By the reviews, many times we just take McDonald's for granted. I want to point out that the morning shift at the York McDonald's probably has the best customer service I've seen in quite some time. I take my grandson to the Liberty Street McDonald's once a week for breakfast. I usually do an online order and pick it up when we arrive and dine in. I know most of their customers are through the drive-through, but I can honestly attest that they are warm, friendly, and even check by your table during the breakfast hours. I can say with certainty that many other fast food restaurants like McDonald's doesn't have someone checking by tables as a norm. The food is consistently good and my grandson always loves their pancakes and sausage. I typically get a steak bagel and is consistently good. The restaurant inside is always clean and presentable. I know there were some other negative reviews, but this has been my experience for over the past six months at this location. Thanks to the staff and management at this McDonald's for being professional and courteous to those who dine in the restaurant. It makes for a pretty special time for me to share a meal each week with my grandson. read more

This location is consistently slow, frequently gets the order wrong, and the food quality is low. Dont bother to call the owner, they will cry about the quality of people they hire. They have a 6AM opening posted but paper signs up that say they dont open until 7AM. I drove up there about two months ago at 6:45AM and was patiently waiting for them to open when the voice came on the loud speaker informing me they dont open until 7AM. I acknowledge what I knew already and proceeded to return to my train of though when the voice asked me to leave. I have not been back. Stay away, let this location go out of business so someone can buy it and manage the operation as it should be. Went to put in a breakfast order at the kiosk and observed the included drink has a sur-charge regardless of drink ordered. When I asked the manager why is there a sur-charge on an included drink based on size and type, she gave me a bogus BS reply that it's the sales tax, and she doesn't control the prices, they are set up by corporate, if you have any comments or complaints you are free to contact their corporate office, and asked if I want the order or if I want to cancel it. The drink is included in the full meal order but the cup it is served in is a separate sur-charge, I asked about if I bring in my own to-go mug, and was told they can only serve drinks​ their provided cups. read more

How does one screw-up a Big Breakfast? Believe it or not, it IS possible. Plainly state "Bacon!" as the meat option, and find an orphan sausage patty on the tray; amazing. The syrup pods, despite being exuberantly labeled 'Hot Syrup' were (at best) drawer-warm. Nothing chills a hot stack of cakes like chilled, luke-warm syrup. And nothing chills the possibility of a repeat visit like a poorly prepared, poorly presented entrée. I don't think I'm being too critical. Food should be served "As advertised", nothing less; nothing more. Thankfully, McDonalds seems to have retired their clown mascot, else-wise it would be far too easy to draw unfavorable parallels, here. On the positive side, the facility is a fine example of the 'new look' dining area, featuring an open spaced, subtlety colored decor. ADA is excellent! If I were to ever visit this chain in the future, I'd opt for the new computer kiosk order-point, and avoid the perplexed, inaccurate counter personnel. However, that scenario is extremely unlikely, despite the new (and somewhat creepy) advertising blitz recently mounted by the chain that started it all. read more

I use to work there, one time I was bleeding on the grill and the manager forced me to keep working on grill making burgers while my hands were having a reaction from the crappy soap they use that dries out your skin, and owners went on to fire me cussing me and telling me that I was the problem. I was bleeding on the grill where they make everyone's burgers and no one would help me just so I could take a second to get some gloves. They kept telling me (in training mind you) that I was suppose to be able to handle a whole lunch rush by myself, without help, the first time I ever did it.... Fred and Margaret knew I was bleeding on the burgers and let them even be served out to customers. They fired me because I told a customer what happened and told them not to order, but they claimed I quit or something on paper. After I left I found out one of the other cooks had a very contagious skin disease (MRSA or something) and no one working there seemed to know that, but daily there were certain people that would try rubbing up against others working in kitchen (some were being nasty, some were just giving hugs and being over-friendly). The only people who seemed to know that the person had the skin disease even, were homosexuals who were known to be sexually involved with eachother. Everyone else was kept in the dark about a deadly skin disease someone working there had, while the people who knew would hug on people, rub up against people, hang out on their side, then would go do it to someone else. They probably spread some of the disease around to each other just because of how the work environment was.... homosexual crowd got to do anything (even steal food). Everyone else was mistreated. One guy even come to work everyday crying. He took my hours after the first week but he would rarely show up to work. Rumor was he had to sleep with the manager to get the hours and boy did he cry. For weeks (when he showed) big alligator tears). Anyway I just wanted to make sure people know that the owners here allowed meat to be served out with human blood on it. It's very easy to find it's located on one of the main streets in York, SC on E. liberty Street right across from the Walmart/Lowes and beside Walgreens. They are open all day and late into the night and are one of maybe four places that are open after midnight and serve food in York. For the most part they serve a full menu at all times meaning they don't only serve a few items after midnight like some of them do. The food there is good and in my opinion they make things when they are ordered so food isn't just sitting under heating lamps for hours which is good. The customer service is good as well the workers are pretty friendly and helpful. Also they are fast you won't wait long either inside when ordering or in the drive thru and they take orders via mobile app so you can order ahead of time if you decide. Finally, the inside has always looked cleaned where you order, the dining area and also the bathrooms look clean and everything well stocked such as cups,lids, straws, napkins etc. read more

Yo, why are you reading a review for McDonald's? It's the same as every other McDonald's restaurants. I mean, it's not like those ones in China that have waiters, or the cool two-story ones in New York, or the ones in Germany with beer, but you know what I mean-- McDonald's is McDonald's. And so this review of McDonald's in York, SC serves as my review for all McDonald's (because it's 2 minutes from my home). McDonald's is one of the best restaurants around for the price. Especially if you're a McPro and you have the iOS app (I guess they have Android too). As far as the daily app deals go, some days are better than others, but there's usually at least one deal worth getting. And of course the drive through has problems with the rewards and payments. My wife and I left our credit cards at home one time, so we had to pay with ApplePay. There was a sticker featured prominently on the window that said "we now take ApplePay". We had to convince the cashier that they do take it, and I had to explain where the Near Field Communication receiver was on their register to take the payment. I've had similar problems in the drive-thru with the app coupons. Why so much negativity in a 5-star review? Because I'm being realistic. I know what I'm getting with McDonald's: delicious, cheap, unhealthy food. All of the problems with the drive-thru coupons and ApplePay stuff are solved instantly by just going in and getting it to-go. They have outward-facing barcode readers inside so that you can scan your own coupon, so you don't have to worry about problems with the cashier not knowing how it works. Side Note: I thinks it's pretty hilarious that this location has a sign that the free WiFi is not only for paying customers only, but also limited to one hour. Are hipsters writing screenplays in York, SC McDonald's instead of the more traditional Starbucks option? Is this location losing money somehow from Wifi bums? How do you screw up pre-made breakfast! My daughter ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese McMuffin and I said I wanted the exact same, my wife ordered a sausage and cheese bagel with no egg. We sit down to eat... My wife's has egg on it and mine has no cheese but the kids has double cheese, look at the bill and they charged me $1.50 each over the advertised price and .40 cents for a piece of missing cheese. I only left one star because that's as low as it would let me rate it. But honestly, this place SUCKS!! I live in Clover South Carolina and rarely come down to York South Carolina but when I do, I usually never stop there unless in a hurry like I was today. I had to get my dad a triple cheeseburger with no pickles. That should be pretty simple. NO PICKLES!! I went inside to order and there were only three other people before me. All of which had very simple orders. I had to wait forever for one sandwich to be made and also when I got home, I found that my sandwich not only had extra pickles but extra onions that I did not ask for. The reason that I asked for no pickles is because my father is allergic to pickles! These people need to start listening and doing better because a lot of people have food allergies and if he had not has checked his food first, he would have gotten very sick. He had to feed his lunch to the dog before he went to work! There is no reason for this. Also the Patty was burnt and dry. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone! Terrible service. First they gave me the wrong meal and then I went back inside to reconcile that because this is a common thing that happens in fast food. Instead of giving me the meal I asked them to replace, they just gave me the 10 piece nuggets. Frustrated from this service I left because my lunch break was ending and I couldn't wait anymore.
