True Blue Auctions recently helped my sister and I settle our family estate after our mother could…read moreno longer live there alone. We both live out of town and had limited time to deal with getting rid of house hold things, and marketing and selling the home. Skip was a pleasure to work with from the beginning. His services seemed too good to be true. He sorted all of my family's things and sold them after we took what we wanted. He cleaned, staged, and marketed the house. He sold the house for a great price. We didn't have to do anything. Skip is honest and kind and does quality work. He follows through on all of his promises. We couldn't have been more pleased. What might have been a very stressful process, was quite easy with Skip's help. His company was a true blessing to us, and we would recommend him to anyone. Suzanne Fetter MD

What can I say about True Blue Auctions. Well they truly left me feeling blue.... I purchased over…read more$500 worth of items from the auction house on Feb 25th of 2024. Its currently Aug. 31st. He claims he shipped them. USPS tracking info never even registered it in the system. My items have never arrived. The owner refused to pay a refund. He hid behind his fine print in his auction rules. He refused to file an insurance claim on my behalf. (Shipper has to file the claim) He even stalled so long the insurance he provided on the packaging lapsed. So now its my loss, not his. I would say if you are considering doing business with True Blue Auctions and Skip, that you just move on to a more trustworthy and reliable auction house. Because True Blue Auctions in State College, PA is definitely not a auctioneer or auction house I will ever deal with again. Protect your money and stay away.

I'm in my mid 40s, and this is the first online review I have ever written…read more I won an auction through HiBid. They offer shipping. I contacted them to ask how to get the item shipped. They replied, asking me to send a check for the amount. They say they did not receive it. I replied that I was surprised and asked if I could pay another way. Rich replied that I wasn't making any sense and that they had told me before that there was no other way. First, no, they had not. Second, it's 2024 and they are using an online platform to conduct online business and offering shipping. In 2024, they are asking auction winners to send them checks. Again, in 2024. Checks. I'm not kidding. It was the first time in over five years of running my business and more than 300 online auctions that an auction house offering shipping using an online platform has asked me to write a check. When I pointed this out to them and said that it was not unreasonable to ask if there was another way to pay in 2024 to an auction house that is using an online platform to do their business, Rich replied by denying my ability to bid in subsequent auctions, cancelling my purchase, and saying that he doesn't have to do business with "people like me." So here you have an auction house who uses an online platform and who offers shipping saying that they don't need to do business with people who think it's odd to have to write a check and who would prefer to use a card or even direct debit. I ended up putting a stop payment order on the check. To his credit, Rich offered to rip up the check if it arrives. How gracious of him. If you are looking for an auction house to run an estate sale or some other auction need, and you are looking for somebody whose business practices are not stuck in 1988, look in another direction. This outfit is not with the times, and if there is a mail issue and the customer expresses some frustration with having to operate like Ronald Reagan is still President, you should probably pick somebody with modern business practices and an understanding of what it takes to be an online seller and shipper.

They don't have listings on Auction Zip anymore and when I passed by a couple days ago on 8/25/21 there was grass popping up in the gravel parking lot. Looked like it hadn't been used for a long time. Did COVID close them down? I live 30 miles south and don't want to drive all that way on a Saturday evening just to find out that they are no longer in business. When they did have listings on Auction Zip I did enjoy going and bidding on items. There were lots of "hidden" items that you had to poke around for in order to find before the bidding began.

The auction started out as most and continued along until she felt she wasn't getting enough money for the items. She refused to sell things which she had put online as being up for auction, saying the crowd was not spending enough money. I have been an online seller for several years and do my research before I buy. She was pulling prices out of the air, telling the crowd she would not sell some pottery items for less than$20 starting bid as she KNOWS they are worth at least $100 or $150. I know these pieces and have sold several. They sell for about $35. She became miserable and refused to sell more saying the crowd was not serious about buying. I have never been to a place where the owner put up a tantrum and stopped selling things that were advertised to be sold. This was definitely a first and last for me.
