I found Dr. Konz via a web search for a "gentle dentist", as I had recently experienced a cracked…read moretooth and in infection. I was in a lot of pain. I did not have a dentist of my own, based on terrible past experiences. I was left with dental anxiety. Dr. Konz and I interviewed each other, where we both asked each other dozens of questions. She began to make me feel at ease. Given my past history, she really took baby steps with me, making sure I was comfortable the entire time. I have been seeing her since November, 2023 to correct a very neglected mouth. She has the vision and foresight to know how to correct my problems (crossbite and multiple broken teeth). She has an extensive range of professional colleagues for referrals, if needed (orthodontists, periodontists, and oral surgeons). My last appointment was a long 6 hours in the chair, and much of that time was spent laughing and sharing stories. (Who laughs and jokes while in the chair at the dentist?! Me, now that' I've found this fantastic woman!) Not only that, but her own professional staff is also second to no one. They are absolutely fantastic. From scheduling, referrals, chairside manner, billing, and KINDNESS, they are on their game. I feel so blessed to have found such a talented, caring, and professional team. Thank you for everything so far, thank you for your vision in the treatments to come, and thank you for educating me on the benefits and importance of complete oral health. I believe I've found my life-long dentist.

Dr Konz provides a very relaxed atmosphere for both routine cleaning and more complex work (she did crowns, caps, and fillings, too, plus one emergency re-adhesion of a crown that came loose). Her hygienist team is always friendly, appropriately admonishing, and when they discovered an issue, as discreet as possible until Dr Konz confirmed their suspicions. I miss that office. Great work.

I was referred to this dental practice by a friend several years ago. I have had different…read moreprocedures and was pleased with the work and appreciate the ability to have dental work under sedation due to a medical issue I have. Dr Potts is a very kind man. Unfortunately, my last few experiences have left me needing to find a new dentist. Several years ago I had a root canal done by a dentist who is no longer at this practice. A few years later, I was having pain in the tooth that had the root canal and saw Dr. Potts, he did a scan and found out that the root canal wasn't done correctly. He referred me to a specialist who might have been able to save my tooth. That wasn't going to work and I needed an extraction and implant. I was quoted $5,000 by Whitney at Lake County Family Dental, similar to what an oral surgeon would be, so I decided to use Dr. Potts as I knew him. When I went in to pay a few days before the procedure, they told me it was actually going to be $7,000. I ended up using them and paying the higher amount because I really wanted to get the extraction done as the tooth was bothering me. They ended up charging me $7,748! I didn't need all the sedation and they are refusing to give me a refund after telling me I had over $1,000 credit! After the extraction, I had a lot of bruising on my face, not sure what happened as I was under sedation during the extraction. It took OVER a YEAR to finally get my implant. Turns out this is not the normal time frame and had I used an oral surgeon, I would have had my implant much earlier and it would have been much less expensive. In the meantime, because I was only able to eat on one side of my mouth, I now needed a crown. This happened right as I was finally getting my implant. My latest experience was very painful and why I have decided to find a new dental practice. I needed a crown and decided to use Dr Potts, he did the temporary crown. I was in pain after the procedure and it got worse a few days later so I went in and saw Dr John Planisek as Dr Potts was unavailable. Dr John Planisek said the temporary crown was too high and this was common for crowns done under sedation. He filed it down and said I'd have some pain for a few days but it would get better. That was not the case, the pain got worse and I was not only unable to eat anything crunchy, like nuts or carrots, but I could only chew on one side and had trouble drinking water and eating soft foods as well. My jaw hurt if I yawned and I was getting shooting pains at random times during the day from my tooth down to my jaw and up to my ear. It also hurt in the middle of the night and I'd wake up several times each night due to the pain. I went in and saw Dr John Planisek again, this was about 2 weeks after the temporary crown was done. He said it could be due to a few issues and that he'd put my permanent crown in and that would stop the pain. I trusted him and agreed to have him put the permanent crown in while I was at the office and not under sedation. He DID NOT offer me any pain relief. I had no idea that I should have asked for something as this dental practice is supposed to be one that cares about patients and doesn't want them to suffer. When he removed the temporary crown, he knew I was in pain as I told him. He put the permanent crown on and it was one of the most painful dental procedures I've ever had. If you've ever had an exposed or irritated nerve and had someone put pressure on it, you know just how awful that pain is. I had to bite down for a few minutes for the cement to adhere and he kept saying the pain would go away, it didn't. I had trouble sitting still due to the pain, my blood pressure skyrocketed and I was sweating. I went home and took 2 Tylenol and 2 Advil for some relief, I was unable to work or eat for the rest of the day and my mouth was still throbbing when I went to sleep. To top It all off, I still have pain and my bite doesn't feel right but I'm too scared to ask them if it can be fixed. I'll just find a new dentist and get help there. Worst $2.500 I've ever spent! Unless you like feeling like you're being tortured, and have a lot of money to spend, find another dental practice.

Dr Potts is very knowledgeable.... The staffs are not friendly and LAZY (especially the woman (with…read morecolorful hair) who gives quote after meeting Dr Potts, and also the other two who were chatting and goofing around instead of working). I wish Dr Potts will hire new staffs. I am not going to this clinic is just purely because of the staffs. The woman (colorful hair woman) who gave the quote did not even know that Lake County FDC is in MetLife Network. She quoted me with out of network rate. This woman really needs to be trained. The other woman who appeared to be her supervisor showed no desire to work, bad attitude. Dr. Potts, you need to watch your staffs and make them dress more professional not like people who just get out of their beds!!! 5 Stars for the Doctor, 1 star for the staffs = Avg 3 stars.
