The owner, Tanya, is the best reason to stay here...great breakfasts, knowledge of the area, and comfortable rooms...

Tanya is so nice and helpful. The breakfasts are really excellent and the rooms are cozy. She has discounts for those that ski as well.

Carol was great to chat with and was helpful with anything that was needed. Also, the b and b is very close to all things outdoors, so it was perfect.

Stay away from this place!…read more I was a part of a group of 3 in the Belleayre area for skiing. For us, having access to a hot tub was the only required amenity for recovery after a long day of skiing. So, while it was a disappointment that the hot tub at the Margaretteville Suites didn't work, we understand the challenges that B&B operators face in upkeep. But no customer should expect to travel 3 hours from NYC only to learn for the first time upon a 10pm arrival that the hot tub doesn't work -- and we had communicated management, twice. Ok Fine, oversights happen. But with that, it was worth bringing our concerns to management's attention, after all, Carol M. Is a B&B owner so we'd expect the attentive customer service that you often get in the boutique travel industry. That's when all hell broke lose for us. When discussing the issues above on the second day of our stay, Carol M. Displayed an extraordinary level of rudeness. She suggested to a member of my group that we could have left on the night of our arrival (after a 3 hour drive on a Friday night after work to get there from NYC it's unfair to suggest we should have gone somewhere else when we were in a small town, and we had a contract... So if we just left would she refund us all the money?) and that she called my friend "disgusting" for suggesting the owner do anything to make the situation right. The concept that "the customer is always right" does not apply at the Margaretville Inn/B&B, Suites or Motel. Beware, Carol M. owns all 3. Also, don't take my word for it, look at the tone of the Carol M.'s disgruntled, sarcastic and rude replies to other dissatisfied customers on TripAdvisor. We should have known to stay away, and so should you.

Every inch felt welcoming and comfortable for our family of four. The waterfall at the Stratton Falls campus was absolutely stunning and incredibly relaxing. Falling asleep to the sound of the water from our deck made the experience feel truly special. Even with the cold weather, there were still plenty of activities to keep our family entertained. Between the waterfalls, game room, Netflix, life-sized chess, foosball, air hockey, the Crooked Cabana bar, hot tub, and dry sauna -- this place truly has it all. A special thank you to Chuck for making our Mother's Day weekend even more memorable than we could have imagined. From the cookies and coffee to the kids' welcome packets, every detail reflected warmth and care. We could not imagine a more family-friendly and welcoming experience. This was our third stay here, and it somehow keeps getting better every time. We already cannot wait to come back again and bring even more of our family with us next time.

Our bagged breakfast was missing a few items we ordered. That really was not ideal, as we had a long drive ahead of us to the city. So we ended up having to stop to get a couple of things since what we planned on having was not there. Also, the wait for someone to be at check in was long. We went to the Stratton falls first accidentally. It's 2.5 miles from where our location was. Apparently, the guy at check in saw us and knew we were at the wrong property (they were full at that location) but didn't tell us when he saw us. (We didn't see him). When my son finally found someone (that guy) he said "I saw you when you came in and knew you went to the wrong place...". Ok.... So you just let us stand around for 12 min, before we went searching for you? He wouldn't even give us more than "it's down the road." Directions to the other place. That guy was an awful first impression. The lady at our location was lovely, but he made the initial feeling stick with me. So, customer service sucked because of him. I had friends that came to meet us from 30 min away and had to wait an additional 20 min thanks to that guy. Would I suggest it? If the service continues like it was... no. Fun themes though. I hear they moved to new ownership, so maybe that's what is going on.

We enjoy the outdoor seating on the front porch and restaurant. We even took a dusk walk around the lake. The owners are super nice and helpful. The chef's food and dessert was so good I proposed. The chef at the Mill Pond Inn isn't just cooking -- he's performing delicious miracles every day that they're open. My boyfriend and I literally plan our trips upstate around dinner here. Forget the scenic views or rustic charm -- we come for the bread, stay for the entrées, and weep with joy over dessert (literally took 3 desserts home last night and went back tonight). Honestly, I'm shocked there's a rating below 5 stars. Who hurt you, people? Did the mashed potatoes remind you of a lost love? Because otherwise, this place is perfection. I wish I could post a photo, but the food disappears faster than my willpower to not over order when I'm here. Pro tip: bring stretchy pants and a good appetite. You'll need both.

The cabin was about a 2.5hr drive from Brooklyn, NY. Pulling up to the house, the entrance was beautiful and with the snow settled in, everything was breathtaking. The Stone Cottage was sooooo amazingly cozy! Walking in, all you want to do is cozy up on the couch. The entire cabin was so peaceful. It was 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and you can tell that it was recently renovated. We weren't able to enjoy the outside as much because of the snow but Luna, my dog, had a lot of fun jumping around in the snow on the gated deck! We walked to the area with the bridge and the pond which was lovely to look at. There are absolutely no complaints- I just can't wait to be back during the warmer months to enjoy the outdoors with Luna more!
