Great experience hiring MCS for a new water softener installation. I live in Yorba Linda and had been given the name of a company that was an authorized installer of Puronics systems in the area. That company came out, didn't provide any literature and verbally explained what they offered and quoted some ridiculously high prices. Then I was driving home one day and saw a service truck for MCS in my neighborhood that had graphics on it that said they installed Puronics systems. I spoke to that technician and he came over to look at my existing worn out system. He had literature explaining all their offerings and quoted prices that were much lower than the other authorized installer had offered. He gave me the quote on a Friday and three days later on Monday, they finished the installation in about 3 hours. The completed installation looked very professional. In setting up and testing the system, the installer (Jun) fine tuned the settings for the hardness of the incoming city water, the number of people in the household, the system regeneration timing (# of days), etc. while continuing to check the outgoing Puronics water for the correct softness (with a chemical test) after each adjustment. He then explained to me the functions and operation of the control panel. In summary, I'm very satisfied with MCS Water Technology for their pricing, installation and quality of technicians. My lesson learned is to check if there are other authorized installers in neighboring areas for an item you're shopping for. In my case, I found a gem of a company in MCS that was just a few miles away in Rowland Heights. read more

When the water purifier in my shop suddenly broke down, I contacted the original company that supplied it for repairs. At first, they proposed: $210 to replace the filter, plus $180 to install a new machine (the machine itself not included). I explained that I already had an unused backup unit of the same brand and model, also purchased from them. I only needed the old unit removed and the spare one installed, without replacing the filter. Based on their original logic, it should have just been the $180 installation fee. However, they changed their story and said that removing and reinstalling would cost $360 -- then added, "We can charge you $280." After that, they strongly pushed me to buy a brand-new machine for $700-800, with installation charged separately. The technician even claimed that removing the machine would cause continuous leaking because he "couldn't find the water valve," and that many parts would be needed for replacement. But the valve was right next to the machine, clearly visible. As a professional, saying he couldn't find the valve was hard to understand. If they had been transparent from the beginning -- for example, clearly stating $180 service fee plus $100 additional part -- I might have accepted it. But constantly changing the quote, exaggerating the difficulty, and steering me toward buying a new machine only made me feel like they saw me as an easy target. In the end, I handled it myself. The whole process took less than 10 minutes. No extra parts were needed -- just turning off the water valve, disconnecting the tubing, and reconnecting it to complete the swap. Sigh... I understand that every business wants to make money, but the way you do it really matters. read more
