Honestly I don't know where to start. I will say the young woman who took out order was very nice however the quality of the food was far from nice. My dad got a McMuffin and the buns were rock hard, we asked for new buns and they quickly gave us a new one which we appreciated. However I had also gotten a McMuffin and was half way through when I flipped it upside down and saw a quarter size of green on the bottom. I'm not sure if it was mold or not but we touched the green and it fell off and left the crater shown in the picture. I felt so grossed out but don't want to go up to them again. Shouldn't expect much from a McDonald's and I honestly hate to say that because I used to work at one as my first job. However the people have NO customer service. The lady, who was a manager did not care enough to get a name was extremely rude and impatient. She refused to put our drive thru codes in. When I asked her to do so she told us to have a goodnight because she doesn't need the stress and is already short staffed. Sorry, but maybe if you had a better demeanor people would actually show up to work ‍. Just a thought. As a person in customer service you don't take out any of your frustrations on CUSTOMERS. After dealing with her not proceeding to take the order I then went inside and was greeted by a much nicer person. She took our order no issues. My kids got their happy meal so I was happy. However the lady we dealt with in drive thru was sitting there talking about how difficult we were and how she refuses to help anyone taking too long because she didn't have the patience for it. I go up to the door, no indoor dining. Ok, drive to the drive, stay 5 minutes at the order box, nothing. I think it's broke, so I go to the first window. Nobody is there, I can't see anyone inside, so I wait a few minutes. There are no cars in front of it behind me. I drive to the second window, I still haven't seen anyone there. While driving from Houston to San Antonio with grandchildren we stopped to pick up food on 07/15/2023 @ 9:00 pm. I used the mobile app and paid with Apple Pay. The drive thru line was not moving, I turned the car off. We finally made it to the intercom about 9:20, cars had left the drive thru line. Waited at the intercom for several minutes then I said Hello! A man came on and said he was busy and I needed to wait. Then nothing...I said Hello again and asked if they were still taking orders? I thought maybe they were being robbed. He came back and was agitated and told me I was just going to have to wait. I said I have a mobile order, he mumbled something and walked away. I just drove to through the line to the window...another 10 minutes. When I got to the window I was greeted by a man in a filthy t-shirt and a runny nose...he had boogers coming out of his nose. The window was dirty, there was a guy in the back with bushy hair and a thick beard and no hair net. There were 4-5 males in the kitchen area and the line was at a standstill. At this point I just wanted my money back. When I asked the disheveled man for my money back he got angry. He said he couldn't give any money back because I hadn't paid him. I said I used Apple Pay , I gave him my code and showed him the transaction on my phone. At that he ripped off his headset and flung it across the room. Then he started punching the counter and the wall and he walked away. Another man came to the window to apologize and said he was calling the manager. I told I just wanted my money back. I was going to call the police. Then the disheveled man returned with my refund balled up in the receipt. He glared at me didn't say a work just handed me the money. I left, drove a few more miles to Flatonia to another Mc Donald's . I've visited Mc Donald's in 20+ states and Europe but this is hands down the worst experience ever. One star for the easy on easy off location and for the fact that my food tasted good and was hot and fresh. The caramel iced coffee was so refreshing after driving in the 105 degree heat from Houston to San Antonio. ZERO stars for the absolutely disgusting, filthy restrooms that looked like they hadn't been cleaned in YEARS. I am pretty fair about bathrooms off of busy travel highways but the situation here was just awful. It honestly looked like no staff has been in there, well, ever. This Mcdonalds is frequently closed at random times. Just now I stopped at 5:30 in the evening and there was a handmade sign on the door saying they were closed until 4:00 pm. WEIRD! We waited in line for about 15 min & then when we get to the intercom to order, we just sit there & wait. My husband finally said hello & then the girl comes on-and no niceness in her voice at all. As far as the food, it was what you'd expect from McDonalds. No problem there, but the employees were serving up apathy. While the food for all the customers was prepared, the cashiers huddled in the prep area. I asked for a cup lid since they had run out. A cashier produced 5 cup lids & just set them on the counter. What did she want me to do with the other cup lids? I put the rest of them in the lid dispenser. I get it, this is a small town and there's not much traffic through the store. Unconventional Request, I live in FL, my grandparents live in Weimer TX. They literally live in McDonald over there. I met the lovely ladies and staff before during a trip. Long story short, I was not able to contact my grandparents for months, no call backs or letters. I remember the staff there, especially Elizabeth who is very personable. I called her, explained my situation, she knew my grandparents because they live there, and she was able to tell me, that they were ACTAULLY sitting at a table. I was so thankful. She was able to relay a message to them. I know not everyone is happy with service but they make-up in a small tightknit personable community. One day when I am able, I will repay the favor.
