A Full and Wonderful Day…read more Our tour with Dale was fabulous. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it didn't take long to realize that not only is Dale a great tour guide, he's also a very personable and knowledgable man who makes you feel like an old friend. The points of interest were superb and the last stop we made provided one of the best meals I've had in my life and most likely the best ribeye ever. The day lasted longer than expected, but it was a wonderful day and ended up being just perfect. We are planning to use his rental venue for a retreat in the coming months and looking forward to it. I highly recommend his services.

First I would like to start with the facts. 1. We booked…read morethis tour months ago but unfortunately had to reschedule to a later date. (due to Covid19) This was not an issue for anyone attending the tour and the company got all $2800 paid for in full. 2. Yes $2800. We had 28 people in our group, It required two buses that were at their max capacity. 3. I would give a HUGE ZERO if I could. The buses arrived at the pick up location 25 minutes early and expected us (all 28) to load up. Not all 28 people were even there yet. The male driver already seemed annoyed at this point. We ended up pulling out at the agreed on time. When trying to leave the 2nd winery we couldn't. The drivers HAD LEFT and weren't there to pick us up. We waited outside in the sun outside for 30 minutes before they even got back. But that unfortunately is not why I am writing this review As we were loading the bus to go home the male driver said that would be charging us for a cleaning fee ($300) because someone spilt something on the floorboard. Pretty steep for a small spill that could be wiped up with a Clorox wipe but she agreed to pay it she sat down. Comments started to be exchanged about the steep fee and how the day had been complete chaos up until this point. The man began to get pretty heated and slammed the door. When he opened the door to his seat he said "who the f**k spilt something in my seat." Nobody had spilled something on his seat. Upon looking at the "spill" it appeared to be sweat from Him. He continued to cuss and yell and eventually told us to "get off his bus." We all piled off and the other bus also unloaded. Now it is important to note the other driver said we didn't do anything wrong and that she didn't agree with how he was handling things. He told her he was in charge and that he would make the call. She became quiet after that. They ultimately left us there to find our own rides. The male driver was rude and didn't speak unless spoken to the entire day. A beautiful day with amazing company was RUINED by this company and I will not recommend them to anyone!

Cellar Rat Wine Tours - 3rd Stop Adega Vinho! Jeremy was awesome!

Cellar Rat Wine Tours is top-notch! From the initial inquiry communication to the completion of the…read moretour. First and foremost I appreciate the professionalism shown by Cadye with her prompt emails and answering all of my questions. She and Clint put together an awesome itinerary, our only ask was to tour Slate Theory. Everything else was suggested and curated by Cellar Rat. Second I appreciate Clint, for the whole experience the day of the tour. We paid for a private tour and it was just that. He sent a text the morning of the tour to let me know when he was set to arrive. He arrived 1 minute early in the SUV and greeted us when we came out. He had a cooler in the truck with ice and water. He is well versed in all things vino and super down-to-earth. We started the tour at Texas Wine Collective where they rolled out the red carpet. We were doing the tour on a Monday so we pretty much had the whole winery/tasting room to ourselves. Sandy at Texas Wine Collective was awesome, ask for her if you visit. While we did our tasting, Clint went to grab our lunch from Fresh Pickens. The food was AWESOME! It hit the spot definitely after all the wine and cheese Sandy gave us! After lunch, we took some photos around the property then hopped in the SUV and on to the next winery, Kuhlman Cellars. Where we were met by Malachi. Malachi served us a flight of 5 wines, 3 selected by Kuhlman and 2 selected by my wife and me. We took a couple of photos out near the vines then headed on to the last winery, Slate Theory. Slate Theory's tasting room is by far the best experience. Words can't explain it. By the time we got to Slate Theory we didn't really want to learn about the wine, we just wanted to drink; and that we did. We hung out there for about an hour before heading back to the Airbnb. Great day of drinking! Met some awesome people and got to enjoy my wife on our anniversary. Clint knew everybody by the way, definitely makes the difference when you visit because you feel like family at each location. The only thing I would change about the tour would be to add an actual tour of the facilities and vineyard to the experience. I'm a visual learner and it would be cool to tour the distillation area and barreling process while learning about the wines. All in all, I give Cellar Rat Tours 5 STARS "A+++". PS: Slate Theory charged us for the wine tasting and Clint stepped in and handled the situation and orchestrated the refund to our credit card. This guy does it all! He's our main man for real. Thank you, Clint and Cadye! Many blessings to you and your business!

He was incredibly knowledgeable about the wine industry not just here in Texas but all over. We learned so much from him, and Cellar Rat picked 3 top-notch wineries for us to visit. It's definitely a birthday to remember! Thank you so much for a perfect day, Cellar Rat and Chris!! We'll be back for another tour again soon!!

This was an incredible experience! Christian was so knowledgeable and passionate about the wine and…read morethe vineyard in general. It was very personalized and created a very intimate experience. The views are absolutely stunning and trick your mind into thinking you are in Italy. The wine is amazing, balanced, and full of flavor. There were no bad wines like you may experience in other winery tastings. They also provide little bites of an elevated caprese salad during your tasting. All of it is from Texas and so fresh! They do provide information for a membership but are not pushy at all. I highly recommend this tasting/tour and we will definitely be back!

Upon checking inside, they offered to not only do a tasting but also do a guided tour. For the 90 minute guided tour, we hopped inside their converted truck that resembled somewhat of a safari adventure minus the animals and plus grape vines. Beautiful views of the Hoover valley. We got to get out and taste some of the cabernet sauvignon grapes that were ripening. After the tour, we went inside and had a wine tasting of 4 wines, 2 whites and 2 reds. The members we were with gave us a great peek upstairs to the members area and the views were also great up there. THE FINAL BAMBOO: The overall experience was around $50 for the tasting and tour. Very fun times and will be back to try more of their wines!

Since our initial visit, the…read morewinemaking team has clearly refined their aging process, and the culinary side is firing on all cylinders. I sampled the Bruschetta. The healthy portion of Burrata cheese, the acidity in the balsamic glaze and tomatoes creates a seamless match with the Sangiovese, enhancing the wine's red fruit characteristics without washing out the palate. For this trip, I also tasted the 2023 Meritage, a dark, complex blend anchored by Texas grown grapes including Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon balanced with Cabernet Franc. Offers layered aromas of cassis, graphite, baking spices and grounded by structured, firm tannins. My previous review included the feedback that prices were incredibly high. Now, the prices of everything else has caught up. Good job Team Perissos. The hospitality of the staff is why we moved to Texas in the 80s. I'm well traveled and I can tell you, Texas hospitality is beyond compare.

THE BLACK AND WHITE: We came here on a low key Sunday afternoon when they first opened. We were the first ones through the door and when we left, it was pretty crowded. For the wine tasting here, we had a chance to taste six wines. We chose 2 whites, 1 rose and 3 reds. My favorite was the sangiovese and the tempranillo. These grapes grow so well in Texas and it shows through these wines expression. THE FINAL BAMBOO: For a wine tasting, it'll be around $30. We had a great time and would recommend coming for not only the vibes but also to relax and enjoy some quality texas wines.

I sent a meeting invite for their calendars so that Benny and the executive could see all of the details. Vehicle type, pick up time, driver name and phone number, ect....but instead, Benny sent one of his drivers to pick up the executive, WITH OUT TELLING ME!! It would have been 100% fine, IF he had communicated that change to me so I could let my executive know and feel safe as to what vehicle he was getting into. When I exclaimed the frustration, he simply said, "Don't do business with me and do not call me ever again!". He did not address my concerns at all. A simple text message would have sufficed to say plans/driver have changed. Finally, he would not release the new driver name/phone number to me - so I had to wait 1 hour to hear that the executive reached the destination safely. I do not recommend using Benny's Wine Tours.
