After getting several opinions and bids, we opted to hire Craftsmen Home Improvements to do the job. Every step of the process was professional and timely. They were very polite and respected our property. These are very well-trained professionals who know the correct way to do a job - and they do it that way! The completed project looks beautiful - we are very pleased! We fully recommend Craftsmen Home Improvements and will absolutely hire them again should the need arise.

Getting quotes. I also needed a SS sleeve for my 2nd chimney. I was going to use BlueSky Chimney but they just "BLUE" me off!! Lol. I was chatting with the owner David for about a month trying to plan things out over chat because he gave me his cell number because he apparently doesn't have an office phone. I went with FireSide Hearth and Home and couldn't be happier with not using Blue Sky. In response to the owner Dave's response. First. The customer is always right. It's pathetic you're bad mouthing a customer online. Shows just who you are. 2nd Why on earth would I stalk you I found you're replacement in two minutes on google. Dave lied and said I was harassing him. I put a photo screenshot on this review of my chat with David and his response in case he deletes his to my review. I texted within business hours and everything. You can see that I didn't text him months ago and he texted back within a few weeks not months ago like he says then just went dark. Also you'll see that he just lied in this review to all you customers. You can see he didn't block me and in fact read the texts as iMessages says on the screenshot. He ignored all my questions and then lied about it. I wonder why considering I just gave Fireside $8000. Dave I call you a LIAR and a con man. I'm so lucky you showed me this without wasting a dime on you. And yes I will enjoy my new Heat N Glow gas fireplace and liner.

He squeezed us into his busy schedule and his crew were able to finish our job within a couple days of work. Very painless process and we're thrilled with our updated patio. I feel like that speaks for itself.

I hired this company about three years ago to redo my patio, steps and too small slabs. It was…read morestamped and stained (only on top) the colors they chose didn't match or flow, but the owner or manager (Chad) convinced me to wait a year because it will fade out. They also removed all my very old (collected) flagstone that was in a small garden connected to the patio, WITHOUT my permission! I contacted Chad to have it brought back and he told me that it was disposed of, sorry.. no offer to replace this stones. I paid $10,000 cash for this job. In less than two years, I had a crack going from the base of my steps all the way across the landing and out the other side and several large rock pops, the patio looked bad. I contacted the owner, he sent a guy out in May, whom told me that my patio looked bad from the street, he told me that they can fix the crack etc and will add another sealant and would return by June 10th, they never showed. A few weeks later I contacted the owner again to let him know that nobody came, it was towards the end of the season and he said that they were booked up but would put me at the first of the list for Spring when weather is permitted, to contact him then. I contacted him when he asked me to, I was then told that he was already booked and to call him back in about a month. I reminded him that we did this back-and-forth thing last spring, they were right now show and this was the second season I had to have my patio cleared off for them and was unable to use it and I would not be calling him every couple weeks to be added in and that I was supposed to be at the top of the list and done first. He wrote me back and stated that he would contact me the first week of June and get some thing figured out. I was never contacted, instead one of his employees showed up the last week of May and told my son that we needed to have the patio cleared off because he was coming to power-wash it. I had to clear my patio off at 11:30 PM that night when I got home from work. His employees showed up the next day and power washed it twice, skip a day then showed up the following day unannounced and stained my patio a very dark red to brown color, without my permission and without me being home, no cracks or holes were fixed. My patio looks horrible, it looked better messed up, I hate it! I was livid, I contacted the owner to ask him what he told his employee to do, that I did not authorize that and I don't want it like that, that it is extremely ugly, it is very dirty looking and he sprayed over some rust spots instead of clearing them. The owner returned my message with a, "That was nice... We went out of our way to fit you in." (You mean you did your damn job?!) He states that the crack and the rock pops are with in normal range and common in this Minnesota weather and they can't fix them and that I would have to wait a year to see how am I staying faded, but first he argued that they didn't stain it at all and that my patio was just dirty to begin with, to which I stated, "How is that possible when they were the ones who sealed it to begin with and his employee power washed it twice?!" ‍ Chad then went on to tell me that they could come back next year and grind it down if I wanted to pay them to do that, I stated "Why would I pay you to do something I didn't ask you to do to begin with?!?" He went on to tell me that it didn't matter if I took him to small claims court because they were the best concrete company in the city and they do the best work, I told him that if he was willing to put the work he did on my patio on the front page of his website and Facebook page to show their great craftsmanship for a minimum of 30 days I would keep it as is and let it go, he did or not respond and has now blocked my messages. Very unprofessional and unorganized with a lack of customer service skills. Within the last three years, with this company and one other company that I've had update my house, I've spent $17,000 I've had poor work done by two different companies, this shouldn't be allowed to happen and I am beyond tired of paying good money for poor work!

The workmanship is excellent--the aggregate exposure is consistent, the edges and steps are crisp, and the curves and transitions were beautifully done. Even though the crew had the company's drawing. They did tear these out and replace them but not without complaint and attempted blame shifting. Then they replaced a large portion of our driveway and it flaked, peeled, and spaled the first winter .No salt was used on it and it saw little actual traffic. They did replace 1/2 of this area at no charge however it is just as bad now. Again no salt and minimal traffic. They did ask us what we think caused it..IDK they are the "experts" They have instructed us to pressure wash and seal the affected area. This "concrete" is not solid enough to withstand much washing... In the end we wasted our home improvement dollars on sub par quality that will not hold up at all. A very poor choice on our part.
