Inside the restaurant is very nice, with lots of seatings, better than the average McDonald's. The food was great. For my food, I had ordered the Big Mac and fries. The Big Mac tasted like the usual Big Mac, nothing to complain about. The fries were perfectly salted, not too much, not too little. Great McDonald's. We spent the entire day exploring the park and wanted a light quick meal since we ate a later lunch in the park. We didn't feel like eating at a sit down restaurant and since McDonald's was located right in front of our hotel it was so convenient and quick. We ordered the double quarter pounder with cheese and the double cheeseburger "to go" so we could take it right to our hotel room. Both hit the spot for us. Food tasted like McDonald's ! 4-26-22 We had seen this McDonalds the day before so it was the best possible choice between gas station food or this or skip the first meal of the day completely. The McGriddle sandwiches were just right for a morning of sightseeing on day 2 at Yellowstone. The location is easy to pull into to place an order at their drive through window. Notice the height of the unshoveled snow in the photo next door. We saved Old Faithful Geyser and Prismatic for today and had already learned the food situation inside. Like most park attendees like us, it was follow the signs, or pull off on the side of the road for wildlife sightings and snap away. We didn't need a heavy meal, just something to keep our tummies from signaling feed me. If you're headed into the park be sure to bring bottled water, a bag of snacks and extra blankets just in case. You could find yourself without WiFi or reception to make a phone call in case of an emergency for hours. It doesn't hurt to be prepared. read more

This has to be the most expensive McDonald's in all of the US. They have 3 self-service stations as you come into the restaurant, and you have to almost beg to get an employee to take your order. The french fries were cold, and the burger was super salty. Bad service and bad food, what more could you ask for while on vacation. Next time, I will make a sandwich at home before entering Yellowstone National Park. read more

After a VERY stressful day of long driving and snowy road conditions in the park, we were in desperate need of food before turning in for the night at a nearby hotel. After an purchase of 47 dollars worth of breakfast all we needed is 2 extra empty cups, on route for kids. We were declined and instead asked for 30 cents for each cup. Standard food and drinks We were happy that this West Yellowstone location had the mango-pineapple smoothie (though it wasn't listed on the menu) which provided a fresh, pick-me-up for our drive north on 191 from West Yellowstone (part of Yellowstone National Park which does not require passing through a pay station but has many pull-offs, campgrounds, and trailheads). A sandwich for each of us, medium fries and smoothie to share, and a medium Americano came out to about $26. $13/each saw us through from breakfast to a very late dinner. Convenient and tastier than a cold deli sandwich -we were thankful. Thanks to this McDonald's - the only fast food drive thru in West Yellowstone! read more

Ok, so I have a couple things to say about this McDonalds. The food on average is about 2-3 times higher than eating at a McDonalds basically anywhere else. I guess I always assumed the franchise would fix its prices as closely as it would it's menu. I know now. The bathroom was dirtier than a truck stop in West Memphis. I unfortunately had to use it only to find, too late, that there was no TP. That was fun. The food is exactly what you would expect. The seating area is so small we opted to eat outside on their outside tables. However, we soon are in the car when we found bird dropping (including most of a worm) all over the table tops. The service was not great. I was honestly surprised by how bad the experience was. And that's coming from a person who already had pretty low expectations going into the restaurant. read more

We left Yellowstone through the west entrance, and saw McDonalds as we drove out of the park and decided to get lunch. The lobby was open, we walked in and got a Spicy Deluxe Crispy Chicken Sandwich and 6 piece nuggets with a drink. The service was very friendly and quick, we were back out in the car in 5 mins. Genuinely the best mcdonalds out there. Have been here three times, every single time i have been here, it has been packed to the brim, and i still order and get my food in 5 mins. There is great service, fast service, and a great meal. They keep the restaurant clean, being able to see a worker wipe down a table immediately after use. Also the bathroom was exceptionally clean and nice. Every single time my burger has been stacked perfectly, with a non smushed bun, and it looks straight out of the commercial. The burger has also been so delicious, juicy, and flavorful: having me needing another bite. The fries have been consistently outstandingly delicious. They have been perfectly crispy, salted, and having me needing another one. I love this mcdonalds, i get excited for it every time i get to go because i know im gonna be treated to great service and a delicious meal. Plenty of parking. The drive-thru line is long. So it looks like this MCD wants to obey the Covid-19 .. all tables are not available for dining and I saw a Black guy sitting at a table. The self served fountain drinks are not available for self serve and I see a woman getting her own drink. They want one entrance door and another door for exit. Honestly, as far as McDonald's go this place is top notch in my opinion. Thing is you're in the middle of nowhere, and it's a tourist town, so you have to realize some things. It's almost ALWAYS busy, and yet I've never once had my order wrong. The employees are nice and cordial and clearly work their butts off serving what I can only imagine to be hundreds of customers per day. Sure they don't offer all the specialty or limited items. And yeah sometimes the slushee or ice cream machine is on the fritz, but I'll be darned if my order isn't always ready in six minutes or less. Even when I customize my order on the touch screen kiosk they always deliver it in a timely manor with little to no mistakes. Even if you're like me and order a milkshake or ice cream which can sometimes take longer to make, they always get it to me before long and are happy to do so. I couldn't be more satisfied with my fast food experiences at this restaurant, I wish all the employees the best! read more

It's comparable to the best locations I've been to throughout the world...although that's not saying much. -1 star for the ÜBER INFLATED PRICES. It cost us nearly $57.00 for 15 hamburgers, and 10 large fries. Their "dollar" menu has an average price of $2.50 per item. They don't offer the normal $1.00 any size beverage like most locations do. -1 star for the crowds. I know it's not the location's fault, but it is a downside for people to keep in mind (as if people seek out wisdom and insight before pulling into a McDonald's parking lot). There aren't many quick food choices in town, so the result is overcrowded wait times to order, sit, and even to use the restroom. -1 star because there was no visible protection for customers from the very eminent danger of bear attacks. There were several bear boxes for trash (bear proof metal containers with inner latches that bears supposedly can't open). Get some armed guards. Don't you know that bears are deadly???? My family visited this McDonald's located at West Yellowstone and this place was really busy Prices are high which we all know this is Yellowstone National Park so expect the high prices before coming so you can plan ahead for food options around town. Now let's talk about our food order my french fries were really salty and didn't eat much of them. My sister's french fries had a dead bug in them and the manager was in shock when I showed the bug to her she gave us a refund for our food order. There is limited seating inside of McDonald's and some seating outside. The staff here are nice and pleasant but need to listen to food orders before giving the wrong food orders or messed up orders to the customer before or after customer who ordered. Yes some of the staff are foreign exchange students who come here to work then go home when it's their time to go home. When we order they spoke pretty good english. Over all experience is good except the bug in the fries and slow wait times and messed up food order but things like this happens from time to time no matter where your at. read more

Came out of Yellowstone, hungry, thirsty and tired. The sight of the Golden Arch was a Yellowstone of its own. Amazing, beautiful and fulfilling. The burgers A+, the fries A+, but the soda -- the best I've ever had a McDonalds! Reliable McDonald's fare. A little pricey, but it's West Yellowstone, so it's tourist-area priced like at an airport or on the beach.

I'm going to buck the trend of 1-2 stars, just because (a) it's NOT that bad, (b) hellew -- you're in a tiny town of maybe 1,100 people on a good day, (c) they're 2+ hours from any major highway or supply route, and figure that big rig bringing in your Big Macs isn't running a charity, and (d) the place was on par with other McDonald's. Yes, it's pricey -- I think my go-to #10 was $8.49, a solid $2-3 more than usual (depending on where I go in town). But note: "in town," where said town is perched along an Interstate, nor a local road accessed by a US highway and the interstate 107 miles away. And it's a boring drive -- just did it, in the dark, Boooooring. But not their fault. Heck, I was just delighted they were open. And had restrooms that flush (hard to find inside Yellowstone). And thrilled they were even open; it was getting later, they do shut down for the season (and why not -- their entrance to the park closes for winter, apparently it snows here). Heck, probably part of why the prices are higher -- they're not able to pay the rent for ~3 months a year. If you want to eat local, go for it. When the sun sets, though, and it's off-season, you go with what's open... and what the toddler is going to willingly eat without a scene. read more
