Glove box falls out whenever we open it. Huge deep scratch in the paint on the hood... a few other minor things here and there (for now). For the most part, I felt pretty comfortable with ignoring these things and I figured since my family and I just moved to McHenry from Chicago, I'd take my time to look for a auto body shop that does good work and most important run an honest business. I didn't need to get ripped off again Well one morning after dropping off our son at daycare I went to open my driver side door and pulled the door handle completely off! I was lucky for two reasons. 1) My wife was inside the car on the passenger side. 2) I didn't do anything that morning that pissed her off and so she reached over to pull on the inside driver 's side door handle and let me in the car! So now I really had to find an auto body repair shop. I'm not one for researching very well (obviously) and I called the first two places that were listed on my Google search results. One was Bull Valley Auto Body and the other one I can't even remember. I got an answering machine at both and didn't leave a message - I just hung-up. But after I hung-up on the second place, my phone started ringing and I recognized the number as the number I just called for Bull Valley Auto Body. It was Nancy (she's awesome) calling me back to see if there was anything I needed help with. Now... I'll say this. Most places, would've just ignored the number that didn't leave a message. Nancy at Bull Valley calling me back EVEN when I didn't leave a message showed me that these people wanted my business. It's been my experience that people who go that extra mile to get your business without even knowing what they could help you with is a sure sign that these people are worth checking out. So I told Nancy what happened and setup a time for me to stop by that same day so they can have a look at my Ford. I get there and pull my car into their garage and they looked at my door. They had cars in there that they were doing some major body work on so I felt a little embarrassed that I was bringing this to them. I thought to myself that compared to the other stuff they were working on, what I needed for them to fix must have been such a waste of time. But nope... Nancy and the other folks I met there were very professional - made me feel that my little issue was very important to them. Nancy even showed me all the other cool stuff they were working on - I felt extremely welcomed. They had to order a part (the door handle) and told me they would call me when the part was in and that we'd schedule a time for them to pull the door panel off so they can install the door handle. Told me it would be a half day job. About a day went by and I got a call from Nancy telling me that my part was in. So we schedule a day for me to drop off my car so they can install the new door handle. Let me say this, it took me longer to get to writing this review than it took them to get that door handle installed on my door. It was just as Nancy had told me - it took about a half a day (I think it was actually less) to get the work done. I had to pick it up the next day because of work. I'm not familiar with how much things cost and I"m thinking I'm probably going to have to take out a loan plus offer up a couple of cartons of eggs (exaggerating about taking out a loan) to pay for this. But when Nancy told me what the bills was, I was just pleasantly surprised at how VERY reasonable it was and for the quality of work they did to my car and for the professionalism they extended to me. People... This is a long way of saying... If you have any issues with your car, truck, or any manner of auto vehicle and are looking for a dependable, professional, honest, reasonably priced auto body shop... You would not go wrong by going to Bull Valley Auto Body shop.

Picked up car, they didn't file down the filler before they painted it so you could see a huge bulge. There was no missing the repair area. It looked worse than the damage. They offered to make it right. Got a call telling me the car was ready 2 days later. Went to pick it up. The quarter panel had no gloss! It was dull. Who looked at the car and decided it was finished? Left the car there for attempt #3. Picked it up a day later. It was shiny again, but the the original repair wasn't corrected. Picked up car. Had another shop redo the repair. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. They seem lazy. I was told by the owner that he could not see where the repair was made. WHAT!!! You're the boss and you CANT SEEEEE how f'ing BAD your employees and shop-work is? That dude should NOT be the boss. They charged the insurance $2800 and did $150 worth of work. The new shop had to completely undo Gerber McHenry's repairs. Steer clear. They dont care enough to actually look at the repair from different angles.

We called for an estimate appointment, which was available the next day. We got there at the appointed time and we waited a few minutes for the estimator. The estimator looked at our car and then sprang on us that this Gerber was booked until into April. Would have been nice to be too that at time of appointment making. Then he said he had other Gerber locations who could get the car done "right away." When I asked what "right away" meant, he waffled, saying that would depend on parts availability and any hidden damage. I said I understood that but wanted to know if we were talking a week, a month, or a year. He said, "I cannot be sure." I the asked if he could not get ahold of Lexus to find out if the bumper part was available. At this point, he walked away saying "We are done here." I asked whether he was saying he did not want my business and he shook his head yes. I guess the message I was being given was that we give our car to Gerber and we get it back when they are good and ready. We then called a competitor down the street who said to come by as we were in the neighborhood. We got there and the experience was 1000% better. While it took a while to get the estimator, we were treated with respect, given a written estimate, told it would take 3-4 days (subject to hidden damage which I understand), and were given an appointment date and time for the repair.
