I also asked for copies of my dental X-rays, but the office sent low-resolution images that weren't usable for follow-up care. Because of that, I had to pay to get new X-rays taken at another dental office. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this practice.

When I called to ask about the charge, I was told that my insurance did not cover certain portions of the retainers I received because of "age restrictions." What is frustrating is that before agreeing to the retainers, I specifically asked the front desk multiple times whether my insurance would cover them because I did not want to pay a large amount out of pocket. I was assured that everything was good to go and was told exactly what my portion would be. Based on that information, I agreed to move forward. Now, 8 months later, I am being asked to pay an additional amount. I understand that ultimately insurance determines what they will cover, but I wish the office had been upfront about the possibility that these services might not be covered instead of assuring me that they would be. Had I known this beforehand, I may have made a different decision. I was also encouraged by the dentist to get the plastic retainers, which I agreed to because I trusted his recommendation, even though I already had a permanent retainer. Unfortunately, this experience has caused me to lose trust in the office, and I have decided not to return. I would recommend that patients verify coverage directly with their insurance company before agreeing to services rather than relying solely on what they are told by the office. An unexpected bill nearly 8 months later is extremely disappointing.

I also reconfirmed in person before the appointment that there would be no charge. It was just a Cleaning, x rays and general dentistry. However, I was billed $103 saying they were out of network. I called in April and spoke to several staff who said they would get back to me. They never got back to me. I called the CIGNA dental insurance and they confirmed that this was a mistake as the dentist was in network. I also checked online at CIGNA and it says that he is in network. Because the staff kept saying that he would get back to me, and never did, I assumed it was resolved. However, I just got a bill in June. I'm writing a review as contacting the staff does not seem to be working. I am happy to revise or delete this review once this matter is resolved.

The office is modern enough that for my son's emergency treatment, the operatory they used was quick to come online as soon as we got there and they got us through the emergency treatment. Now for the kicker: this office is pretty much a safe choice no matter which doctor you pick, but here is my take: If you need diagnostics relative to bite/articulation and jaw mechanics/kinesthetics, I would highly suggest Dr. Hirschfeld as she looks at the problem more from a engineering perspective and understands interactions of physical structures very well. In other cases (internal teeth issues, surface/structural, soft tissue) Dr. Navabi has the edge there. Also, Dr. Navabi is very good at calming an anxious patient. The good news is if you can catch them both, they function very well as a team and can tap both for their expertise. Its a treat watching the two of bounce potential issues and treatment options off of each other... Both appear to be on top of their studies and can handle questions on the latest and greatest in dentistry. Last (but not least), the office is clean, billing was reasonable, all billing happened predictably (both my son and wife are on my insurance with Metlife), and no complaints there from either myself or Metlife.

This was one of the most frustrating and disrespectful dental experiences I've ever had, and it started before I even arrived. I called the morning of my visit because I was in tooth pain. A dentist personally scheduled me for 3:00 PM since I was coming from work in DC. Shortly after, the front desk called back saying they don't actually have 3:00 PM available and that the dentist "open books" and doesn't see the calendar. She tried to move me to 11:30 AM while I was at work. When I explained I couldn't, I was told I could still come at 3:00 PM but might have to wait. I agreed because I was in pain. "A little" turned into an hour and a half. When I was finally seen, I was then told they might not be able to treat me that day and would instead put in a "plan." They sent in the woman who Handles insurance and I was told nothing could be done because they needed to submit my insurance for approval -- despite the fact that I've been to this office multiple times and have paid my copay without issue. The only time there was ever a payment issue was my very first visit, which was due to incorrect information given by the office and was resolved. I have since returned and paid without any problems. Yet I was told they didn't want the "same problems like last time," which is implying what? This was confusing and upsetting. I was also told 3:00 PM is "late in the day" and that my procedures would not be possible because the doctor has "other patients." If that's the case, why offer and confirm that appointment time? ALL Patients deserve the same care regardless of time. I told this woman I am in pain, and she says "all it says you're getting is a crown and possible RTC." Excuse me? As if you know what pain I am feeling. At that point, it started to feel discriminatory. As a young Black woman, I felt judged and treated as if my pain did not matter, despite being a returning, and paying patient. I left in tears and completely disregarded. Not everyone, but This woman in that office has serious issues with communication, insurance handling, and respect for patients.
