This is our go to place to eat ! Love the food! My new favorite is the veggie Philly sub . It's definitely delicious and I ask for a side over balsamic vinaigrette on the side for dipping the sub in ! Oh wow it's off the chain ! Fries are also great ! Love the out door seating with the fans cooling you on hot days ! It's perfect and very garden themed with its huge tree that overhangs the seating area ! This is a restaurant that knows what is is and does it well. The menu is a single page with a good selection of items. The food is fresh, well flavored, and served hot. The staff is friendly, engaging, and very helpful; even with the crazy busy schedule that they work in a full restaurant. The outdoor patio is good sized, and the inside is clean an cozy. This is not a place with huge seating, so getting a table can involve a wait, but the food is excellent quantity. You have to decide how long you want to wait for a great cafe meal. read more

My parents took me to McGregor's Cafe on a rainy Saturday morning while I was in town visiting. I was hoping for brunch, but we missed it, so we enjoyed lunch instead. Every time I'm in Cape Coral / Fort Myers, I come here just for the key lime pie, best I've ever had! The pie is huge too. Enough for 2 for sure, 3 if you just want to share and try something. Service is always really friendly too! We came near closing one time and they told us they're closed but we said we only getting our so they gladly let us in. So love this place! First, if u like quiche, this is an absolute must try! Seriously the largest, best quiche ever. Took a friend from out of town for lunch and it was just the perfect spot! Cute patio w/umbrellas that offer a relaxing ambiance or can eat inside, which we did for the AC. The quiche that day was broccoli cheddar (rotates). SO good! Their iced tea is also excellent and loved that when we left the server offered to-go cups. Lots of gluten-free options. The quiche, unfortunately isn't gf, but they offer gf bread/bun for many of their menu items. Service was fabulous - friendly, didn't rush us. Thought the price was appropriate for the amount of food and quality. It gets busy as this is a popular place. The only negative is the bathroom. We popped in for lunch here. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is lovely, under a beautiful tree canopy. Pups are welcome. We saw several sitting outside. Everything we ordered was delicious. I really enjoyed my Philly cheesesteak sandwich.with truffle Parmesan fries. What a cute little place! The second I was seated I was greeted by Holly who was so freaking amazing. She really took care of us and was very pleasant to interact with. We chose to have breakfast here after seeing "Hash n Eggs" on their online menu for which the description included "crispy housemade corned beef hash". My husband only enjoys hash when it's good and crispy, so he was intrigued and that's what drove us here. The hash definitely had good flavor, but unfortunately, it was mushy and did not have any crispy texture to it. So that was disappointing. I ordered the build your own 3-egg omelet with cheesy grits as my side. I really enjoyed how creamy the grits were; they were pudding-like and very tasty. I loved how they serve sodas in large, glass mugs. When diet soda is your 'coffee', you really appreciate that! It's a cute little place that also offers patio seating. There is history in visiting McGregor Café, and the place seems to blend in nicely to the residential surroundings. On this beautiful morning the patio dining was popular. I decided to try their Quiche, having seen that mentioned in other reviews. They only offered one type of Quiche, a Broccoli Cheese and Bacon, so that was what I got. It was a tall slice, at least an inch and a half deep. I got mine with their home style sliced potatoes, crispy. I wasn't too impressed with the quiche. It had lots of broccoli, some cheese, and at least the thought of bacon. The crust could have been better. As a breakfast item they call popular, it didn't seem better than average. The potatoes were good, I liked the potatoes. Another measure is service, and while that went ok, it wasn't a friendly smiling sort of interaction you find at most places. Super cute mom and pop cafe, it's literally a staple in the community. The Turkey club is very tasty and they definitely load it with tons of thick bacon slices that make your mouth water, the Turkey is made fresh in house! The indoor seating is dark and kind of dingy with dark forest green walls but the outdoor patio definitely works with their umbrellas to keep you in the shade. It's worth dining Al fresco, and if you like truffle fries, there's are very yum! It's a very casual spot, great for a lazy weekend experience that offers great food! read more

Upon asking our server what their best seller was, she replied, "Everything here is good honey." How can one not believe that? This consists of a grilled turkey patty, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, lettuce and house joppiesaus (curried Mayo) on a brioche bun. Our experience was fine but on the two occasions we have been there, we witnessed the same hostess (iykyk) drive customers away due to her rudeness Today, a father carrying his infant in the car seat carrier, was denied the ability to go inside to be seated at a table ( 90 degree temp. outside) because the entire party had not arrived yet. Hostess was rude and the gentlemen left stating " you will not be getting our business ". It was my boyfriend and I's first time here. We wanted to try a new breakfast place that was dog friendly since we had my dog with us. The server was so sweet and even brought out a water bowl for my pup. I got the eggs benedict with a side of breakfast potatoes and it was delicious. We came for lunch on a Saturday. The place was hopping. We ordered a tuna melt and a Philly cheesesteak. The cheesesteak was really good. The tuna melt was solid. Overall the atmosphere was great and the staff is friendly and quick. If you have someone with mobility issues, there are 2 handicapped parking spots. The outside seating is spacious and plenty of room for a mobility device. We sat inside so I am unsure how the chairs are outside. Inside is crowded so mobility devices are a tight fit. They have booths and chairs. The chairs are fine and easy to transfer to. There is a slight bump to get into the restaurant. It is something a wheelchair could navigate. Overall, the restaurant was great, the food was good, the staff is awesome. But be aware of the tight spaces if balance and mobility is an issue. read more

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood of McGregor Cafe! The drive down from Cape Coral is awesome with mature trees and beautiful homes lining both sides of the road. I haven't been here in sometime and we are celebrating a friend's birthday! We get outside seating at a table in the shade with an umbrella. We are between two huge Stag horn ferns which accentuate the ambience of the outside garden. Two of us ordered the lobster cake over greens with fresh diced mango salsa and a light citrus dressing. The other, the homemade chicken salad surrounded by fresh fruit and a slice of lemon pound cake. Yummy! It's so great to be able to support our local community businesses! read more

What a lovely cafe! My husband and I enjoyed breakfast of hash and eggs and eggs and breakfast meats. The cheesy grits were not my mother's cheesy grits (but honestly, no one makes cheesy grits like my mom). They were a bit too cheesy so you might want to consider regular grits and add cheddar cheese on top. The cafe also serves breakfast drinks such as Bloody Marys and Bellinis. I enjoyed a Bellini. This is a quaint little place on McGregor Blvd. with very pleasant outdoor and indoor seating. The service was very good as well. The food was very disappointing. The coffee at $3.75/cup was mediocre at best. If I was blindfolded, I might not have known it was coffee. I had the hash and eggs for $15.95. The eggs were fine and the piece of toast was good as well, but the hash was spiced with something that tasted terrible and I couldn't eat it. An egg McMuffin, hash browns and a cup of good coffee at McDonald' would have been twice as good for about half the price. I won't be going back. read more

We had a great breakfast here and got to meet up with fellow Yelp elite Dawne F. We let Dawne choose the restaurant (she hasn't failed us yet!) as she lives in the area. There was a short wait for a table on the outside patio. The restaurant is obviously very popular. I had their two eggs (poached) with bacon, home fries, and rye toast. Everything was delicious. The eggs were cooked as requested; the bacon was crisp; the rye toast was buttered just right; and the home fries were extra special as the potatoes were thinly sliced and sautéed with onions. Yummy! My husband had eggs with fluffy biscuits and sausage gravy (lots of sausage) with home fried potatoes on the side. Dawne had their eggs Benedict with salmon. She said it was one of the best "bennies" she's had... that's saying a lot. We had gracious service from Gina (sp?) in a picturesque patio setting with tasty breakfast fare.
