But they have just about everything you'd want for athletic equipment, hunting gear, shoes, and active wear. This store has an especially nice and large section of Syracuse University clothing and memorabilia. The only major complaint is the checkouts. They are DESIGNED to produce long and ungainy lines. Even on a slow day, you're likely to wait 10 minutes to check out. This design does, however, make you feel like the only customer in the store when you ARE actually checking out.

Really nice display of taxidermy in the back of the store, with multiple species depicted. Stopped to use the bathroom and it was decently clean. They had a big "Clearance sale" banner up out front but the only things on clearance were clothes, no actual outdoor gear.

The store is large, abundantly stocked, and somewhere between neat and immaculate. Comfortably laid out, and easy to touch and try on merchandise, especially boots and shoes without having to have a clerk running back and forth to the back room (this is very important). The prices are generally excellent to exceptional, and lots of high-quality brands. I've occasionally seen retail prices this good (ok, rarely), but never in this combination of large, neat, comfortable store, exceptional prices, and helpful staff. Kind of like REI for apparel, with plenty of overlap, but leans a bit more towards work clothing than hiking/mountaineering/leisure. I can't think of a store of this kind in the entire state that is this good. Worth the drive from far away, especially as the cold weather season approaches. Helps you survive winters up here!
