I called them to inquire why the email I had written about the issue had not been answered. They refused to acknowledge their misrepresentation of the shoes and gave NO explanation for not responding to my email. They would not hear of a refund for these horrible colored shoes or even store credit. I see this issue as it is: false advertising. I am displeased. Being a diehard online shopper, I have never purchased from a company that is totally insensitive when they have misled their customers. Never again will I shop there and I notify others to steer clear, as well.

Most seemed unhappy at least, and definitely a little off. However, if you need a fabulous gown on short notice and won't shudder at an astronomical price, this is a place you can go to get that done. Alterations and all. My mother picked out the dress that she wore to my wedding off the rack at the Lake Forest Shop on September 2nd for a wedding on September 18th. She tried it on 3 times, held it for 4 days until I flew in, and then had me see her in it before she bought it because of the sticker. (I was thinking something with a motor in it should come with the dress.) But to be fair, my mom has not looked that good in a dress since her wedding to my stepfather. She looked just bangin'. The dress took 15 years off of her, easily. I think she deserved to spoil herself like that. She's earned it. My mom is petite, so they had to bring up the skirt and tighten the neckline around her back, but nothing major. After my mom picked up the dress, she got a frantic call from her alterations specialist about a thread. When she talked to alterations, she told her to bring back the dress. This was the Wednesday before the wedding. My mom was busy all morning with runs to the airport and getting her hair done. I took back the dress when I was supposed to be getting my marriage license. Turns out there was a miscommunication, and nothing was wrong with the dress. The ladies at the front desk were laughing about it as if it were funny. That just ticked me off. Maybe some people who come into that store have nothing but time on their hands, but that isn't me, and it definitely wasn't me the week of my wedding. They supposedly found something with the zipper they wanted to fix, though, which they did in 15 minutes or so. If you're LF and proud and need a fabulous dress, this is definitely a store for you. I bought a formal dress abt 6 weeks before it arrived in the store. I was forced to pay a Rush Fee. They put a seamstress that clearly had no idea how to work with the dress. Very lil alterations were needed to it. I came in two times for the shortening of the train and what were supposed to be just placing cups and very minor alterations by the hips. Well, I came a third time to simply pick it up and bring on a plane with me. They had it all wrapped up to go on the plane, so, I didn't bother trying it on, again. The last alteration was only to be placement of the cups, basically. I brought the very expensive dress on the plane and didn't open the bag till I arrived in Washington DC. I took one look at it and saw the very drastic errors made to the neck of the dress which was never to be touched in the first place. It couldn't be worn at all to the wedding. I called the store panicked hoping they had a seamstress recommendation in Washington DC. They had nobody to send me to or really anything they could do abt it. They told me to run out just hrs before the wedding and buy a new dress in DC. That was not an option. I had to scramble and find a tailor on the day of the wedding to fix as much as they could so I could wear it. The Lake Forest Shop seamstress tacked down the neck twisted and turned, screwed up the cups so bad it completely ruined the dress. The tailor was able to remove the track, yet, could only fix it as best as she could with streaming considering the timing and how awful the person screwed up the dress. I called Lake Forest Shop, again, when I got back. I had to fight to even get any refund. They gave me 10% off, basically. Nothing! There is ZERO reason why they didn't order me a Brand New One. I still believe that is exactly what they should do to right their wrong. There is no chance I'd let them alter anything ever, again. How did they possibly hand that dress to me in that condition wrapped to go on the plane? There is no way this should happen let alone from a store in business for 100 years.

If Talbot's in Lake Forest wants to keep their customers coming back, they need to take a hard look at the way they train their staff.
