The WildHaven Ranch is a hidden gem in the forest communities…read more If I were to describe this place, it is a wild life rescue and refuge for animals that cannot be returned back into the wild. The privilege of visiting this and the education one receives while observing the animals is far different than the experience at a zoo or amusement park. The people that run this place are NOT entertainers. They have a passion and a love for the animals they care for and it is evident in their enthusiasm and dedication. This is a wild life refuge and a great educational experience for anyone who takes the time to visit. The staff have a lot to share. Your admission cost goes toward the care and feeding of these wonderful creatures which would otherwise have perished in the wild. There are Reptiles, Coyotes, Bears, Bobcats, Raccoons, Bald Eagles, Turkey Vultures, and a magnificent Golden Eagle in their care. These magnificent animals can be observed up close where they can be appreciated. Keep in mind that the price of admission is not for profit but instead goes towards operational costs of care and feeding of these amazing creatures. Make reservations because space is limited and the staff is dedicated to provide visitors with the best and most informative experience which will increase every visitors appreciation for the creatures that live around us. They cannot take unplanned walk-in visitors. Special Note: To locate this place, pay careful attention to the directions on their website. Your GPS will NOT accurately guide you to this location. They have an alternate location that the GPS will find. Then follow the signs to the entrance to the refuge compound.

She not only had a foxtail stuck in her skin and it became infected. She also had a UTI she was able to help with both. I am beyond grateful for her. Thank you Maria for helping to rescue dogs. She is so selfless and gives so much of her time to these dogs that are left abandoned or neglected. Thank you

::: Rescue seekers beware :::…read more I got the number of this "rescue" online because I was looking for a small dog I then called them and was told that they have over 60 dogs, and that you should come by to find one. A couple days later I came by with my daughter, and picked one. And was told that they would let me know when she was ready. - we left and we hadn't yet discussed any money. I also never filled out an application, and was never even told about their website. A few days later, after finding out they would be okay to get a dog, I text them and let them know. I was then told that I could not pick her up yet. When she was ready, I drove back up to the shelter, and picture up along with many goodies for her. The customer service was excellent. :: I then asked what the fee was, and she said $300 :: Notice that I left with the dog, without filling on the application or visiting their website, nor had I even been told that it was non-refundable. After having the dog for a few days, she was suffering from extreme separation anxiety, and after getting complaints from the manager of my building, I said I'm going to return her. Upon my arrival, after dropping everything off, I looked at Maria and said "So can I get a refund? Things didn't work out"... This was the first time hearing that the fee was not refundable, and their reasoning was their non-profit, which again is news to me. But Maria told me that she doesn't deal with the money, and to text that number. After going back and forth with the person via text, I let her know that I'd have to escalate this, because of the reason stated above. I then then had to file a police report and will have to go to civil court. This is my long-winded way of telling potential rescue parents that make sure to read all the fine print. The person that I was texting did not do things by the book, and I think she knows that. So make sure you cover all your bases, and understand that you cannot get a refund, only switch it out for a different dog. And most importantly, choose your dog wisely. Since there's so many dogs, there's no way for them to know the temperament of each of the dogs. When I brought mine home, it completely changed when I left the house. Just being there likely causes trauma to those dogs, and there's many animals in each kennel.

This cute pet store is indeed tiny, but full of love, and aims for finding the best homes for the animals they have in their care. When I stopped in, they had an English Bull Terrier, English Bulldog, and American Bulldog looking for a new home, as well as kitties (which are also housed at the Purr Ground) nearby. I love how much effort they put into getting to know the animals in their care, as well as taking care of any health needs. As for picking up supplies, they have a decent amount of cute accessories for dogs and cats to check out.

I was out and about in the beautiful city of Apple Valley raiding different antique and thrift stores when I stumbled upon this hidden gem. There's a big selection of clothes, household appliances, furniture and media room with VHS, CDs, and DVDs. My boyfriend and I split up to cover more ground and naturally, my toddler instantly found toys she wanted. It just so happens that on that specific day they were doing a "fill a bag for $5" deal on clothing. They provide you with a plastic bag and now all you have to do is find things that make you happy. It was easy to find a lot of things I liked and things in my size. What can I say? I'm a lucky shorty. Oh but the fun doesn't stop there. Right across from the thrifty there's ANOTHER store. Score! Are you a little trendy, classy and edgy? Then you'll love it here. The pictures speak for themselves. There's a gift for everyone on your Christmas list and the prices are reasonable. Who knew you could do all your Christmas shopping in one spot? Checkmate. Give them a try and convince me you left empty handed. Doubt it!
