I wouldn't say the receptionist I checked in with was rude, but she wasn't friendly either - just kind of going through the motions. Waiting room area is nice and I only waited a few minutes. The tech that did the pre-testing was friendly and did as thorough a job as I've had done anywhere else. Then she had me go in the exam room. The chair was in very bad condition with peeling vinyl and flaking foam. And then I find out I won't actually be seeing a doctor in person, it will be a virtual visit where I speak to the doctor on a screen and the exam is done remotely. This was never disclosed to me before this point and I would not have made this appointment if I had known that. I'm already there so I went through with the exam. I was given a set of contacts to try and immediately knew they were not right. After much arguing and being told I was wrong, I finally got a different strength in the eye that was the worse of the two, but they still weren't even close to right. Instead of figuring it out right then, I was told I would need to wear them for a week to get used to them and then come back. Getting annoyed at this point, I left and called back the next day to book a follow up...of which they had no openings for another several weeks. So I went way too long in a contact prescription that was incorrect and giving me headaches daily. I finally get back for the follow up and wait for over an hour in the waiting room. When I was called back the tech did a quick check and determined in a matter of moments that yes, the contacts I was given were all wrong and I would need to do another virtual exam. So I re-did that whole process and got a prescription that was better but still not quite right. Fed up at this point, I took it and left. I glanced at glasses frames but they were insanely overpriced, and I ordered my contacts elsewhere as I was done giving this place any of my business. Had I not already exhausted my insurance benefit, I would have gone somewhere else for another exam. I noticed when I was in the waiting room that I was the youngest person there, by several decades. It is in my opinion that this place caters to elderly folk who have more issues and thus will spend more money there. From my own experience and what I observed, it seems as though they are perhaps most concerned with maximizing profit at the expense of a quality product.

    I wrote kind of a long rebuttal previously but realize people will only read something short, so…read morehere's the TL;DR version: (1) Fred, who responded to my review, was not present for any of these interactions. He's sharing false info he was presumably given by his staff. (2) Any of my visits to this location prior to the time I booked the appointment are irrelevant to the issue. If anything, they reinforce that all previous interactions here were courteous. (3) Correct, none of my information is the system. That's the problem. Thanks for reiterating that it was never entered when it should have been. I spent 15 minutes giving the staff member my personal and insurance (PII / HIPAA covered) information to make an appointment. I have a witness who was there with me. I was given a date, time, and instructions to arrive 15 minutes early. I refused the appointment card only because I entered the info in my phone. Why it was never entered in the system is a question for the incompetent employee. (4) I did not yell and curse at staff, nor did I yell on my way out. I was frustrated with the nonchalance and lack of integrity of the staff. In fact, I was so frustrated that I was crying. Bet they conveniently left that out when trying to make me the bad guy here.

When I explained this to the "doctor', I got, "well just go home and wear the left one and come back in a few day's. This is due to how they apparently overbook people like cattle . When I returned he said "what are you doing here". I told him that I was following his instructions and ready to finish my right eye. He says, " I can't fix the vision in your right eye". I say, "If you had told me that 2 days ago when I was here I would have left and asked for my money back! So, Why did you ask me to come back 2 days later?" He says, "fine, we'll give you your money back, come over here to the register". The lady at the register says, "I'll need the contact back from your left eye before I can give you a refund". I say, "why would you want the used contact back"? She says, " Well, we have to return it back to the factory". I say, "What about the 3 other wrong lenses that I tried and was told to throw out out in the wastebasket"? "Are you going to return them too"? Long stare. I finally just walked out before I really lost my temper. They charged me $200 out of pocket because because, of course, they didn't take my insurance. I got 1 contact and a full dose of the post-Covid, provincial, non-existent customer service I have come to expect from most "professionals in this area. You've been warned!

    This business in not what it used to be--they need more doctors and staff to keep up with the…read moreamount of patients they schedule in one day. I had an appointment at 2:30PM, showed up 15 minutes early and still had to wait 45 minutes until they were ready. Then the appointment itself took way too long because the staff and doctor kept leaving the room to help another customer with their appointment...I know I'm not the only customer but I was in the middle of reading letters off of the screen when they had me pause so they could go help someone else. I don't think it's selfish of me to expect them to stay in the room for at least 15 minutes to complete one simple test. Even though Dr. Braun is extremely nice and friendly, his staff lacks in the customer service department. Many times I have walked into their office with questions regarding payment, ordering contacts, scheduling appointments, etc. and have been answered with condescending attitude and very little help. Their hours are not conducive for a person who works a 9-5:30 job every single day. They close at either 4pm or 5pm (6pm on Wednesdays), close for lunch and are not open on the weekends. Their times are just not customer friendly. Not everyone has the availability to stroll in at 3pm on a Tuesday. If you are looking for a reliable optometry office I unfortunately would not recommend this business.
