My daughter recommended Palmetto Primary Care and Dr. Teachman. I called to make an appointment and they were very nice. They texted me a link to fill out all my forms, attach a copy of my insurance card, and pay my copay ahead of time. It was so easy and allowed me to breeze right into the appointment. The assistant was very nice and put me at ease, taking my blood pressure and history. I really liked Dr. Teachman. He said he wanted to get to know me. He took time to understand my family history and talk about my lifestyle. I felt very comfortable, not nervous, like when I usually visit a new doctor. I trust that we have a good plan moving forward for my care. Checking out was easy, and I made a follow-up appointment for 6 months. The offices and waiting room are beautiful and clean. The staff is super friendly. If you are looking for a doctor that takes time to get to know a patient and really listens while providing excellent care, this is the place for you. Highly recommend.

I originally came in for a routine physical, which should have been fully covered by my insurance. Instead, I was billed for standard services like bloodwork. It took SIX MONTHS of repeated calls and back-and-forth to get this addressed. Every time you call, you're routed to a call center, which makes resolving anything even more difficult. After reading other reviews, it seems like this is a common issue here. On top of that, basic accuracy seems to be a problem. I'm 5'10" and fully grown, yet they initially recorded me as 6'1". When I questioned it, my chart was later updated to 5'6" -- which is wildly inaccurate and concerning. The most frustrating part: I specifically went in last fall to establish care and ensure continuity for a prescription after moving from NC. I clearly explained that I didn't need a refill at that time since my previous doctor had just sent one in. I was told that was fine and that I could simply call when I needed a refill. When I called today, they refused to fill it and said I'd need to come in for another appointment and pay again -- completely contradicting what I was previously told. Overall, this office is disorganized, inconsistent, and incredibly frustrating to deal with. I would AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

We were all a bit frantic after a long night of her vomiting and more, I was able to call and schedule an appointment that morning and the person I spoke to was so kind and reassuring. His girlfriend could hardly walk because she was so sick. They went above and beyond to take care of her and deal with our anxiety of worrying about his girlfriend and finding our way there. They don't deal with insurance because they are a small practice, but give you everything you need to file with your insurance company. I was actually shocked that the bill was only $300! We saved hours by not going to the emergency room, got better treatment and just felt very grateful to find this place.

Dr. DeCastro is a gem--smart, caring, and willing to spend the time it takes to listen to you and search for answers to problems that aren't immediately apparent. Although she is very much Western and academic in her approach, she doesn't dismiss the benefits of alternative medical therapies, assuming there is research to support them. I asked him to correct it, and he refused. His office manager called and said they could easily figure it out by listening to the recording of my visit. WHAT? This piece of crap did audio recordings of all of my office visits, and NEVER informed me. It's called a HIPAA violation. And him refusing to correct his false comments in his notes is called slander. I wouldn't do this to my worst enemy. What kind of a sick, demented doctor secretly records his office visits with you? I arrived and they informed me that their staff schedule it wrong and it was just a check up. I said I would reschedule and come back for my physical because that's all my insurance would cover. Dr Pagan said it was fine and she could do the physical while I was there. She then proceeded to do a full physical and full panel blood test. Then a month later I start getting huge bills for this visit. I called my insurance and they said it was not billed as a physical. I called the office to ask if they could change the bill to a physical and they refused (I actually called and spoke to them several times). Dr.Noemi Pagan even refused to admit that she did a physical. I am now stuck with a very large bill that I can't afford all because this Dr lied at the time of the appointment and isn't even humane enough to change the billing code when she knows she did a physical that day. DONT GO HERE OR YOU WILL BE UNJUSTLY BILLED AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AS A HUMAN.

The receptionists here are great and super friendly and helpful. Dr Nicolette was very warm and friendly as well. Took time to actually talk with me as a new patient and seemed interested in developing a relationship beyond just this visit. When an issue with the bill, the staff here actually worked with me to get that changed so that my visit would have been covered by my insurance. There's no way a Dr with one of the big hospitals in the area would have cared enough to do that. I don't actually go to the doctor much, as I'm (luckily) a pretty person. But I've actually been back to Dr Nicolette this year for a back issue and he displayed the same warmth and caring as he did my first visit.
