A birthday party would probably be a great success here, especially with supplemental kites or frisbees or other throwing things. The grassy field is sizable enough for kickball and other such terrain-sprawling sport. We had a compelling game of pine one ninja (think live-action fruit ninja, sub Dowel rods and pine cones). There's a quaint earthen walking path on the far side of the park that, I believe, leads to a pedestrian sidewalk passing over I40 and leading to the Winrock mall. There's also A bunch of well-maintained tennis courts, which I thought were for public use but appear to be restricted access... tennis club or something? I don't know for sure; better check with google on that. There's imposing chain link fences surrounding them, and while tunneling under may be difficult due to the asphalt and turf perimeter, you could probably climb them if you really wanted to play when the courts were closed. * Yelp does not condone criminal trespassing, and their views are not necessarily reflected in my satirical advice on circumventing restricted access. The Hahn canal goes through this park, breaking in a "Y" fashion. But the park is big, so even though the canal is here, it really doesn't take much away from visitors using it. And there's lots to do. There's a nice tennis complex, with 4 tennis courts. There's plenty of space for walking, which is what I like to do. And there's a swing set for the kiddos. There aren't many picnic tables, but plenty of grass to sit on. Just bring your own blanket to place on the ground to enjoy a meal that you've brought with you. I go here each weekday, so maybe I'll see you there. :)

The grass was so lush and the shade and giant trees really made the place seem from another place. We had shown up the other day as I heard the disc gold was really good here. When we arrived we didn't know where to go but luckily there were some locals in the parking lot that pointed us the way. It's not a huge park. The one fella who gave us some guidance luckily gave us the tip that there were about half as many baskets as tee boxes. For example, hole(basket) 5, was also hole 15. We were able to find each tee pretty easily and with the grass cut throughout we weren't likey to lose a disc. Things got a little more crazy when a large disc gold club of people arrived. Around 2 dozen people met up for a tournament of sorts. They all started on different holes and all of as sudden we had to be extra careful of our throws as many holes are in the way of throwing lanes. We finished without anyone getting hit in the head, but there were some close ones. Great park, good disc gold course, just be careful of strays frisbees.

I went with a friend and we enjoyed some lamb and fries from Donner Kabob. Probably wouldn't order that again but still not bad. They also had Kimo's Hawaiian, a crepe truck, and frozen custard. I had a lavender frozen custard after dinner which was super good but definitely a little pricey. $6 for two scoops, $7 for three. There is a ton of parking and it was nice to just sit on the grass. Lots of people there with their families and dogs. The sunset was gorgeous and a great view of the mountains.

Easily one of the bigger parks in Albuquerque. It is extremely well maintained no matter the season. It has some of the best views of the mountains and the skyline. Locals tend to call the park "pregnant park" because of the large hill in the center. It's perfect for rolling or sledding down. It's also perfect for kites because of several sq feet without trees. For some reason, this park continues to be a hidden gem for locals only. It's truly a place to be experienced!

Decent basketball court. Nice area for a soccer or wiffleball game. A xeriscape demonstration area. You'll see a lot of people walking their dogs - pretty much always. They aren't supposed to be off-leash, but you will generally see a few that are - and their owners are generally on top of them. Not a grim amount of dog "dirt" left behind - lots of bags and receptacles provided, and they're generally used. You'll see lot of tennis and pickleball. Sometimes there are swarms of kids; sometimes just a few; sometimes none. The park is pretty and is well maintained by CABQ. If you're looking for a calm place to have a coffee or a picnic lunch, give it consideration.

What I particularly love is that it has a very dog friendly vibe and I could take my dog for a walk steps from my home, knowing that it's a safe place for him and for me. The park is pretty clean. I think people who visit this park do a great job of cleaning up after themselves (minus a few dog poops that I saw around a park, which I hoped was due to unintentional unnotice of dog owners...and not intentionally leaving them there!). The park has both sand and grass area...they clean regularly (their trash is never full!) and provide free dog poop bags for those who forget to bring their own as well. The only drawback is that aside from a few big trees around a park, there's really not much shaded areas for you to hide from the heat. So, make sure you come when it's not 85F+ out. For me, since I live super close by...this temperature/no shade area isn't an issue for me. However, if you are walking from afar or driving here...maybe time it well so you or your loved ones (kids or dogs) don't get heat stroke!

There is a lot of fantastic park equipment for kids as well as plenty of grass and trees for ambiance. A lot of people love to walk their dogs here and it's a great place to do it! Our Parks and Rec department keeps it clean and that makes it a fantastic place to have parties. The neighborhood is really friendly and that makes this an extra fun park! We really enjoy even just parking here and enjoying a quick bite together when we just have a few minutes between errands because it feels like a break from it all!

This is a wonderful park up in the northeast part of Albuquerque. There's no real dedicated parking…read morespots for the park, but it seems everyone just parks around/along the park. What I like about this park is just that it's a park that people in this community actually use. There were people playing sports, walking, hanging out around a park and walking their pets. It also really did seem very safe and nice around the partk/area (which isn't the case at all parks). If you are around the area and have some time to kill, you can check out this spot. A loop around a park doesn't really take long. Even a rather slow walker like me did a loop in less than 30 minutes!
