This was my second experience with a Child Care Facility. It has been the worst experience ever And…read moreI may never trust another childcare facility after this one. My childcare was paid for by the state as is for most of the parents there. The owner filed false documentation to DSHS requesting extra funding for Disibility Services that they don't even offer. The only reason I knew about it is because I got the letter saying it was denied after they told me there was something I need to sign that I didn't sign. The owner Vicky, is absolutely harsh and unkind. There was not one single time that I saw her that she did not tell me something I was doing wrong as a parent. They did not listen to my wishes for my child, they let the people who are allowed to pick her up, make decisions for her instead of calling me to ask me permission as I have custody. They don't even have time. And the saddest part about all of it is that my daughter was so sad to go to daycare/school. She absolutely hated it. And she loves kids and she loves being around other people, but she hated this place and that was the true sign that this is not a good place to take your children. I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere for childcare. If you would like your children to be happy. Do not take them here. They like to claim they have five star reviews, and the first thing they told me is that they were a five star learning Academy, but all I saw was bored kids not eating their food and not having any fun or learning anything. A specific example of how horrible this place is when we picked up my daughter one day and she had soaked all the way through her pull-up and all the way through her clothes so I had to drive her home without clothes on. That's how wet her clothes were. And she was in the middle of potty training so if they had just asked her if she wanted to go potty, she would've done it. Instead, they ignored her and let her diaper soak through her clothes till she was sopping wet, and it was dripping down her . I promise you there HAVE to be other places in Spokane Valley that are higher quality than this place. Just from their deceit to DSHS alone I think they should be shut down.

There is no way the person had any reason to be dishonest. Having caregivers who love their job and value children to the degree that this person and their other teachers do, is rare. I was told there shouldn't be a problem getting her in as I wasn't too far down on the list for that month. When it came closer to needing daycare (August) and not hearing from them, I called to confirm arrangements. They said they didn't have availability and to check back next year! I told them I was on the waitlist list since last summer. Their excuse was other moms who have children there take precedence. What really likely happened is they lost the list in their relocation and never admitted to it. Fast forward, I follow up in the fall, the new year, and again I called back in the summer and I asked what place I was in line and the gave me a number that was way further down then what I started with. Never did hear from them. Disorganized, irresponsible and unprofessional.

The ten months I worked at Robyns nest was quite the experience to say the least. If you enjoy…read moreworking to the point of burnout, constant physical and mental exhaustion, as well as never ending work place drama this is definitely the place for you. The children are about the only good thing about this place. The owner (Robyn) shows constant favoritism to her own daughter (Angel) that works here, her sister (Ladonna), and the few employees that she likes/ that have worked there for years. Her daughter (Angel) who is not even qualified to work here is allowed to do the bare minimum(causing other classrooms to go without and other people to do her job), runs personal errands on the clock, she watches her own child on the clock(other employees have also had to help watch her daughter while working), she does her own personal school work on the clock, sits in the office doing personal tasks rather than working, leaves for longer periods of time than her allotted break times, shows up late, "isn't allowed to be in the bathroom for too long because she forgets what shes doing/ where she is" (Robyns own words), wears whatever she wants while the rest of us follow a dress code. Other employees are expected to pick up Angel's slack and not say anything about it, yet Robyn has fired other people on the spot for the same thing. Ladonna the cook does not follow food safety policies, consistently leaves food uncovered in the fridge after cooking it, freezes, de-thaws, and re-freezes food. Claims things on the menu are homemade but in reality they are pre-made items. Uses the microwave to cook 90% of the food, walks around the center with the same gloves on that shes uses to prepare the food. Has served expired food as well as raw food on multiple occasions. Does not provide enough food for the kids to have a full portion or second helpings. Shows up late and leaves early almost every single day, and complains about doing her job constantly. Robyn will consistently brag about how much money she has and all the things she buys/ trips she goes on but wont give her employees raises or incentives to stay or offer healthcare benefits or any benefits really. If you are sick or have to call out she will shame you for it and show no sympathy or understanding, but allows her own daughter to call out whenever she feels like it. Will allow her favorite employees to accrue PTO but would cash out my PTO on almost every single paycheck to the point I had negative PTO hours. Robyn will make a set of rules for one classroom but certain people are exempt from those rules. She does not accommodate children that show signs of being on the spectrum or that may have a disability instead she will just kick them out of the center. Working here took a huge toll on my mental health, despite working extremely hard day after day I was never shown any gratitude or appreciation instead I was treated as the "less than" employee because I was simply not a part of her favorites. Even though I was considered a "lead teacher" I was not allowed to make any decisions about the classroom I worked in, had my ideas turned down, and was not recognized as a good employee ever. Robyn is an extremely greedy, selfish and unappreciative employer and expects this job to be your only priority when this business is not her priority in the slightest. She is the worst manager I have ever encountered in my entire life. I will sincerely miss the children I cared for but I will not miss working here, and do not recommend this place for employment at all for anyone.

To start off I have never known that kids could be dripped off at daycare and not cry when they go. My 2 year old granddaughter has never cried and willingly goes in on her own. I love getting photos or videos during the day through the app as well. Such a neat feature! They show what things they are working on so I can continue to ask and with her at home. They check the kids in at the door taking temperature and wearing a mask to keep things as safe as possible. All the teachers and leaders there seem happy and are so loving to the kids. You can tell they actually love kids and enjoy being there! No wonder my granddaughter loves to go. I love to go and interact with them as well! Jamie in particular is always so engaging and caring, always wearing a smile! She genuinely cares and listens. You just feel blessed to be around her even if it's for a short time. I can't recommend this place more!

We value the lack of technology in the classroom, which, in this age, is practically unheard of in any other school setting. All these values coalesce into an education where our children are thriving. Resilience is reinforced through small everyday actions that instill perseverance and enable children to push through life's difficulties. The five C's of twenty-first century skills include critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and character. I see this every day with my children and their peers. On field trips, facilitators of the tours have commented on observing these traits too - a testament to the quality of their education. Things that should be highlighted: - In the grades, first through eight, the students travel in a cohort with the same teacher. This builds rapport, year after year, and better understanding of how the child learns best. - It's tech free. No computers, no tablets, no movies. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Kids have their hands on realia. Not screens. - Updates. Parents receive updates from their teachers, snippets of what's happening in the classroom. - It comes with a wholesome community. Friendly, welcoming, and inclusive with plenty of coordinated opportunities to socialize with others, if your family is socially inclined. - The kids are outdoors every single day with plenty of recess time and weekly hikes. In the grades, they take plenty of field trips, locally and further. They camp and take international trips. It's an amazing experience for the students.
