Shout out to to Emily and her coworkers and the front desk at the KPT location at Haselwood YMCA…read more The last thing I wanted to do was to move my knee after a complete knee replacement. After my 1st appt I knew I was in good hands. Emily made you feel you were gonna do this and I was going to get better, and I did. She never pushed you it was all about what you were comfortable with and doing your homework. Here I am 6 months later there isn't anything I say no to. The gardening is getting done. I am a member at YMCA so I could exercise before or after my appointment. ,

Towards the end of my time there I had 3 different phone calls to try and reschedule a session to earlier in the day. The front desk told me it wasn't them and probably not the therapist. Eventually the therapist admitted she had them calling. Mind you I had told everyone I work a full time job and cannot come in earlier than my assigned time. Iced frustrating with being interrupted at work. Lastly I had mention 7 months ago that I was owed money since insurance was covering all of it and the clinic owed me money back. I mentioned it a couple of times to no avail. Well 7 months later I finally got the money I was owed. I had been a returning client. Sadly I will most likely not use this location again.

From the Doctor's and PA's, to the Nurses and Aid's, to the front desk staff and Housekeepers, everyone we interacted with was caring and responsive to every need. A hospice journey is never easy, but Northwoods made it as easy as possible for all concerned, especially Carol. I specifically want to call out Steve, Alex, and Kiki for the outstanding work they did. Being an aid for someone who can no longer care for themself has got to be one of the toughest jobs in the world. The dignity, respect, and skill they showed Carol was truly noticed and appreciated. The owner who I was working with suggested I cease OT and attend PT with the last few visits. I truly thought she was on my side and made a good point. Unfortunately I was not in a good headspace but I thought that was a good idea. I lost my last near resource to me. I emailed her back in august (we communicated by email and never by phone) agreeing to her suggestion and why I'd want more visits and to see if she'd send it off to the insurance company because she did say she'd write a report and do that and wanted my list. At the end of the email I asked questions about what was next and if she'd email me back if visits got approved or how that would work. I know my email went through because I got the "away message." Months went by and no contact. I was dropped like a hot potato. I recently emailed her to followup (also got the "away message") and inform her of a few more details, maybe that would help me. Nothing. It hurts. I'm not sure I'd go back either. It was my only ND resource (because as we adults all know there is nothing in thurston county for adults). And now this happens. 2026: Sent email 4/30 asking about obtaining my records. Received an email from Alice 5/13 and exchanged emails over a month's time with no clear indication of when I could get them. They've gone electronic, moved, and were in a box somewhere. Owner could not access them. I would also have to pay for them. 6/3 someone told me they couldn't provide the cost until Jacqueline could physically get them and then they'd contact me with an update. I'm pretty sure they lied to me like everyone else does to me. I sent an email 7/6 checking on this status, no response. It's now 8/3 and have heard zilch from them. You will never be a valued patient with this place. They lie and shouldn't be in operation. at this point I should get my records for free.

The staff at BI Health and Rehab, from the food servers and room cleaners to the Director of Nursing and Executive Director, was well trained, extraordinarily polite and caring, and dedicated to the safety and comfort of the patients/residents. Most importantly, the culture appears to be 100% patients/residents focused, with staff such as the nurses, CNAs, aides and cleaning staff all treating patients/residents with dignity as patients cope with needing help with bodily functions, etc. that they can no longer do themselves. All in all, I can't recommend BI Health and Rehab highly enough.

His wealth of experience in assessing patient's status and incrementally layering on exercises to get back function, mobility, and recover lost lifestyle is a gift to any patient. He is masterful in terms of reading in and knowledge of the physical therapy field and can reference current research into the effectiveness of specific treatment protocols. I had him for months at a stretch for a torn ACL (knee injury) and a torn meniscus (also knee injury). Simultaneously I was dealing with painful feet (plantar fascitis). He switched between the two overlapping issues and methodically addressed each with appropriate interventions and protocols of movement and care. He is a credit to this Clinic. I've also worked with Johnathan, equally expert, and Jacquie their supervisor is wonderful. The front desk is cheery, efficient, and very positive. Their equipment layout is spacious, and they have multiple rooms, private consulting rooms, bathrooms and a sense of roominess. Bodywork by KPT, specifically working with Kara S., has been immensely beneficial to my overall wellness and improved mobility as well as athletic performance. Kara's expertise in anatomy, physical therapy strategies and myofascial release is evident in our sessions. She creates individualized plans to address problem areas such as my recent knee pain during hill descents. Kara's commitment to fitness and mobility is truly inspiring. Kara isn't asking you to do anything she isn't already mastering at the clinic or in the gym. Each session starts with a brief check in on how I'm doing, heat compresses and targeted bodywork. There are guided stretching and exercises to incorporate post-session. We then work on specific exercises for me to build on from previous sessions. When we first met, she did a thorough evaluation of my mobility, balance and coordination. She also filmed me running to address running form. Through our ongoing sessions, I have experienced noticeable improvements in knee strength, which has played a significant role in alleviating pain and enhancing my performance both on the trails and during gym workouts. These positive changes have allowed me to pursue my athletic activities with greater confidence and reduced discomfort. If you are looking to address a specific issue and/or overall performance, I highly recommend Bodywork by KPT!
