I have no idea who I can talk to or what I can do about this but all I can say is DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. Its not worth it for how you will get treated and the awful quality of the staff. Order always gets messed up, but tonight was an all new version of horrible. Employee took forever with our order and then proceeded to interrupt our ordering to ask us if his car (which was flashing) was making noise and if it got hit. We then proceeded to be transferred to a new person who had no clue what our order was so we had to start from the beginning. We asked for a manager who ignored all of our concerns, backed up his employee who was NOT doing his job, and proceeded to tell us to either order or leave. So we left. As someone who works a similar fast food job seeing the disrespect and off task attitudes of the entire staff was disappointing. Drive the extra distance to a different location. read more

This McDonalds has bad reviews, as I see do most McDonalds locations, which prompted me to write a review of my experience with this location. I've never had an issue with this McDonalds. I come here quite often because my daughter loves happy meals lol. The employees here are always very friendly to me and work hard. The service has been slow once in a while when they were very busy, but that's to be expected. Overall though, the service is quick and good. McDonalds has a lot of haters, but it is what it is. You either like it or you don't. I personally don't think it's that bad. The quality of the food ingredients doesn't seem the be the greatest, but I'd say you know what you're getting when you show up here and that is in no way the fault of the employees. It's cheap and it's fast and it's easy and lots of kids like it. I liked it when I was a kid. And that's just how it is. I think for what it is, this location does a very good job and I give them kudos for that. 4 stars for the employees working hard with a smile everyday. read more

First off we got in line too order our food got straight up ignored. Behind white people and behind us was a white lady. There was a young lady seeming to take the order of a family member took there order then left to go sit with them while people were waiting. We got frustrated so we called for someone in the back and they ignored us when we called for assistance. One individual just looked at when we were calling. We left to go to the gas station on the side and then to my surprise they took the white ladys order.This is so sad that race is what it comes to if you want to get food. My friend and I went to this McDonald's and ordered 3 meals and a kids meal. When we got home we realized we were missing the 3 fries and the nugget kids meal was missing some nuggets. Elliot was nice enough to have me come back and get the stuff but what I will say is the ATTITUDE and the amount of eye rolls I got from the teenagers is ridiculous. I'm very disappointed. Yelp and google have different times of operation posted. Google says they are open until 11pm. Yelp says that they are open til midnight. I get off work at ten and can never pull into McDonald's to get a late night meal because they're always closed when I get to the drive thru at 10:30. Freaking ridiculous. Every other fast food joint is closed way before then so McDonald's is just a last resort. Not anymore, I guess. They suck. read more

Service is terrible here. I'm watching 5 employees run around and there are 3 orders being worked on that are taking forever. Now an employee is complaining about doing dishes and arguing back and forth with a manager. Also the guy who handed me my drink cup had his phone out checking a message while handing the cup to me. Stopped by to grab a drink on the way to a meeting and came to discover this location does not serve every drink on the menu. If a certain drink is not an option, not because you are just out of product, but because you do not even offer that as an option, then remove it from the menu. Doing so would probably lead to improved customer satisfaction and less disappointment. read more

Many of the workers don't seem to care about their jobs, and no one was pushing them to get things done. Our order took 15 minutes. I don't think I've ever waited that long to get food at a fast food restaurant for two sandwiches and three ice cream cones. There was one worker that was running frantic trying to help people while the other four or five just kind of stood there like they had no purpose being there. Went through the drive thru at 1am and they were only serving breakfast. I asked to substitute the sausage on the egg McMuffin for bacon, which they said they are unable to do until five AM. I reluctantly settle on the sausage McMuffin because I had a two dollar egg McMuffin coupon. When I pull up to pay, the cashier informs me they cannot accept coupons on the app until five AM "because that's the way the system is set up". I had already opened my coupon which means I only had two hours to redeem it. Instead of understanding my situation, he confirmed "there is nothing I can do". So I just pulled out and didn't get anything. Please change your system to allow the coupons to be used 24/7. read more

Directly off of the I-35, this is the easiest fast food and gas station to get to in the city if you are just traveling through. The McDonald's is recently completely renovated, so it is modern and sleek, but the dining room is small since it shares the building with a gas station. Full menu despite the small size and breakfast is served until 10:30 am. read more

OWNER OPERATOR is at fault. An extremely busy property on a Saturday morning which looks like it just needs better training and the owner operator has not appropriately adopted McD's best in class operational processes. The young staff is working hard and putting forth good effort but a multitude of ops issues - out of decaf coffee, McCafe station under staffed, orders taken correctly but not fulfilled correctly. First, this has been an ongoing problem. I've never taken the time to reach out to anyone about this issue, but today I decided that someone needs to know. I cannot be the only person having issues with this McDonalds and I'm guessing most people just don't take the time to post a review since I never have either. We typically visit this McDonalds about twice a month. I keep hoping they'll get it together. I mean, it's McDonalds. I've had the worst ONGOING experience with the McDonalds (#24462) in West Des Moines. They rarely get my order right. I always always always ask them to double check my order. They don't. I check it, it's wrong. I go in and talk to the manager and she apologizes. Offers to fix the order yet again. It's exhausting. The managers at this McDonalds just do NOT get it! Maybe the fast food industry isn't a good fit for them? Please please please help the staff some REAL training. Double checking orders should be mandatory. Always. Every order. My last visit was 4/8/18 @ 7:48 AM Order #68. Ordered through the drive through. Asked the woman at the window to double check my order. She assured me it was correct because she'd "packed it herself". Got home and was missing 3 hasbrowns. Called the store and asked for the manager. Explained the situation and was told she'd take my name for a free meal at another time. Sigh. I decided to drive back and have my order corrected. Once again the manager apologized. I really do not understand why this McDonalds can't seem to get their orders correct!! The woman who lied to me about my order being correct is obviously ignoring me and trying not to make eye contact. Doesn't apologize. Not surprised. If the next McDonalds wasn't 2 miles further away, I'd go there instead. This is ridiculous! I can count on one hand the times my order has been correct in the 5 years we've lived here; drive-thru or walk-in. While the lady at the window clearly LIED to my face, I blame the managers at this establishment. It's a trickle down effect. The "worker bees" wouldn't feel comfortable lying to customers and half ass doing their jobs if the managers weren't modeling that behavior in some capacity. Is this really how you want your business perceived in this community? Where is the work ethic, the integrity, the pride in their work, the customer service skills, the sense of urgency and the empathy for customer inconvenience. Seems to be non-existent. I talk to the same manager every single time. Today I reminded her we've talked at least 5 or 6 times in the last 12 months. She agreed. I asked how she plans to fix this and she said the same exact thing she always says, "We're working on it." Really? After placing my order at the drive-through another person pulled up in the drive-through next to me and was waited on while I sat there hearing nothing but silence. After saying hello twice I finally got a response but not before the person after me got their order finished. After ordering and pulling around to the pay window and paying for my order I informed that employee that there was a large patch of ice out in front of the restaurant between the first two parking spots, that I fell on and cut my leg. I then took time to explain specifically where it was located, even though (there are only four spots out front) The ground was dry at this time and there was no other rain snow or ice. This particular spot would have been simple to find and locate because it was the only one there. Due to the location of the ice patch a person pulling into a parking spot would most likely not notice it when exiting their car and most likely immediately fall when trying to just normally get out of their car and stand up. I included that I myself had just fallen on it when trying to walk into the restaurant. This is why I ended up going through the drive-through. I informed more than one person that someone else was going to fall and might not be as lucky as I was to just get a cut. They could get seriously injured and so they needed to take care of it immediately. This employee said OK and I heard her tell another employee behind her. I then got my food order and took a minute securing it in the passenger seat before attempting to drive away. As I slowly took my foot off the break the employee yells out the window I don't know if I gave you the right order...hold on... as I stop my car now to back up I can't because the person behind me has pulled forward and they cannot back up because there's someone behind them and so forth. So now I have to pull to the side and park my car once againto get out with my cut leg and walk in to The restaurant to exchange it for the correct order. After retrieving the correct order, I mentioned the ice spot one last time I then got into my car and pulled across the street to watch if anyone came out to fix the problem. I sat there eating my food for about 15-20minutes but no one ever came out. Luckily it was not an extremely busy time of day and most people were going to the drive-through. All I can do is shake my head in anger and frustration. I was totally disgusted. Unfortunately I couldn't stay there all day to see if anyone ever came out to do anything about it --I doubt they ever did, but if they did, they were certainly not in any hurry to protect or keep their customers safe. read more

Slowest service I've ever encountered at a McDonald's. They also don't serve every drink on the menu, and are constantly "out" of food menu items. I've also been to this location on multiple occasions where their "computers are down." The line is always out of control and every time I am asked to wait for my order in the reserved parking spots, only to see most of their employees standing around. At least they get their orders right most of the time, and usually the food is at least room temperature. They seriously need to step their game up. read more

Upon arriving on a Friday night at 5pm, this location was not very busy, although the drive thru was busy. However, the front end employees taking orders inside did not seem to be busy. We ordered, but waited 15 minutes to receive our food. The few other customers had similar waits. The tables were all dirty and the floor was too. Some tables had trash, food, and trays on them for the entire time we were there (1 hour). The restrooms were just as bad. We got our food and some items were missing or they gave us additional items. It seemed that other customers were getting the wrong items too. A milkshake was delivered to a table that did not order it. Once we finished our meal, we could not throw away our trash because the bin was filled and overflowing. My husband alerted the front and a young man did take care of it. While we are, I noticed the front end employees talking while not taking orders. Since it wasn't very busy, I felt there would have been ample time to wipe tables or scan the dining area for trash. This was disappointing and we will not be back to this location. read more

I ordered two milks, hot cakes and sausage, and a large coffee for breakfast. When I got to work a few minutes later, there was no butter or syrup for the hot cakes and the milk was frozen. I called the restaurant and asked to speak with the supervisor. She told me she was the supervisor. When I told her what the problem was and I wanted my money back on everything but the coffee, she became very confrontational. She told me I needed to drive back and give her the unacceptable items. I told her I did not intend to leave work right then. I asked for her name and asked who owned the restaurant. She gave me a fictitious name for the owner. When I asked for his phone number, she told me to look it up and slammed the phone down. I called Raccoon Valley Partners (the franchisee) and reported this. The lady told me she would have the real supervisor call. I left my work and cell phone numbers. I have heard nothing in the past 6 days. They apparently care nothing about customer service. AVOID THIS PLACE! Lots of other choices. read more
