Best trail riding in Mammoth by far!Amazing views, friendly trail leaders that point out different flower and plant names along the way, well kept horses and mules, very family friendly. Will definitely come back!

Do yourself a favor and book a ride with this pack station! Amazing views and animals, kind and compassionate wranglers! My husband and I couldn't have had a better experience! Can't wait to do it again

    Great view of the valley!

Fantastic ride through a beautiful valley! The hosts were so friendly and great teachers making it easy for all experience levels to feel comfortable. The animals were very docile and could do the route in their sleep.

1hour ride. Great view and great first experience.

Went for a ride over the weekend for my daughter's birthday.I cannot thank the crew enough for such a great experience. They were so patient and attentive to my daughter. She loved it so much. I loved getting a history lesson from Larry during the ride it was awesome. This team clearly loves what they do. I would definitely recommend them for a great ride for all levels.

I brought my daughters here and we did the one hour trail ride. It was AMAZING and the service was impeccable. We will definitely be back and miss it already!

We came as a group of 7 with kids age 8-12, for a 1 hour guided ride. We had a wonderful time, even wearing masks because it was Smokey. We got to ask questions about the horses and environment. We were COVID safe with distance, masks, cleaning hands with hand sanitizer. The guides took pictures for us - which was nice that they didn't charge extra for that. Also, we bought their branded bandanas and horse and mule shoes. Definitely will come back!!

McGee Creek Pack station is a hidden gem, I highly recommend it, and I will definitely be back Carissa, Gabi, Sara, Caymen, and all the staff were A-Mazing! They are so knowledgeable, experienced, and friendly. You feel like you are in very good hands. The ranch is run very well and sits tucked away with a peaceful creek flowing along the pack station, which adds to its remarkable beauty. My husband and sister chose to hike the McGee Creek trail and left from the pack station, as I chose the 2 hour trail ride. They absolutely loved their hike and highly recommend it! Carissa, Gabi, and Sara prepped us well before the ride and answered any questions we had. The terrain is incredibly stunning with so much to see. We even crossed a shallow stream in some spots, which was so beautiful. Gabi knew the names of the spectacular wildflowers blooming, and she shared some interesting facts as we rode. She checked on us frequently and lended help whenever needed. Sara did a great job in the back of the trail ride, and was right there to help out when needed. Loved my ride at McGee Creek Pack Station, See you again soon, Jen

Had the most amazing time! Our guide Emily was so sweet and very helpful too! Definitely do not miss this if you are in the area :)

We had the best time on the most beautiful ride! Caymen our guide was so friendly and great with our girls up front. My daughter was on Freda and she was the cutest mule wish we could take her home. Our Mia was on Dusty he was the best gentleman. I was on Chester he was my kinda man sure footed and very careful. My SIL on Junee she was an adorable easy going gal. We can't wait to go back on a longer ride! Not to mention the gals that helped us out with questions the day before and the girls that's checked us in. Top notch service! I can't remember the girl in the backs name but she was super friendly and told us lots of cool stories about the mountains.

Can you see the rainbow in the sky? My mule "Freida" was a champ!

I had such a wonderful experience! The staff was so friendly, helpful, and kind. This is a great adventure for any skill of horseback rider! I loved the 2hr tour...up to the Horsetail Falls...the trail was filled with going uphill, down hill, through switchbacks, streams, and snow. The mules and horses were pros and I definitely felt safe! I loved every minute of it!

You can tell these people treat the horses and mules well. The staff are friendly and our guide was amazing! He talked about the different plants, helped us with identifying them, and he explained some history and geography. The scenery was beautiful. Some of our party was bummed to ride mules, however the mules were so sturdy and calm throughout the whole ride, especially on the more rocky/shale areas of the trail.

    Getting ready for our ride.

Such an amazing experience with my daughter. Our guide was helpful and kept us all safe during our ride. We will be back again!

TLDR: Disappointing Experience - Unengaged and Unhelpful Wrangler…read more We were optimistic about our 4 PM Red Mountain ride, but unfortunately, our wrangler fell far short of expectations and made for an uncomfortable, even stressful, experience. From the start, she seemed impatient and uninterested--perhaps because we were the last group of the day. Our group of four included two children; I clarified that we were all beginners. Despite that, my nine-year-old daughter was assigned Dino, a horse someone in the previous group had asked, "Dino is not going out again today, is he?" He consistently misbehaved and was difficult to control for inexperienced riders. Rather than explaining how to handle Dino or offering coaching to my daughter, the wrangler simply took the lead rope away from her, making my daughter feel embarrassed and even more unsure of herself. The most concerning incident happened just ten minutes into the ride. The last horse broke away and bolted onto a busy road. Instead of communicating clearly and giving instructions, the wrangler immediately abandoned our group to chase the runaway horse, leaving the entire group confused and unsupervised as our horses started to follow the chaos toward the road. I had to yell instructions to my daughters myself to keep them safe, as the wrangler provided no guidance or reassurance in what could have become a dangerous situation. Throughout the ride, the wrangler maintained an unfriendly, silent demeanor. She rarely checked on us and barked unclear instructions from the front of the line, which were nearly impossible to hear. When my daughter started to slide sideways on her saddle, the wrangler never stopped to see if the stirrups needed adjusting, simply shouting at us instead. After the horse bolted, I chose to ride at the rear to ensure my daughters were okay and give them basic instructions, which the wrangler should have provided. When Dino became aggressive and tried to bite my horse, the wrangler moved my daughter to the back of the line. Because of Dino's nature, she constantly lagged far behind. Despite the risk of being separated or left unattended on rocky trails, the wrangler barely stopped or looked back to check on her. Finally, one of the main draws of a guided ride is supposed to be the scenery and the guide's insights. Our wrangler gave us no information and didn't once stop to highlight the landscape or share anything about the area. Even the other group members looked frustrated by her lack of engagement and support. I have been on numerous guided horseback rides over the years, and this was hands down the worst guiding I've ever experienced. The wrangler was inattentive, unhelpful, and uninterested, risking our safety, comfort, and enjoyment. Based on our guide, I cannot recommend this experience. .

I had a camping trip to Yosemite National Park planned in September and knew I wanted to propose to my Fiancé while on the trip and didn't know exactly how I would plan this. We are avid outdoor/hikers and love horses. When I found Yosemite Trails Horseback Adventures, I knew that this was the PERFECT place for me to propose to the love of my life. I wasn't quite sure how the proposal would go down to begin with, but Cami and the entire team made the experience unbelievable. I felt like part of the family and cannot thank them enough. They scouted out various different locations along the route for the spot prior to my arrival and communicated with me every step of the way. Jolene found the location on the trail, and was our guide. We did a private trial ride as I wanted the experience to be intimate. Jolene was INCREDIBLE and we cannot thank her enough. She was an expert guide and made the entire experience a memory we will never forget. Jolene took pictures for us and planned the entire proposal location, she was fantastic in every regard. The horses were beautiful and looked extremely well taken care off and loved. The trail ride itself was the best we have been on, and we have done quite a few. It was beautiful, fun going through the creeks and riding up/down the mountainsides. We cannot thank Cami, Jolene and the entire Yosemite Trails Horseback Adventure Team for the memory and experience of a lifetime, and we cannot wait to do it again!

Plus for me and my wife (late 50's) it was coming after several long day hikes, so we hired Glacier Pack Train to make the day a little easier. For an extremely reasonable price they agreed to take us up to the third lake, allowing us to hike the rest of the way, exploring all the other lakes and then hiking down. We were so happy we did this, not only because it made the entire region accessible to us, but because the trail ride itself was so incredibly enjoyable on its own. Even though our experience on horses has been pretty limited, we felt like we were riding ourselves, not just being transported up. Truly a terrific day from start to finish.
