We had no idea that the room that we booked, the emerald room, had a private bathroom, but it was down the hall. We took her advice, and we're happy with our smaller room, the lavender room. There are lovely prette bathrobes in the rooms. The room was pretty dark even with the lights on. There is only one night table by the bed with a lamp on it and a ceiling light as well. But the light on the other side of the bed was not plugged in, and when we plugged it, it didn't help much at all. There is a lack of electrical outlets to easily plug into, but Carol gave us an extension cord, which was really needed. The bed was very comfortable. Not enough pillows unless you put the decorative ones behind the ones that were there. I was glad that I brought my own with me. There is a really cute fridge and microwave downstairs for those who need to use them. The bathroom was fine. No tub. Just a shower. But bring your own toilet paper. The paper that they have is like having no paper at all. Maybe they have an old plumbing system that can't handle anything but Scott. Breakfast was ok. Use the milk instead of the half and half in your coffee. The milk was fresher. I enjoyed the cheese omelet that I asked for. The sourdough toast was delicious. Neither the French toast or the waffles were crispy on the outside. But I am a chef, and my husband is used to my cooking. But they tasted good. The house was clean and pretty. It's a historic house. The television was flat screen, a bit small, but it was fine, and there were plenty of stations. There was an air conditioner and ceiling fan. We just used the fan on the air conditioner and it was fine. Not too noisy. There were really no other guests at the time we were there, as Carol and her husband were looking forward to leave for their vacation as soon as we left I don't know what it's like when there are more people there. I would stay there again, though I'm more used to staying at regular hotels. It is a short drive to town where there is a supermarket, a CVS, and restaurants. I know that Carol and her husband would have left for vacation earlier if it wasn't for us. I hope they had a good time.

This tiny drive-up motel is a genuine throwback to an earlier, simpler age, but with enough updates to please the modern traveller. The suites are fresh and clean, the beds are exceedingly comfortable, the kitchenette is basic but cheery, the bathroom spotless and bright. Not everything is perfect, but this really only adds to the charm. The proprietors clearly love their facility and want to impart some of this to you! My favorite amenities were the luxurious lanai in the back yard, the grill (one for each suite!), the blue and green lighting, and of course the location in the heart of the Catskills. If you want a five-star, starched, concrete-and-glass experience, this is not for you. But if you desire a place not just to lay your head but to get a taste of the easy, homegrown pace of life in the Catskills, you have found it.

Reconnection, relaxation and spa treatments were the main goals for this visit. Minimum booking for a stay is 3 nights but I could only do 2 and at check out I was informed that I'd be comped a night on my next visit :) Elizabeth the proprietor is very warm and welcoming. Her husband is the creative genius and chef for all of the delicious gourmet meals we devoured too. Once booked, they send you a questionnaire asking for your dietary needs, restrictions and wants. The sleeping rooms are nicely appointed, super clean and comfortable. Majority of the guests staying were on a 7+ days juice cleanse and they all raved that the juices were delicious as well. Since it was the cusp of fall/winter the grounds were sparse but the weather held up nicely so we were able to hike amongst the many trails in the area. There's a tennis court, a basketball court, indoor pool, indoor jacuzzi, both wet and dry steam rooms and a movie room as well. The spa/gym areas were all very nice and daily we got a schedule of events and timeline for spa procedures being done that day. All of the therapists we encountered were truly specialists in their field and left there truly feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Or, here's a thought, why not have more than one masseuse on staff? But who knows, for all we know, this might've even been a lie because she was giving my wife and sister-in-law such a hard time from the get-go, at the beginning of the reservation process and even when my wife went to buy the gift card. She was rude, didn't even apologize and instead, completely absolved herself from any responsibility for the matter. Just said there was nothing she could do and didn't even offer any kind of complimentary discount after we traveled so far to come to her spa. I've worked in customer service for many years and you always try to work with a customer, no matter the case. The only option she begrudgingly offered up was to text another "potential" employee who could "maybe" come in, but couldn't make any guarantees nor was she happy about having to potentially stay longer to wait around for an answer. If your reason for visiting Copperhood is to "get away from it all" and to detoxify for a week, you can be rest assured that by the end of the week you'll be filled right back up with another kind of toxicity from the owner. My girlfriend and I spent a few hours here on a Sunday afternoon in May. If you rent a boat you can keep it out as long as you want, and you have access to the whole property for the entire day. We spent awhile in kayaks and had the whole lake to ourselves for the entire time. We then spent some time down at the swimming hole and had that to ourselves as well. Everyone who works there was incredibly friendly and helpful. Beautiful day overall and the perfect end to a perfect weekend getaway.
