I had been with a doctor for many years who was excellent. I stayed with her when she joined MdVIP. My care did not change. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She spent at least 45 min. with me on every visit. She was caring, knowledgeable, and always available for an appt. within one to two days. She returned phone calls the same day even if she needed to stay past 8:00 PM[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Last year I was notified that she was retiring giving patients only two months notice. I later found out she did not want to retire and was forced out. MdVip still maintains she retired on her own which was completely untrue. They automatically switched me to a new doctor, very young and unexperienced. Does not even have an MD that is valid in the United States, and misrepresented his education to MDVIP and the practice. On my initial visit he spent 10 minutes with me. I am attempting to transfer to a different doctor in the same practice, and MDVIP has made errors three times regarding the fees and the transfer process. His fee was slightly higher, but I knew he had excellent reviews from patients. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After three errors with Mdvip I requested to speak with a manager or supervisor. Twice I was told it would take 1-2 days. When I called again I was told all the supervisors were on other calls[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Either they don't have enough, or they are swamped with calls from people with complaints. I also learned from reading the reviews on Yelp that if you have a Physical, you are then committed to paying the remainder of the year's fee. Also many people stating it is very hard to cancel you contract, or get a refund if you leave. I am hoping this new doctor will be as good as the one who was forced to leave. I will never join with any other Mdvip doctor. I read most of the new ones are right out of Med School, or went to inferior schools overseas. read more

I am currently taking care of my 82-year-old mother with dementia, she has been seeing the same doctor for decades that Dr started being a concierge doctor about 10 years ago. And she's horrible she's fake and she doesn't give a crap about her patience she pretends she does but she does not. It's a Sunday. I've tried calling her with a few questions that I have regarding the opioid medication she was prescribed She was at the hospital for two days last week, nobody can figure out why she's dry heaving. My 81-year-old mother has been a member for many years and was hospitalized three times this year due to the lack of medical attention from her so-called concierge doctor. She obviously no longer wanted to use this doctor as he was not giving her proper medical attention or care. MD VIP would not let her out of her contract and charged her for the entire year when she did not receive services in the first quarter that were adequate, let alone, concierge level!, especially for older people! I have been a loyal patient of HV Family Medicine for almost 20 years and have always trusted their care--so much so that I referred my 76-year-old father to their practice in 2021. Unfortunately, our recent experience has left us extremely disappointed. HV Family Medicine announced they would be transitioning to a membership-based practice starting May 30th (MDVIP). My father had a physical scheduled for May 27th, which was time-sensitive due to a reoccurrence of an infection and required bloodwork. He had to wait for this appointment because of insurance constraints and showed up fasting and prepared. He also received reminders of his appointment. After a 20 minute wait, to our shock, he was denied care on the spot because he was not going to enroll in their new membership program--even though this visit occurred before the official transition date. This isn't just a clerical oversight--this is a patient being turned away, without warning, over policy changes that hadn't yet taken effect. At 76, dealing with recurring health concerns, my father deserved better communication and, more importantly, compassionate care. Isn't there a Hippocratic Oath at the core of this profession? This experience has left us feeling deeply let down by a practice we once trusted. read more

I have been with MDVIP for about 6 or 7 years, with my PCP who I have known for 30 plus years. He is retiring on 3/28/2024. I received an MDVIP letter about 2/21 or so saying he was retiring. It listed 3 other MDVIP docs in the area...or so they say. One is over 30 miles away, one is 17+ miles away and the third is in the hood of new orleans. My semi-annual payment of $900 was processed on 2/29 and I started calling the MDVIP office in Boca Raton FL on 2/29 to request a refund of 5 of the 6 months, or $750. Customer Service reps continue to give me the runaround about WHEN that will happen. I want an immediate refund. I am willing to pay $150 for the last month he's in practice, but want my overpayment of $750 refunded now. I get all sorts of excuses - "their system doesn't work that way. This is the way they have always done it", " you will get your refund after the separation date of my PCP" I asked to speak with a manager - one was supposed to call me within 24-48 hours of 3/5. Today, 3/7 I called again because no one has called me. Then I am told Kim, a supervisor, did call me... and left a voicemail. I call bullshit on that. There is no voicemail message on my iphone from her, or anyone else on 3/6. She insists her "system" has the notation. Everyone says they are going to "elevate" "open a case" etc. to a department that apparently Customer Service cannot 1) transfer my call to 2) give me their number, because they don't have a phone (!!!) REALLY, ???? THIS IS ALL A PLOY TO RUN OUT THE CLOCK, until the date they have to process the refund. Total SCAM .... If my payment hadn't already been scheduled to pay right before I learned my PCP was leaving - I would not have paid another membership fee. They could have just billed me and then I could have taken forever to pay it. Word of advice - IF you do sign up with them, only pay QUARTERLY. They promise and don't deliver. As a very healthy senior I was hoping to get more attention and better guidance to fine tune my health. What I got on the first visit was an hour wait. Ok that happens it's a doctor and he said he had an emergency. No issues there. On the second visit it was 45 mins. Not good but waiting is something I can deal with. Let's get to the more serious issues. Went through the "health assessment " and the blood work looked to be very detailed. The physical was almost comical. Not tailored to the individual at all. Dr suggested a prescription. It didn't arrive at the pharmacy. Sent an email reminder to Dr a few days later. A MONTH LATER he emails me and says he got me mixed up with another patient. I started searching for another Dr. Called many of the MDVIP Drs but couldn't get in for a meet up with prospective Drs. Messages went unanswered so called MDVIP and they were friendly but no help. A good value proposition on the front end, but they become very inflexible and unresponsive if anything changes along the way. They are impossible to speak to - except for some call center folks with a limited script that essentially says "sorry, we can't do anything about it." No address, no email, no other phone number. Hmmm. Anyway, after I called the call center to address a discrepancy in their service, I started receiving letters demanding advanced payments (vice the quarterly billing that we had in place for years.) "This started as a dream" of doctors to provide excellent health care and limit practices to 600 patients, so they can spend time with them. In actuality, most docs are lazy, do what they normally do, in fact less, have more than 600 patients, offices are fuller than the older offices, and their fees are quoted between $1800-2200 a year but are now $2500. I had MDVIP and was in hospital for a major operation and MDVIP doc visited my room once in 5 days and asked if I was doing ok, then left. Another time, my wife was there, I was sleeping and he just decided not to bother me. Didn't know what meds I was on, whereas I had previously had another operation a few years earlier, with a doc, who subsequently retired. He was there every day for 10 days. I guess the Concierge Fee is just going to pay all the executives salaries. Their billing makes mistakes, so those that had the original dream , either lost it or found a way of making more money. read more

I have an amazing Dr. Who I absolutely love but thanks to MDVIP my family and I will be finding a knew Doctor immediately. MDvIP is a joke and are causing good doctors to loose patients! I made two payments Friday before last only to have 1 payment canceled by mdvip with no explanation and no one knows or can tell me why. Spent over an hour on the phone with them and no answers. This caused me to miss an important appointment and unable to get my medication. Call back this Friday because account still isn't unlocked. They were supposed to unlock the account immediately. Here we are on Monday account still isn't unlocked and I still can't get meds. Called back first thing this morning and I'm told he is calling the Dr and let them know immediately so I can get my meds. Wait all day only to hear nothing back. I call the Dr and they never heard from them. Call MDVIP back and now all of a sudden I'm being told that I need to pay another $100 no one has ever mentioned this previously but at this point I dont even care what I have to pay I just need my medication. I actually needed it 5 days ago but I have to have it today because Im leaving to go out of town. So I pay another $100 to afterwards be told that my payment wont post until midnight and I won't be able to get my meds filled until tomorrow. I will not continue to pay someone thousands of dollars when they make it so difficult and damn near impossible to fill your meds. Nor will I continue paying thousands of dollars for such shit service Idc how good the doctor is. I will be finding a new Dr. Asap not because of the Dr. himself but because of MDVIP. read more

Don't do it. The salesperson, Grant, misled me about the refund policy. The contract language is confusing, evidenced by the fact that the salespeople who work for the company don't even understand it. Based on what the salesperson told me after I specifically asked about the refund policy, I thought I would have recourse should I decide to cancel my membership before completing the wellness program. That was not correct. The company is refusing to refund any of my $500+ even though their employee gave me inaccurate information. The response I received from Rachel, who is a supervisor, is that MDVIP DOES NOT make exceptions. As I see more reviews about MDVIP, I am learning that many others have experienced this same issue, which leads me to believe that their salespeople are deliberately misleading people. I have used MD/VIP in California, and had a terrific doctor. Unfortunately we moved out of state, and no doctors are available. I have called, and called and finally called corporate yesterday. Let's see if I get a response. I guess it depends on the state, as I had a virus a few weeks ago and I got in same day in Michigan. However the program needs to be consistent and trustworthy...thus far, I still do not have a primary care doctor where we moved. read more

A friend had some money problems and needed to convert from annual to quarterly billing, and in the process, get reimbursement on the then overpaid (3 quarters) fee. These are usually involve unhappy, money matters. The friend wanted to retain his physician. So I read many of these reviews and apparently care is different everywhere. It has more to do with the doctors office than the company MDVIP. One person said there is not VIP service. However, VIP does not mean very important person, it means value in prevention. Where I am takes 60-90 minutes to do the preventative testing. And the doctor himself for the results appointment takes 90 minutes or more to go over the results. Unfortuantely, no, it is not in all states. For the person who said "an extra 10 minutes with the doctor". It is not just that. There is also 24/7 access to the doctor with the personal phone number for the doctor. It is important to note that each doctor's office still runs the way they run, they are just able to provide the extra benefit of the wellness program. By the way, it is NOT a concierge program, it is a wellness program. read more

This is a total SCAM. My long-time doctor joined this group so I followed her as she was good. When she retired, there were only two doctors in my area and I assumed -- incorrectly -- that MDVIP had vetted them as they CLAIM they have experienced doctors. The doctor I got was right out of med school. She had NO idea how to run an office and the office was a total SH*&T Show. I drove an hour for a test they claimed they had only to be told they now couldn't find it so they'd need to order another one and I'd have to come back. My surgeon sent them a list of tests I needed to have prior to surgery, sent them a notice that they had not done all the tests, and they didn't contact me so my surgery got cancelled while I was on the table in the ER and my daughter wasted $2000 on a futile trip to care for me. And after an auto accident, the doctor was not willing to send me for an x-ray or MRI although I could barely walk and was in terrible pain. I finally had to go to another doctor (not in this group) to get the appropriate tests after six months of pain and THEN I got a diagnosis. Believe it or not, when I called to ask that I be scheduled for a mammogram, the RECEPTIONIST told me I only needed one every few years -- told me this despite a strong family history (mother, aunt, and cousins) of breast cancer. UNBELIEVABLE. The doctor also made it clear not to disturb her outside of office hours and never called with a test result. When I called to complain about: (1) their failure to vette the doctor when they represented they had experienced doctors; (2) the issues I had experienced, they refused to cancel my membership and bilked me for another $1000. I personally believe all of these concierge services are great for the Doctors but horrible for the patient. Adding $1800 dollars or more for many who are on a fixed income represents a major dent in budgets already squeezed hard by medical costs. What they provide they call additional benefits are for most meaningless or of no value except perhaps their physical. You still pay for visits, Meds,Testing and don't forget Social Security if you are of that age and all premium costs for your supplement if you have one and what do you get.? More time with your physician . A cell phone number to call or text and a little more personal help but in most cases you see your family physician twice to three times a year. That amounts to $600 dollars an appointment to MDVIP plus your Doctors cost $250 to $300 per appointment bringing your total per cost for three appointments pushing $1,000 Dollars . If you are okay with 15 minute appointments and a little less personal service save your money and don't go with this company. The cost for this extra service IS NO bargain and not much better than a non concierge practice. I see it as a rip off particularly to the elderly. read more

It costs $1800 a year, and if you try to leave once you have a 'wellness' visit (mine was 20 minutes) then you owe the entire $1800. I explained that a wellness visit does not cost $1800, and they said it's 'in the fine print' so you are liable for the entire year, even if your insurance or job changes. I do not understand the benefit to me and my wife on this. We have been seeing our Primary Care Physcian for over 20 years. No issues with wait time, good call back, easy to get an appointment, he knows us. Now he is joining this middle man company and each of us have to pay $2000 to keep going to this doctor. So at total of $4000 before we have anything done. You still have to pay for insurance, deductibles, copays etc. The only benefit is for the doctor who will be getting stable salary and I guess more time off. Wish I could have that in my business. I was excited to have a concierge doctor. What a disappointment it became. I had been on medication for 10 years that worked extremely well. He took me off that to try a "better Choice" then used that change to require blood lab tests every 6 weeks. The lab tests were free to me but my insurance company was paying exorbitant prices for them. I was then required to come in to the office , $40 charge, to" talk" about results, then scheduled for more lab tests again. The better choice was not better either. I'm leaving but since it's not been a year yet I still have to pay for the concierge service for a year. What a rip off!!! I was somewhat forced into MDVIP since my doctor of 20 years joined and I did not want to change doctors at that point. My doctor had a good wellness plan. You get a few more tests, but I did not notice any other improvements over what happened in the first 20 years. Over the years, they kept raising the price and eliminating benefits (you get to go to Labcorp now!). One time my daughter, who lived in Florida, had a serious illness which was thought to be lyme disease, but no one could diagnose it. I found an MDVIP physician who was a general practitioner and an infectious disease specialist. I tried to make an appointment, but they would not see her. Under the rules, they were obligated to see her. That was one of the benefits. No one cared. Turned out, she did have lyme disease and the delay made things much worse. However, the killer (literally) was when they started sending out New York times propaganda on COVID disguised as medical info. Most disturbing is that they had no treatment protocol. Take the vax. Take the booster. Take another. If that doesn't work, go to the hospital and die because they don't have an effective treatment protocol either. There was no informed consent. Just consent. MDVIP is not quite the organization they claim to be. I have lived in 2 cities and had 2 physicians affiliated with MDVIP. My 1st MDVIP practice was in Littleton. CO and my physician was compassionate, available, clinically sound and with my career being on the road 50 weeks a year, access to my MD by phone and even some referrals to fellow MDVIP Practices was very helpful. My most recent MDVIP physician was a nice guy and good doctor but was not very available. Meanwhile, MDVIP used to tout their managing of your EHR, the availability of wellness programs and a general management of your health. That part of their business is gone. They are now providing virtually nothing for members. They offer fewer services and charge more money. They don't respond to requests for information, have poor customer service and have no interest in their patient members. I resigned my membership over 3 months ago and they are bombarding me with form letters and have officially terminated my membership! 3 months late but OK with me. I would never do business with MDVIP again. read more

This review is for the MDVIP system and not for my doctor. I pay the Annual membership because I like my doctor and I don't want switch doctors. I think it's ridiculous that I must pay the co-pay for my wellness exam in addition to the MDVIP dues. I understand that I might need to pay the copay if I go to the doctor when I'm sick. It's overcharging to pay for the membership and still pay for a exam. I've talked with MDVIP reps about this and all they can say is, "It's not insurance " ( which I am fully aware of). Also they say, " You get this extensive wellness exam. Again, I'm aware of this. You would think there would some coupons, vitamin samples, anything sent to you. You can look up exercises and recipes on the app, but google is just as good. Basically, you get NOTHING from MDVIP. My doctor is great.....but MDVIP is (in my opinion) not so hot. read more

If I could give MDVIP xero stars, I would. In my opinion, they are a complete scam and total waste of money. My husband and I have been going to our physician for 10 years. 5 years ago she signed on with MDVIP and things have been going down hill ever since. Before signing on to MDVIP she was already a concierge doctor -- she didn't take insurance and you paid her approx. $350 per hour for services. For us, this was great. We knew going in how much we would pay and she spent as much time as needed during each visit. We also prepaid for blood work and knew at each appointment what the lab work would cost. When she signed up with MDVIP we were told that our yearly physical and blood work would be covered in the annual membership fee (now $1800 per year, per person). I was hesitant, but we really liked our doctor so we signed up. We soon found out that neither the annual physical nor blood work is actually covered. They provide you an annual "wellness visit" which consists of a pre-physical with a nurse where she takes your blood pressure, administers a hearing test and conducts an EKG. The actual physical is NOT covered in the annual fee. Although they say that blood work is covered, we get a bill from the lab every year -- on my husband's last yearly physical he received a lab bill for $455. Prior to signing up with MDVIP our doctor didn't take insurance. Personally, I prefer this. When I went for an appointment I knew exactly what I was paying for and how much it would cost. Now, with MDVIP, our doctor is filing all visits through insurance; since she is no longer "approved" by our insurance company we inevitably end up paying for every visit. Even though we pay $3600 per year no one in the office can tell me the price of an office visit or in-office procedure so now it's always an unpleasant surprise when we get the bill. In summation, I see no value in being a part of MDVIP. For us, it's simply a $3600 fee for the privilege of continuing to see our doctor. read more

My mother fell for this service she is 93 years old when i found out what she had done i started to look it over she paid two thousand dollars she received all the info from MDVP most of your inquiries are done over the computer she does not have a computer nor does she know how to use one .I tried to log on with the info they provided LOL good luck I tried to set up an apt with her DR as a test so far no one has returned our call from his office and his physicians assistant who was great has left the office .
