Obviously the 2 reviews of this park are outdated. The park has had a complete renovation and is now a major asset to the neighborhood and Albuquerque. If you saw the news articles about the grand opening you know this is a unique park that includes a wide variety of climbing structures, swings and two thrilling slides as the focal point of the fun. There is also a skating area, splash pad, dog park, a state of the art exercise area for adults and an area for food trucks. There are places to sit while watching the kids.
There are two things that need to be pointed out about this public shared space. 1. It is a shared space so hopefully people will clean up after themselves. When we visited today I noticed it was already getting a collection of bottles, cans, plastic snack bags, candy wrappers and even bandages in the wood chips throughout the play area. 2. There is not one trash can in the play area, requiring people to walk outside the play area to find a trash can. While I believe people should make the trip, trash cans must be convienent in order to keep the place clean. I picked up trash I found on the playground but didn't feel comfortable leaving my children unsupervised to go outside the play area to the trash cans...which are a ways away.
I hope you find your way to this fantastic park. I hope we can all take care of it so it continues to be an enjoyable experience for all. read more
