I was a client of Peninsula and contacted the center in early July due to having a mental crisis. My call was unanswered that day. I was seeking help in the moment of my life in which I needed it most. I was on the verge of suicide. I received a call back the next day and was left multiple voicemails from staff inquiring about my call the previous day. I had since decided to disconnect from communications as I wanted to just recover mentally, alone. I did not answer any of the calls to me from the Peninsula center, nor did I return any calls to the center. On July 13, 2022, Peninsula Psychological center charged me $125.00 for those voicemails left by their staff. The medical bill sent to me stated the charge was for 30-39 minutes of call time. I received about ten 30 second voicemails. I was then contacted my phone multiple times by Cory Moore, who works as a financial lead for the company to demand payment for services. She left multiple voicemails indicating she's attempted to run my credit card for the fraudulent services and her tone was seeming to become frustrated that she couldn't get ahold of me to get payment. I contacted Peninsula center on 9/1/2022 and explained how they fraudulently attempted to steal my money. It must really hit a nerve because I was quickly shuffled up a chain of command through Leslie Savage, the director of Peninsula until speaking to Mireille Reece, West coast VP for Refresh Mental health based out of Ft.Lauderdale Florida, who is the parent company to Peninsula. After hearing my case the only action Ms. Reece thought appropriate was to offer an apology to me, and to clear the $125.00 charge from my account. Either this company has a huge problem with billing oversight or they are committing these acts intentionally - either look like criminal proceedings to me, and I'm sure to many thousand others who have had this happen to them. If a single person like me, has gotten this bill for fraudulent services, imagine how many others must be out there and even more, how many fraudulent services have been billed to insurance or medicare/medicaid. I insist that those that have power look into the workings of Refresh Mental Health and all of their practices and centers nationwide, because I cannot be the only one this has happened to. I want to prevent this company from committing fraud upon others, and help to shine a light so that they may be held accountable for misdeeds in the past. I am writing this because this is a prime example of the dishonestly and fraud that is rampant in the healthcare system today and I hope this statement helps others come forward and report your experience with this fraudulent company. Peninsula Psychological center and Refresh Mental Health market themselves as a mental health provider, but its predatory actions tell a completely opposite story. Peninsula Psychological center and Refresh Mental Health are supposed to be there for people in the most vulnerable times of their life, in instead choose to try and take advantage of their client, and sent me a bill for a fraudulent service.

We never received a report, follow up documentation, a response from the doctor... nothing. For what it's worth, the practice promises to deliver a full written report within 4-6 weeks of the evaluation. It's now just days short of being August 2025. If I didn't do my job for EIGHT MONTHS, I'd have been fired long ago. Unfortunately for us, he is the owner of NW Family Psychology so we're essentially screwed. I've reached out to his office gal, Valerie, at least two dozen times since December and all she can do is apologize profusely and say she'll send him another reminder. I've even emailed him directly - no responses received, of course. Because he's not delivered the service paid for by our insurance company, I look forward to filing a complaint directly with them. He should not have been paid to ghost his client. Absolutely insane. I've given far more grace and time than deserved. How is Dr. Tutty still in business?!

She keeps having everyone's negative reviews removed. Some of us women have talked to each other. These are normal, trustworthy people, members of my community who are well-respected, having very similar horrific experiences with her. She makes it easy for the abuser to schedule with her, while lying to the abused, lots of rescheduling and canceling, even without notice, and gaslighting, claiming appointments scheduled in writing were never scheduled, even when there are several written confirmations. She then uses her assistant as an excuse and curtain to hide behind and reports that the abuser is participating and the victim isn't. Her input about co-parenting communication is confusing, aggressive, time-draining, irrelevant, worsens communication significantly, and she contradicts herself frequently. She carelessly forgets who her clients are and then hides that by verbally attacking. She teaches incredibly controlling and damaging men how to hide behind tricky language, while forbidding their victims of using many words and speaking of many actions that have occurred. Basically she becomes a teammate in the abuse. She increases her role with recommendations (that you will become afraid to refuse) to add more and more family members, groups, one-on-one appointments, etc, and uses changing contracts on her portal, that are considered signed once opened, to trap victims more and more. She used psychological tactics like disarming, followed by suddenly several rapid-fire attacks, followed by questions about my finances to plot what she could take from my family in a very vulnerable time. It was clear she was plotting how to move towards forcing reunification camps for my children, as she has done to others, and she kept saying things that never happened and had nothing to do with our situation, more and more, trying to force a bizarre narrative. It's extremely rare to meet a person this controlling, calculated and deceitful, and willing to destroy innocent people's lives for power and financial incentive. There is no care or humanity to be found here. Run!
