I've been a loyal patient at Meadowbrook Dentistry for several years and always appreciated their service--until my most recent experience completely changed that. After five years of consistent visits, I was surprised to be handed 20 minutes' worth of paperwork upon arrival. I repeatedly informed the front desk that I had to leave by 6:15 PM. Despite this, they brought me into the room at 5:45 PM for what was supposed to be a routine cleaning--and then insisted on doing X-rays. I explained again that I had limited time, and was told, "We'll get you out by 6:15." I asked how a 45-minute cleaning and X-rays could possibly be done in 30 minutes, but nobody seemed interested in listening. When I requested to speak to the doctor, I was told I couldn't. So I left, incredibly frustrated that after years of loyalty, I was being treated like just another name on a chart. Since then, no one from the practice followed up to apologize, ask what happened, or even check in. But the automated texts kept coming like clockwork. I gave it a few months to cool off and even tried to schedule a follow-up appointment to give them another chance. Instead, I was met with more resistance and indifference. I expressed my concerns over the phone and was rudely dismissed. When I said I would consider writing a review if this continued, the staff member curtly responded, "If you're going to threaten us, fine," and hung up on me. I wasn't planning to write this review, but the complete lack of accountability, empathy, or basic customer service left me no choice. It's unfortunate to see a place I once trusted handle a loyal patient with such disregard. Shame on them for treating long-term patients this way. read more

I hate to write a bad review because they were really nice but I didn't appreciate the sales oriented atmosphere. I recently moved back to Long Island and wanted to find a dentist closer proximity to my home. I found this dentistry on social media and decided to give them a try. On the positive side, their facility was absolutely gorgeous with seemingly all shiny state of the art technology inside. The staff were very friendly and overly welcoming. On the negative side of things, as soon as I sat down in the chair, I had about 4-5 different people approaching me with several different dental procedures that would probably cost tens of thousands of dollars. Totally not joking! I just wanted a simple dental cleaning and for them to look at a possible infected dental implant. I had two people suggest braces or Invisalign that would cost about 7,000. Another person suggesting that I would need scaling done before a dental cleaning. Another person stated that I grind my teeth and I should get a mouth guard and finally I had a doctor look at my infected dental implant and not only did he suggest I needed a new implant but gave me a reference to his fellow dental buddy that DOESNT TAKE INSURANCE. Did I have "I'm made of money" written on my shirt? Fast forward, I went back to my old dentist in Queens. I don't need scaling, just a good dental cleaning. I don't need a new implant just a debridement and I don't need braces as my teeth aren't shifting that badly. It seems like Meadowbrook dentistry is all about the money and less about providing affordable and/or necessary dental care. read more

It pisses me off to read negative reviews because a patient didn't like the decor in the waiting room, or saw the doctor using a computer. Other negatives were written by people with New York, NY or even upstate addresses. Are these even patients of this practice? I have found the dentists and staff at Meadowbrook to be professional, kind and interested in resolving any issues I have. They have amazing new imaging equipment and an in-house lab to make crowns, implants and other things. This saves time and that's great. I have had everything from a basic cleaning to a bone graft and implant insertion - nothing went wrong, and the work was excellent. To be fair, I have experienced some confusion on coverage through my dental insurance, but that was cleared up quickly, and any costs were what I expected them to be - no surprises, balance-billing or other charges. To the haters, all I can say is stop bashing businesses for reasons that have little to nothing to do with your dental care. The look of the waiting room, or the fact that you saw a dentist using a computer are ridiculous reasons to give fewer rating stars to anyone. read more

I had seen the same dentist from my childhood up until around 38 or 39. He retired and that left me looking for a new dentist. I had been having great luck with zocdoc and decided to use it for dentistry. I searched for in network doctors and of them I cDr. Tamburro. I made my appointment for service easily. I'm not used to waiting for a dental appointment unless it was an orthodontist. But my old dentist was the only person doing work in his office, so he spaced his appointments out appropriately. I never had seen anyone but a dentist. I was pleasantly greeted and asked to fill out a little paperwork and give a copy of my license. As I did this, I sat in the empty waiting area that felt like I was going to a club or a trendy restaurant with their music choices. I found the atmosphere distasteful. After approx 20 min, I was seen by a dental hygienist. I was given the standard xrays as a new patient and someone who hadn't seen the dentist for a bit. I was then led to a room for my service. However, I was not going to recieve my service for some time. The oral hygeniest explained to me that they recommend some extra work. They did not want to start any work until more appointments were booked. They also said it was not covered under insurance 100%. This is an in network doctor/dentist. Eventually the dentist showed face, asked a few questions and left. They continued their sales pitch and eventually provided the service I was there for. As I walked out, I saw the dentist just kinda hanging out playing on the computer. I really feel his time in dental school was wasted. I must say, the hygeniest I saw was extremely good with her work. Far better than my old dentist who was very old school. I then went to check out and was greeted with more sales pitch. I was then greeted by the largest in network bill I've ever seen. At this point, I was really looking to escape and end this experience. I later recieved my medical insurance statement which showed the agreed upon arrangement with the office. In comparing with my bill, this office overcharged me. It wasn't enough to go back and request money back, but it made me question how this dentist was in network. This practice on zocdoc has 9 5 star reviews, but on yelp is rated 2, which is far more accurate. I got home and explained the situation to my wife. She said her dentist suggested the same treatments for her and they were covered 100%. I then went to another dentist who also stated that the treatment on me would be covered 100%. I find the staff competent at dentistry. However, I find them extremely unethical with billing. I would not recommend this business to anyone and would not be surprised to see them removed from in network or prosecuted. In the end, I did get a nice small mug. read more

MUST READ!!!! Current Patient that came in for 1 specific problem and has now turned into several thousand dollars later, as well as 4 separate appointments (all individually charged). Do NOT be fooled by the refrigerator with water or the.BIG screen monitors!!! This dentist has only worked on half my mouth, I AM IN MORE PAIN THAN I HAVE EVER BEEN !!!!!! It felt like they were quicker to book and confirm my appointments, THAN TAKE a 100% of payment and only half the work has been done...... AND the half that WAS done is worse off. I am in pain, have called MULTIPLE times and have been put on hold for over 15 minutes on 3 different occasions....... AFTER ......Letting the staff know I am IN A LOT OF PAIN and something doesn't feel right !!!!!!!! I AM FED UP !!!!!!! read more

I made an appointment for a free consultation approximately a month ago at this particular dentistry located in Plainview. I had an appointment at 10:00 when I got there the door was open there was one or two people so I wanted to have papers I needed to fill out rather than using the link on the phone it'd be easy in person. Now I wasn't in a hurry, but I'm waiting I'm and waiting for someone to show at the entrance desk. Nobody there now other people are coming in asking isn't there anymore at the desk to help me? I hear talking going on which I later found out that they have a meeting every morning, OK, so my issue was If you're going to have a meeting then don't open the doors before 10:00 and have people waiting there like jerks! I waited even 10 minutes after 10 and still nobody was at the front desk! So now I don't live around the block I'm n fixed income I travel all the way from Bayshore to Plainview for nothing! Thank you very much for absolutely wasting my time and gas! So now I seen it again that was posted on Facebook with another location in Melville so I left a message for them to call back which they did and it was a woman. I told her briefly what had happened and I don't who she was other than an$8.00 an hour receptionist and she said, Well, I think maybe you should look for another dentist! Why? because she don't want to hear effing truth? How does she rate? Is she the OWNER???? I think you people should have your meetings BUT have someone at the desk!!! Or don't open the door until your morning meeting is over and somebody could be at the desk like every other doctor or dentist.BTW, I need to go to you. Billing department is a scam, went their for a basic 6 months cleaning and x Ray which my insurance covers. Few weeks later I received a bill for all these dental charges that was never done on me. I had to call them and verify. The billing lady was nonstop talking trying to make her point and wouldn't even try to listen to what I had to say. I had to raise my voice to get a word in, then she called me being rude, unbelievable...will never go back again! read more

Be careful with the hidden cost. They will show you a picture of your teeth before and after cleaning and then you will get a bill. I have called many times, the lady from billing department showed VERY BAD attitude. They insisted they only did x ray and my insurance didn't fully cover it. I called and confirmed that my plan covered X ray. After a few phone call, my insurance told me that they used intraoral cameras and something else that charged about additional 90 dollars. Never heard from them in all my past phone calls. I am very healthy. No need to diagnose anything. This is extra hidden cost. I absolutely hate the dentist. I had been looking into the all on 4/6 implant procedure for a few months. I had done a few free consults and had narrowed it down to 2 offices, this was not one of them. They were my final office that I had made an appointment with so I decided to keep it despite being pretty much content with my other choices. I met with Dr. Tamburro and spoke with Sabrina, I still wasn't quite sold. It was the follow up phone call with Sabrina that sealed the deal for me. I felt like she cared about the outcome, I didn't feel like it was about money. I made a second appointment, met with Dr. Tamburro again. He mad me feel at ease, very calming reassuring. He made me comfortable. I had never had that feeling with any dentist before. I made my down payment that day. Leading up to the surgery he called me checked on me. The day of he was amazing. He has been checking on me since surgery he makes me feel like I'm his only patient. The care has been nothing short of amazing. I can smile again, Im regaining confidence. read more

Just going to be honest here. I lost my front tooth 10 years ago and wore a flipper made from another dentist. For 10 years every morning and night was a routine. It was an emotional disaster... I work in customer service and communication is key... When i couldn't smile as much ,my self esteem started to fade and i never thought there was a solution. Yeah, Ive heard of dental implants but i never thought i would ever be able to afford it. My initial visit was a "new patient" visit.. Dr.Silfa immediately noticed i was super sensitive about my missing front tooth and asked me what I would like ... I jumped around the question avoiding my missing tooth and then he asked me why I've been avoiding the repair...I explained... he came up with a plan...he gave me options and told me to think about it. No pressure... I still avoided it... Whelp the day came when my flipped broke... Dr. Silfa basically told me it's was time... And said these words i will never forget "Are you comfortable with that?" not "comfortable" meaning price wise he meant "comfortable" giving him the opportunity to make me want to smile again... During the process he even fixed my flipper. Fast forward ...I cant not believe I woke up this morning not having to put that flipper in.... I owe my smile to him.
