They focus on play-based learning so there is lots of extra time to play outside and do "centers" inside, which are stations for playing. Kindergarten had plenty of academics as well to balance the play, and they taught Bible as well which I loved. They also offered extra curricular classes like Science and Art Club as well as Gymnastics--all during the school day. I didn't realize my daughter was going to learn Spanish too, which was a nice surprise! We loved Mrs. Cece and Ms. Susan for Kinder! The staff is very loving and caring under Mrs. Donna's leadership.

They even gave me a print out on proper instructions on how to do Corporal punishment. I'm against spanking. If you want your child to be physically restrained and grabbed when he or she is acting out then go here. We hired a professional behavioral specialist to monitor both the teachers and my son while going to the school, she was only allowed to go twice before they expelled him. I ask what are you hiding. They said that they were trained in behavioral Issues in children. My hired professional behavioral Specialist went to this school she stated none of the staff implemented or used any professional tactics against children with behavioral issues. In fact using any forms of violence against children who have behavioral and possible mental illnesses spark and trigger Children to react. We asked all the staff to please not put their hands on our child and they continued all the way up until the day that they expelled him. We are not saying our son is perfect. And we would have never taken our son to the school if they were not trained in behavioral corrections for troubled children. Our son has gotten worse since going here. Beware of the teachers grabbing and forcing children to mind. My son just turned 5.

I do have to say the toddler room has been such a breathe of fresh air! I felt the need to post a review to express how impressed my husband and I have been with the complete 180 the toddler room has made. When my oldest was there the lead at the time was never consistent and always gossiping with other parents while the children ran around. I know toddlers can get crazy but I felt there could have been more done. Fast forward to now and with a new lead and the director in the class, I am beyond impressed with the change. The children are engaged and communication is easy with the parent app. Drop off is easy and watching the children move around like an actual Montessori environment is amazing to see! This was my second experience with a Child Care Facility. It has been the worst experience ever And…read moreI may never trust another childcare facility after this one. My childcare was paid for by the state as is for most of the parents there. The owner filed false documentation to DSHS requesting extra funding for Disibility Services that they don't even offer. The only reason I knew about it is because I got the letter saying it was denied after they told me there was something I need to sign that I didn't sign. The owner Vicky, is absolutely harsh and unkind. There was not one single time that I saw her that she did not tell me something I was doing wrong as a parent. They did not listen to my wishes for my child, they let the people who are allowed to pick her up, make decisions for her instead of calling me to ask me permission as I have custody. They don't even have time.And the saddest part about all of it is that my daughter was so sad to go to daycare/school. She absolutely hated it. And she loves kids and she loves being around other people, but she hated this place and that was the true sign that this is not a good place to take your children. I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere for childcare. If you would like your children to be happy. Do not take them here. They like to claim they have five star reviews, and the first thing they told me is that they were a five star learning Academy, but all I saw was bored kids not eating their food and not having any fun or learning anything. A specific example of how horrible this place is when we picked up my daughter one day and she had soaked all the way through her pull-up and all the way through her clothes so I had to drive her home without clothes on. That's how wet her clothes were. And she was in the middle of potty training so if they had just asked her if she wanted to go potty, she would've done it. Instead, they ignored her and let her diaper soak through her clothes till she was sopping wet, and it was dripping down her . I promise you there HAVE to be other places in Spokane Valley that are higher quality than this place. Just from their deceit to DSHS alone I think they should be shut down.

We had issues with West Valley School District and felt our only choice was private school or homeschooling. I am so glad we chose to try VCS. It has been an exceptional experience for us these past 3 years. Moving into Jr High, we see no reason to expect anything different. I'm not saying they are the only good school or that it will be the right fit for your circumstances. But, if you are researching options, they are definitely worth a look.
