Peninsula Psychological center, which is a part of Refresh Mental health is conducting fraud.....let me explain. I was a client of Peninsula and contacted the center in early July due to having a mental crisis. My call was unanswered that day. I was seeking help in the moment of my life in which I needed it most. I was on the verge of suicide. I received a call back the next day and was left multiple voicemails from staff inquiring about my call the previous day. I had since decided to disconnect from communications as I wanted to just recover mentally, alone. I did not answer any of the calls to me from the Peninsula center, nor did I return any calls to the center. On July 13, 2022, Peninsula Psychological center charged me $125.00 for those voicemails left by their staff. The medical bill sent to me stated the charge was for 30-39 minutes of call time. I received about ten 30 second voicemails. I was then contacted my phone multiple times by Cory Moore, who works as a financial lead for the company to demand payment for services. She left multiple voicemails indicating she's attempted to run my credit card for the fraudulent services and her tone was seeming to become frustrated that she couldn't get ahold of me to get payment. I contacted Peninsula center on 9/1/2022 and explained how they fraudulently attempted to steal my money. It must really hit a nerve because I was quickly shuffled up a chain of command through Leslie Savage, the director of Peninsula until speaking to Mireille Reece, West coast VP for Refresh Mental health based out of Ft.Lauderdale Florida, who is the parent company to Peninsula. After hearing my case the only action Ms. Reece thought appropriate was to offer an apology to me, and to clear the $125.00 charge from my account. Either this company has a huge problem with billing oversight or they are committing these acts intentionally - either look like criminal proceedings to me, and I'm sure to many thousand others who have had this happen to them. If a single person like me, has gotten this bill for fraudulent services, imagine how many others must be out there and even more, how many fraudulent services have been billed to insurance or medicare/medicaid. I insist that those that have power look into the workings of Refresh Mental Health and all of their practices and centers nationwide, because I cannot be the only one this has happened to. I want to prevent this company from committing fraud upon others, and help to shine a light so that they may be held accountable for misdeeds in the past. I am writing this because this is a prime example of the dishonestly and fraud that is rampant in the healthcare system today and I hope this statement helps others come forward and report your experience with this fraudulent company. Peninsula Psychological center and Refresh Mental Health market themselves as a mental health provider, but its predatory actions tell a completely opposite story. Extremely rude, unprofessional office staff. No compassion or empathy for patients in a field where those traits are of utmost importance. Took me over two weeks to finally schedule an appointment since I was given either no information or incorrect information multiple times. Once I was finally given proper guidance, the receptionist was combative and condescending instead of just apologizing for my experience with them. Front desk staff is rude and unfriendly. They seemed very bothered that i walked in with a coffee to which i tossed due to their sign stating no food or drink. I sat in waiting room listening to their personal conversations and upon a patient checking in, they were annoyed. Hence the reason the dr.s have their own patient notification buttons? For a health care facility dealing with mental health, i guess i expected greater compassion and kindness?? As far as the dr.s WONDERFUL... considerate, bright and super to work with. To bad they are are outshined by their impressionable front desk staff. Last, beware. If you miss an appointment ( i even called and told them we were working with school counselor and my sons physician now on ) AND you assume the reception staff get your message, you will be charged still! Quit disrespecting your patients by not doing your jobs properly. The first time, I sat in the waiting room for an hour because someone didn't properly document on a schedule. The same person didn't say anything to the doctor when the doctor said their good-byes for the day like "oh hey, you have a patient that's been waiting". Today, the doctor forgot that we had a session and double booked. I'm tired of wasting my time and gas. Someone owes me a co-pay refund. read more

HORRIBLE!! Staff unfriendly! They see you every week for over 3 months and never mention a copay, next thing you know you have a $1,000 bill. Don't dare miss an appointment, the only way you won't get dinged an $80 missed appointment fee is if you're dead. Mr. Reilley...., good luck with that guy! This place is terrible. They have no idea how to run a psychological center. It's not easy to get in and they always seem to mess up the dates or "just forget". They don't seem to see mental illnesses as actual illnesses and treat them like a stubbed toe. Please do not go here. read more

I have had my daughter referred to this office two different times. Our first experience was horrible. The dr she saw at least four times seemed as if we had just met him for the first time at every visit. Very frustrating. The front desk check in is very unique, however the front office staff assumes everyone knows what to do and ignores anyone who walks in the door. I sat there 10-15 minutes once until I realized people were pushing buttons, I finally got one of the front desk women to look up and they confirmed that yes, you check in by pushing the button by the doctors name. Never mentioned that to us, ever. We finally stopped coming in. The second time we were referred I agreed to try again, but definitely wanted a different doctor for my daughter. Same negative review of the front office, maybe one pleasant interaction at our very first visit. The front desk seems to have been trained to treat patients as if they are invisible. The new doctor did not impress. In my opinion if someone is obviously new to therapy the doctor should do their best to explain how it works and make you comfortable, not stare and wait for you to start asking questions. My daughter was not happy with any of her visits...14 years old and she's asking her to draw pictures , and the next visit she asked what she might be interested in and then spent the entire session online printing information on the mentioned interest. At the last visit I stopped by the front desk at checkout to tell them we are moving, not one glance up until I started to turn away and leave, at that point I didn't want anymore to do with them. I wish I could give 0 stars!!! The receptionist here are absolutely horrible!!!! I don't have enough experience with the therapist to give a review, I have actually decided to go somewhere else. For a company that works so closely with people who may be suffering with mental issues you would think they would make it a priority for clients to be seen when they call to Make an appointment. I called on May 29 and left a message during business hours 11:00am... they never returned my call. Two days later I called them again and spoke to the front desk. They took my information and said a call will be returned to me. I received a call several days later. They asked me more questions so they can fit me and my needs with the right therapist and assured me they will call me back. No call was ever returned to me!!!
