We saw him for about eight years after our longtime doctor retired, and before we retired and moved out of state. I wish we still had him. I recommend him highly, especially if you don't need your hand held or require fawning attention.

In the times I have dealt with him…read moreas being my PCP, I have never ever felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable as I have, in these past 3 weeks of seeing him. I have been dealing with a major back issue and I patiently waited to be scheduled to see Dr. Chira. I understand during COVID-19 times now, that everything can be more slow-paced and a health risk; however, I felt as if I was put on the back burner. I had to head to the ER in order for myself to get any type of doctor's note for my job. I did not feel comfortable going back to work in my condition and wanted to get answers! A week and a half later, I finally did see Dr. Chira, and there was still no proper diagnosis. I, myself, recommended to get a MRI done to get a better understanding of what's going on with my back. Also, to see what issues are going on. I had 1 more follow-up appointment with Dr. Chira after that; that being after my MRI was done and results were in. Still no clear-cut answers from him. I had to continually repeat with him what medications I am on; as well as what I have been doing since my back injury. It's as if he didn't remember anything I had told him prior? Not to mention Dr. Chira explicitly wanted me to call my pharmacy to "double-check" what medications I am on so there is no "confusion." I was dumbfounded and couldn't believe my PCP was not believing me. Dr. Chira handled my diagnosis with no clear-cut answers. I had to bring up physical therapy as an option. I expressed concern and interest in Short Term Disability because my back injury is going to take a lot more time that I had imagined apparently. I am looking out for the wealth fare of my job! Dr. Chira cringed at my vocal expression with STD! Why? I was looking for guidance and reassurance. I was looking for help and concern. All I received was disconnect and lack of empathy. Lastly, when Dr. Chira brought up what I do for work, he mentioned maybe I should find another job? How can I make that assumption when I need to make sure and take care of my issue first. Especially before I can decided anything like that? He was not helping me with responses such as that! Not to mention one of his office receptionists, a Miss Stacey. The very few times I spoke with her over the phone in these last 3 weeks, was, only a complete disregard for my feelings and disrespectfulness. I am finding a new PCP and have no intention of going back to Dr. Chira. He failed me as my PCP; and that's saying a lot for me considering I had been seeing him for almost 10 years. But it was time for this decade's tuneup, so after examining the list of available primary care providers, I made an appointment with Dr. Jain. I am so pleasantly surprised! The office is small (in a good sort of way) and very idyllically set in a modernized old stone building with views of fields from the waiting room window. The staff are very nice and treat you like an individual, rather than just another piece of the crowd. The phlebotomist, in particular is very sweet and put me at ease, drawing the blood samples quickly and smoothly. Dr. Jain is focused and approachable, takes her time and answers questions clearly. She is thorough and definitely gives me the impression she knows her stuff. One of my complaints was that I had lost some high end hearing in my left ear. I thought it was due to my old habit of standing next to speakers at punk rock shows, but Dr. Jain peered into my ear, and found fluid behind the ear dream. She directed me to take sudafed and lo and behold, after one dose, I can hear out of the left ear as well as the right! I hope I won't need her services too often, but I am really glad I found Dr. Jain!

The office in Maynard was fast, clean, friendly and efficient. As new patients we were registered and in a room within 5 minutes. The back room is set up similar to an ER with the doctor/ nurses station in the middle and all the patients' rooms in a larger square surrounding it. X-Rays were taken right across the hall. The doctors were able to confer with our orthopedist and pediatrician. The staff was excellent! Friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend going here.

I was seen right away by a very professional nurse & my vitals were taken & she inquired about the reason for my visit. The doctor sent me in for an X-ray prior to seeing me. Dr McDonald then explained he didn't see any major injury but after questioning me, was concerned about a possible blood clot.
