We value the lack of technology in the classroom, which, in this age, is practically unheard of in any other school setting. All these values coalesce into an education where our children are thriving. Resilience is reinforced through small everyday actions that instill perseverance and enable children to push through life's difficulties. The five C's of twenty-first century skills include critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and character. I see this every day with my children and their peers. On field trips, facilitators of the tours have commented on observing these traits too - a testament to the quality of their education. Things that should be highlighted: - In the grades, first through eight, the students travel in a cohort with the same teacher. This builds rapport, year after year, and better understanding of how the child learns best. - It's tech free. No computers, no tablets, no movies. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Kids have their hands on realia. Not screens. - Updates. Parents receive updates from their teachers, snippets of what's happening in the classroom. - It comes with a wholesome community. Friendly, welcoming, and inclusive with plenty of coordinated opportunities to socialize with others, if your family is socially inclined. - The kids are outdoors every single day with plenty of recess time and weekly hikes. In the grades, they take plenty of field trips, locally and further. They camp and take international trips. It's an amazing experience for the students. We're excited to be a part of this school community and look forward to many more years here.

You womt find…read moreanother school like St Dominics where your daughter will receive such a good sound Catholic education and formation for life. 6th grade was the turning point where classes and school become more difficult. Because the sisters dont use internet or computers and media as most people do nowadays communication is definitely much slower than one would expect in our day and age. This is in part because the sisters do all the teaching and caring for school grounds etc and they dont hire someone to be secretarty they take turns doing that too so this keeps the cost of the school very affordable. My older daughter seems happy there but she is at the age where the grass is greener on the other side and school is hard. This is normal at this age. I remember going through it as well. She gets along w some of the teachers better than others. Again. Normal. Is the school perfect? No. Are the kids who go their perfect or teachers perfect? No. Theyre human. Most definitely the school is a blessing however challenging it is. Our children nowadays need to learn that they "can do hard things". I wish someone had taken the trouble to teach me this before i became a Mother.

The school's administrator, Mindy Thom, truly exemplifies Christlike care in everything she does. Her genuine love for children, passion for education, and dedication to nurturing each student's spiritual and emotional growth are evident every day. Our three children have been so blessed by their teachers--Mrs. Holmes, Mrs. A, and Mrs. Demata. These educators go above and beyond to create a loving, supportive, and enriching environment for their students. They prioritize our children's well-being and development with such grace and care, avoiding harsh discipline while fostering respect, responsibility, and compassion. We've attended other schools in the area, and while there are many wonderful Christian institutions, Summit Christian Academy feels like home. It's a place where we truly feel called to be--a community that partners with us in raising our children to know and love the Lord. If you're seeking a school that not only provides excellent academics but also nurtures children spiritually and emotionally with genuine care, Summit Christian Academy is the place to be.

She sustained a concussion and has since experienced trauma-related symptoms. While we hoped for concern and a collaborative path toward resolution, the school leadership instead chose to expel all three of our children after we asked for answers and safety improvements. This happened without warning, without a clear explanation, and without allowing our children to say goodbye to friends or participate in school events they had prepared for. We are heartbroken by how the situation was handled--not just the incident itself, but the school's response. We believe families deserve to know how serious matters are addressed when concerns are raised. Our experience may not reflect everyone's, but it was deeply impactful for our family. We share this review in the hope that it brings awareness and prompts reflection for others considering the school.
