If you are reading this, your search for dog training stops here. This is the place you need and…read morethey will change your life! This sounds a little over the top BUT I'm not lying. I tell our trainers Katie and Nicole all of the time that they are life savers. We brought our puppy here at 1 years old - a small wild, energetic Jack Russell who knew every time I was on a video meeting to bark his head off and embarrass me EVERY TIME! Walks were out of the question since he would pull on the leash to the point he would choke himself... sitting on the deck was a nightmare in our own backyard because he would bark at the wind (yes, the wind), the leaves moving, the birds and obviously the neighbors. Does this sound familiar? I questioned my decision of getting a puppy and then I found Max K9. We did a 3 week Board & Train where I was super hesitant of dropping him off (because no one wants to leave their baby anywhere), but they were so good with sending video progress and pictures and including my husband and I in the process. I joke with everyone that I think they implanted a program into his brain! Lol! The transformation was unreal. We were instantly able to communicate with him and actually go on a walk.. outside in the real world. What a breath of fresh air, literally! Max K9 has given us the ability to live an active lifestyle and have our pup enjoy it with us. Hikes, traveling, morning walks, trips to the store, brewery visits, long car rides out of state... you name it. I would do it all over again if I had to without a question. So if you've made it this far, thanks for reading. I hope this helps you make your decision to having a better relationship with your pup and enjoying life with them every step of the way.

We were having trouble trying to help him adjust from living in the south on a large property to living in a one bedroom apartment with cats and a smaller back yard. We were set up with our trainer, Jim, he educated us on how to handle Keiko properly (from basic obedience to different enrichment), build a better bridge of communication and help with his confidence. Our last session Keiko even decided he was going to try one of the obstacles from maximum K9's agility course (no prompting from us) shocking both me and my fiancé. Safe to say Keiko loves Maximum K9 as much as we do . Since our training we have been able to do so much more and get Keiko better involved in our activities (which we know he loves). They also have so many great treats, toys, and training tools for those at varying levels in their store portion.

My seven year old mini schnauzer had always been a nervous dog, and it only got worse once we moved…read morefrom the city to the suburbs: he was anxiously alert, became wary of all strangers, and began nipping at and biting people, and was very overprotective of me and of the house. I contacted Michael after a recommendation from our vet, who herself had noticed the escalating change in my dog. Michael was a god send! Not only does he really know and love dogs, but he's a great teacher. He was great at helping me understand the way dogs think and taught me what I needed to do in order to better command my dog and give him the boundaries, direction, and leadership he needed to feel more calm and confident. Not only did my dog LOVE our sessions with Michael (he would even wait for him by the door when he knew he had "school"), but he learned very quickly and is now a LOT calmer over all. Situations that were once stressful and even sometimes dangerous for us are now calm and much better controlled, and we can resume normal life activities again. Michael taught me to understand what my dog needs from ME, so that I can get better behavior from and provide a happier and calmer life for HIM. That being said, remember that dog training involves training the owner in order to train the dog, so you also have to put in the work! Just calling Michael and not doing any of the training on your own between sessions will not solve anything! Additionally, Michael is very professional and kind, is quick to respond to questions or problems via text, email, and phone, and is very flexible with his scheduling (we did the private in-home sessions). He takes the time to address all your concerns, and always aims to use safe and positive reinforcement training methods, rather than other trainers I had researched that use methods that include things like shock collars and consequence-based training, which I personally did not prefer to use for my dog if I could avoid it. Calling Michael was the best thing I could have ever done for my dog, and for my family as well. I can't say enough about how great our experience was with Michael! I would highly recommend him!

We love going to breweries with him, but his reactivity when other dogs came in made it unpredictable. From the very first private dog training session with Anthony we saw improvement -- not overnight, but in a way that actually made sense. Anthony took the time to explain why Kent was reacting the way he was, pointing out his body language, triggers and stress signals. The lessons were clear and realistic and were super easy to apply in our walks and outings. We worked through different leash and collar combinations to find what works best for Kent. This has made him more confident, focused and less reactive. After we started training, walks are calmer, more controlled, and genuinely enjoyable. We were able to be transitioned to a group class where we are able to see so many more improvements. We really appreciate the training not being a one size fit all approach. The transformation has been incredible. Anthony is an amazing person to work with! If you're struggling with leash pulling or reactivity or other behavior issues and feel stuck, Anthony is absolutely worth it. This training didn't just change Kent's walks -- it changed our relationship with him.

Both of these behaviors made my goals of participating in dog sports (specifically agility) and being able to walk in public around other dogs pretty much impossible. We took a break from agility and started working with Anthony. We did private and group lessons. Within months I was seeing improvement. Fast forward one year and both behaviors have been corrected. Thanks to Anthony we are back to agility and trying out other dog sports. We are now able to enjoy our boy even more than before! I highly recommend Anthony for his patient, no BS approach to training. He will give you the training and tools you need to work with your dog. The best part is that training will be fun for you and your dog!

I won't list all of them - just some highlights. My friend, who is not experienced, wanted to do this trail ride for our birthdays and we thought it would be fun. I've been on trail rides all over the world and know what to expect, and have never pulled out of a ride because I didn't feel safe until this place. I was the first person to be mounted and when the horse came out, I could see that the saddle was improperly placed too far back. I didn't say anything because it's not my place, but when I mounted, the girth was clearly too loose as the saddle started to slip. I told them that the girth was too loose and also that the saddle seemed to far back so Janet said let's reset the saddle and asked me how I would do it! She didn't seem to know the proper placement or how tight to make the girth because apparently this happened before. She then told me to walk down the lawn and let the horse graze while I waited for the rest of the group. It's not a safe practice to let horses graze while mounted, especially with beginners, but apparently that's what they do regularly. When the group was ready to leave, Janet started off on her horse and just about 30 yards from the barn, before even getting to the trail, the horse tripped and fell all the way down to the ground!! Janet fell off of course, and the horse walked off. If I had any doubt that all the red flags I'd clocked were right, this confirmed it. She was shaken up but ok, but didn't go on the ride, I don't know what was up with the horse but if a horse falls down just walking across a lawn, that raises questions about soundness and safety that are serious.
