This Nice, France Restaurant and beach spot was absolutely amazing…read more I simply cannot express how much we all needed a day to just chill at the beach. After we had already spent a week in Belgium and a day in Monaco we were already exhausted. So luckily when someone asked does anyone want to go to the beach??? we leaped at the chance to relax on the beach oh yasssss beach please!!!! This beach spot belongs to the hotel that is just behind and across from the street is Hotel Le Negresco a beautiful old hotel. The views are gorgeous the beach is beautiful and the best of all is we got full on restaurant on the beach, the servers brought us menus so we ordered French Champagne Moet Chandon Ice Imperial, my favorite of all French Champagnes OMG lucky meeeee lol We had access to this amazing and beautiful restaurant we could either eat at the open air restaurant where they had tables with umbrellas or we could order food from the restaurant and they will bring it to you on the beach so you can enjoy your food and the gorgeous views ah excellent! So we had a beautiful salad with chicken and frites with mayonnaise as the French do lol And of course we greatly enjoyed our delicious lunch and French Champagne while loving that spectacular view. They have big white chaise lounges and they give you towels and each with your own umbrellas, that these darling boys would adjust for us as the sun moved, I love love loved it all. We ate a beautiful lunch from La Plage the Restaurant it was delicious it was Champagne bliss! This is not free obviously you're paying for the food and bubbly considering it came to a little over $350 per couple for Lunch and a bottle of French Champagne and personal servers so we were there the entire day around 5 hours of heaven on a beach in Nice France. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, I highly highly recommend you will not be disappointed I can assure you! À votre santé means to your health in français. Cheers ALL see you on Yelp Review 315 -06/01/23

Great meal in France!…read more This was a fantastic first dinner in Nice right off the main drag. We had reservation for 7pm and arrived a few minutes early. We waited a few minutes while they prepped our table and we were seated promptly. The vibe was cool, very French cafe feeling on the streets. The waiters were kind and attentive was you settled in. They patiently answered all our menu questions. We ordered the fois gras (because when in France), the duck and the octopus. All the food was excellent, the fois gras was perfect (although probably wouldn't order it again for ethical reasons). The octopus was absolutely perfect, very very easy to screw up, but they nailed it; every bit melting in our mouths. The duck breast was perfect, juicy and cooked to perfect. All the dishes were served with plenty of accompaniment. Great meal for a great French experience. Would highly recommend.

Maybe not fair for them, but on our previous night, the previous chicken dinner was 5 stars for her. I got the beef stew over gnocchi. Not bad, but even for a light eater, it was NOT enough food for me?!?! Got a glass of Bordeaux which was good, until I noticed the locals got twice as generous of a pour?!? The second time I noticed this while dining out... Happy for them, but to see the inconsistency affects me... Ambiance - Small local business/restaurant. Prime tourist location/area. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. One unisex toilet. Service - Welcoming. Made online reservations, but because we are NOT tech savvy, it booked the wrong time. So since we were in the area, we just walked by and asked them to change the time and had no problems. Price - 49 Euros, $57 USD. Expensive for what we got IMO. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success.

And then Yelp did the rest. The location is totally awesome! It's right along the shore, with a small boat dock nearby. When we came, the restaurant was almost empty, but according to the hosts the outside patio was completely booked ahead, save for two tables. Lucky us! From where we sat we were able to enjoy dinner as the sun set over the water, giving us its glowing orange goodbye for the night. Enchanting. 1. Eau 1L 6 EUR: We got some fancy bottle sparkling water. Came in a classy big glass bottle. Well, 6 EUR for water... what can I say? 2. Cafe 3 EUR: Don't remember how it tasted, but I'm sure it was good. 3. Amuse Bouche: It was some kind of mango salad? Was refreshing. Nice touch. 7/10 4. Menu du Terroir 42 EUR: 4a. Tartare de thon frais au Combawa et concombre, pickles de mini poivres rouges, pousses de salade, sauce yaourt a l'huile d'olive perlee au soja: So, it's a fish tartare. Feel free to google translate the rest. The plating was absolutely gorgeous!--I mean, truly stunning. Lots of colors--green, red, purple, you name it. The tartare was not the pounded type, but closer to poke formed into a brick. The fish was fresh, and the seasoning very light. You have to mix it with the surrounding vinaigrette to get more flavor. Overall maybe a little too light for me, but you certainly can taste the fish very well. 8/10 4b. Duo de poissons roti, ecrase de pommes de terre Agata au parmesan, fenouil fondant, tomates grappes et aromates: Two kinds of fish with cheese on top. Now, if you've watched the Food Channel, it's probably been pounded into you that cheese should never be mixed with fish, but here you have it--cheese topped fish. The grilled fish was absolutely perfectly cooked--grill stripes and all, and the skin quite crispy. Can't remember much of the other fish. But both tasted great. The were plated on top of some kind of vegetable medley, which I remember was quite good too. Very nice. 8/10 4c. Divers sorbets maison, fruits frais, tuiles dentrelles: Mmmmmm!--amazing tasting for both the palate and eyes!!! Totally beautiful!--again so many colors and visual textures. They got some fancy fruits in there too, complete with this one fruit that I've seen before but can't name--it's like a super sweet tomato inside thin leaves. I've never seen it in stores before, but my friend grew them. Anyway, lots of amazing fruits and sauces. Underneath it all sits a cookie-like pastry that crumbled easily. Tasted as good as it looked! 10/10 5. Bourride 45 EUR: So, this is their signature dish. The restaurant's named after this specialty from the Languedoc coast, after all, so I expected a lot. And to top it off, 45 EUR!!!--so it's hella expensive. So this version consisted of a whole gargantuan shrimp, head and all, sitting on top of fish. The bowl is filled with a cream-based light-yellow soup, with lots of tiny mussels. Not sure if it's typical for France, but the mussels really are tiny--about 1/3 to 1/2 the size of American ones. The soup kinda resembled ultra thin clam chowder, like the Hog Island version in SF, if you've ever had that, but unfortunately with a ton less flavor! It's served with ultra hard croutons and a special mayo-based sauce. We were told to dip the crouton in the mayo, then dip into the soup to eat. I dunno--the crouton was too dry to taste good to me, but their bread was awesome so we used that instead. Anyway, as I said, it was all sorta underwhelming. Not too much flavor or seasoning. Pretty disappointing, especially given that this is their specialty and it's REALLY expensive. I recommend to avoid, unless you must try this famous dish. 4/10 We really loved our time here and we were super glad we stopped here. It not only saved our night, it filled it with beautiful memories of sunset, beautiful food, and beautiful company. The service was fantastic, and they were really accommodating to our non-French speaking thoughts. Loved this place! 5/5 #french #france #seafood

The most beautiful notion about eating in France is that, it becomes a lovely and grand affair. Of course, this is dependent on where you go. I remember going in one night at night 7pm and not leaving till a little past 10:30pm. Now, I expect to dine like a true French lady whenever I'm in France! The menu is quite simple, with entrees stated like le bœuf or le poulet. Each with it's own addition and style, don't let the basic names fool you. Le poulet came with one of my favorite types of rice (basmati), and has this specialty curry sauce on top that was très délicieuse! Don't forget about the appetizers; they offer a great selection. The wait staff is also very knowledgeable on which wine to have with what, so definitely express your interest to try or have your questions answered. It's a lovely restaurant, with outdoor seating as well. But on those chilly Spring days, you can see the view of the Mediterranean Sea if you sit near the big window panes. And having a major sweet tooth that completes me, I can not recommend the crème brûlée enough! I had 4.

It has the added advantage of being right at the entrance to the town. To continue. The service is abrupt and not particularly attentive, but professional without grace. The food was very mixed. I had a delicious beef, carefully prepared and sauced, but one of my dining partners had a lamb which was tough and tasteless. The real issue that lowered my review score to just "OK" was the cigar smoke from the next table. it is bad enough to have to endure the lessening addiction of the French to stinking up their environment with cigarette smoke, but cigar smoke is beyond the pale. Nothing is as annoying as having a bite of perfectly prepared beef ruined by a cloud of stink from another table. A word to the restaurant management; If you can't see fit to ban smoking from the restaurant, then at least keep it to cigarettes. I would think any self-respecting chef would want his work to be appreciated without the smell of ash over-riding his creations.
