You don't go to a doctor for the first time without calling and checking on the cost and if they accept your insurance, that's on you. There was one major difference this time, I was referred to THIS amazing surgeon! The staff, from start to finish and front to back, are perfect. I was so nervous and miserable but after my consultation I felt much more confident. They got my prescriptions sorted out and prepped me for what to expect on the day of my surgery (1 week, a very quick turnaround). The actual surgeon is the BEST medical professional I've ever interacted with. No exaggeration. On the day of my extractions he explained everything that was going to happen and really put my mind at ease. They knocked me out so efficiently I don't remember even feeling funny, I simply woke up with everything done! Leaving, I received a take home kit with all the info I needed, an adorable penguin ice pack to use on my jaw, lip balm to help with dry lips, and a device to spray medicine or saltwater on the extraction sites. They also called the next day to check on my progress. With the promise that I could always call with questions or concerns, our business was concluded. They have a mini fridge available with waters in the waiting room and a coffee station. Once called back, the appointment felt rushed. I had imaging done and then had a 2-3 minute interaction with Dr. Max. There was no discussion of options, risks, etc. I was prescribed an antibiotic and told to schedule the next two appointments for root canal retreatment. I was a bit disoriented. I did as asked but eventually cancelled those two follow up appointments and scheduled with a different practice with more time for patient care and education.

Meeting Dr. El-Baghdadi was truly a blessing. She is kind, compassionate, caring, and incredibly knowledgeable. After just one epidural injection, my pain was greatly reduced, and within 3-4 months, it was completely gone. I am so grateful for the care I received and the relief she helped me achieve. My reason for the one star is for their deceptive and apparent unnecessary add ons to procedures. I was told repeatedly that I had two crowns that needed to be changed. When I called to confirm my appointment, I was told that I was having an additional crown done at an additional $590 out of pocket cost to me. When I confronted Dr Ballis, I was told that maybe because of COVID masking, that I misunderstood. This is deceptive and a grab at additional costs at the expense of the insurance company and patients. Make sure you get everything in writing when you go to this practice. If you don't, you will find additional procedures and costs added to your file.

I shouldn't have even wasted a minute worrying. Tina scheduled them both at the same time. We arrived and off they went without even a thought. They did wonderfully (a completely surprise to me) and haven't had a problem going back. Yeah Laurie, the technician, and Dr. Ballis! The office looks unassuming from outside. But when you enter there is a grand staircase and lovely decor that greets you. This building hosts other offices as well. Dr. Ballis' office is soothing, with calming classical music playing in the background. (Admit it. Your dentist plays old 60s or 70s stuff. Right?) My husband has made the switch and we all have been very happy with the services Dr. Ballis does. I don't have any complaints and now I just need to get my husband to make his appointment for the Zoom teeth whitening. Can't wait to see that glistening smile.
