This is a lovely park to visit to enjoy the outdoors. There are several sports areas, a large grassy field, ponds with ducks and turtles, a playground and a covered picnic area. I really enjoyed my visit to the park. It's a great place for families or anybody!

RECOMMEND: Was here running in the NM Farolito 5k in the evening. Thoroughly enjoyed this clean park and will absolutely go back.

Lovely park to bike, play and enjoy the ducks. Happy I will soon be living 5 minutes away from it.

Great well kept park! So many sports facilities including horseshoes, baseball, and football! My favorite part is the duck pond. It's a little hard to see the fish but they are there. There is a white duck who is a little cranky but the ducks will come to you just to see if you have food for them! There is plenty of space to walk with grassy hills and trail. Fantastic community center across the street too! We went at a time where we could see the sunset and it was breathtaking!

Nice city park. On the West end beyond the pavilion is a little tree with a memorial to the little Albuquerque girl, Victoria Martens, who was savagely murdered by her mother's boyfriend. Please say a prayer in her memory. I like this park because it offers duck ponds, playgrounds and sporting fields with lots of parking. Walk your dog, have a picnic lunch or just sit and take it all in. The one thing I'd add is a skate park.

Love this park! They have everything you would want in a park. Of course, the traditional playground, big field for soccer, basketball court, baseball field, nice long walking paths that goes around the whole park, workout area with several equipments, and duck pond. Potty is just a hole in the ground with a simple seat... may want to avoid it especially with a small child. Yup. It's beautiful around sunset time and I haven't seen that park get too crowded. Pokémon stops throughout so you have something to do while you let your kids run wild. There are many benches and few gazebos for those who like to just chill. Oh Doggy friendly too

If you're going to embark on one of the most painful experiences of your life mine as well do it with a view. That sums up the jogging track around mariposa basin perfectly. I recently started jogging and was recommended to try this park because the track around it is a mile around give or take. After my first jog I have to say, I'm a fan. Settled in Taylor Ranch it's a gorgeous park. Baseball fields, two public restrooms, park equipment for all ages, covered picnic benches and even a duck pond! The bathrooms are pretty gross. But they are really just glorified porta-potties. No plumbing and no sink. Dirty is an understatement of massive proportions. However, if you're desperate they'll get the job done. Just don't touch the seat I'm pretty sure the plague might be making a comeback there. I only glanced at the play equipment as I limped by but it looked nice! Clean and in good condition. You get a spectacular view of the baseball fields from the jogging path and they are gorgeous. Green full grass, clean, fenced in area. Nice benches for the fans. The duck pond is cute. I saw many ducks, geese and even a small turtle. The water might need cleaning but hey I'm not swimming in it. Overall a nice place to jog. I recommend it.

This park has so much potential! It's too bad there isn't better upkeep. They have tons of shade, great fields to play soccer, football, or whatever you like. There are basketball courts and batting cages as well. A pond to feed ducks is also a nice feature. The only downside is some of the tables are destroyed and unable to sit at. Trash everywhere, the trash cans are full and there are full trash bags throughout the park. There is also a trail that goes around. I didn't walk the trail today but did see several people out and about. Decent park, just needs some cleanup.

My favorite park in the world -best place to get fit and feel good. I've left now and live in Colorado but there's nothing like my experience at Mariposa basin. There are multiple points of entry and lots of recreational rollerbladers, bicyclists, runners and other outdoor enthusiasts. Mariposa is home ground for league organized sports practices such as little league, football soccer and simply a place to bring your furry friend for their daily exercise.

A birthday party would probably be a great success here, especially with supplemental kites or frisbees or other throwing things. The grassy field is sizable enough for kickball and other such terrain-sprawling sport. We had a compelling game of pine one ninja (think live-action fruit ninja, sub Dowel rods and pine cones). There's a quaint earthen walking path on the far side of the park that, I believe, leads to a pedestrian sidewalk passing over I40 and leading to the Winrock mall. There's also A bunch of well-maintained tennis courts, which I thought were for public use but appear to be restricted access... tennis club or something? I don't know for sure; better check with google on that. There's imposing chain link fences surrounding them, and while tunneling under may be difficult due to the asphalt and turf perimeter, you could probably climb them if you really wanted to play when the courts were closed. * Yelp does not condone criminal trespassing, and their views are not necessarily reflected in my satirical advice on circumventing restricted access. One star deducted because of bathroom access. There's one in that... tennis club?... building, but of course your bladder relief is then at the mercy of their hours of operation. Go play here. Just go pee first.

What I particularly love is that it has a very dog friendly vibe and I could take my dog for a walk steps from my home, knowing that it's a safe place for him and for me. The park is pretty clean. I think people who visit this park do a great job of cleaning up after themselves (minus a few dog poops that I saw around a park, which I hoped was due to unintentional unnotice of dog owners...and not intentionally leaving them there!). The park has both sand and grass area...they clean regularly (their trash is never full!) and provide free dog poop bags for those who forget to bring their own as well. The only drawback is that aside from a few big trees around a park, there's really not much shaded areas for you to hide from the heat. So, make sure you come when it's not 85F+ out. For me, since I live super close by...this temperature/no shade area isn't an issue for me. However, if you are walking from afar or driving here...maybe time it well so you or your loved ones (kids or dogs) don't get heat stroke!
