suggests instead of the other stuff. Clearly they do that one item well.

His response was "no, we don't like English people". At first I thought he was kidding and laughed it off, but it became very apparent he was not kidding. I was beside myself with how rude this man was and honestly he put an absolute negative affect on my feelings about Nice and the French people in general. The French have a bad reputation for being rude and while I've been there several times and 99% of people are perfectly nice, this was the most appalling behavior from any restaurant employee I've ever encountered. Needless to say, we took our business down the street to the most lovely restaurant named Leedy's. They were quite friendly there and we had the most amazing lunch and bottle of wine. So, if you're "English" please avoid this restaurant and take your business elsewhere!
