If I could give this place 0 stars I would... The management is terrible, I've had numerous orders messed up in the past and I just got done waiting 40 mins in the parking lot after placing an order on the app and they didn't start making our food until we went inside and asked what was going on with our order. The staff here is clueless and management doesn't know how to handle a lunch or dinner rush. I wouldn't recommend anybody to go here Unfortunately there aren't many other fast restaurants here in Walterboro either so we are just stuck with the crappy staff at the few restaurants we do have in town. read more

Back story- I got stuck in awful traffic coming from Maryland to Florida and the route was directing me around the I-95 route and my husband and I were out into a small town that was slowly booming from hungry people being rerouted. ANYWAY I ordered 40 nuggets and it was the cheapest and freshest order of nuggets I've ever had (I've lived in 6 different states and have been to multiple McDonald's on my travels). Excellent McDonald's! We wanted breakfast after leaving Edisto Island, and we're happy we went here. Super friendly service, yummy breakfast items and the restaurant was super clean. We ate inside, and every empty table was clean, drink area was clean as well. I'm not sure why their rating is so low, but this was one of the best experiences I've had at McDonald's and I rarely eat it, but occasionally I love their breakfast. read more

Quite possibly the worst place to get food in Walterboro. Their service has been horrendous ever since covid hit and it has only gotten worse. The drive thru line is wrapped around the building every time I pass by. And it doesn't move, either. There are two order lanes but only one is working at a time. I've waited in that line for 30 minutes at a complete standstill a few times before deciding to leave. A couple days ago I went inside to see if that was any better. It was worse. All I ordered were two McNugget meals and literally waited an hour. Brought it to their attention twice but was only told "I'll go check" with no follow up. The cashier (or she might've been a shift supervisor) told me that they're short staffed, yet I noticed about 5-6 employees total. What are they even doing? That doesn't seem short staffed to me, but I've never worked in fast food. When I finally got my food it was mediocre. Not worth an hour wait. Some of the fries were soggy and the nuggets were at room temperature, like they had been sitting out for a while. They also forgot a fry and my two drinks that I then had to ask for, but that's on brand for McDonald's. If you're in Walterboro, please go support local restaurants. Even if you have to sit down and order somewhere, I promise you'll be out of there faster than you'd be at this place. read more

I was there today and in line for about 25-30 minutes, when I got to the ordering speaker I said "hello" after sitting there for another 15 minutes, and the rude worker SHOUTED at me to WAIT!! Absolutely worst customer service anywhere in town. Plus they always get my order wrong. "Happy meals" is pretty much always the answer when you ask my 6 year old what he wants for dinner. I decided to forgo the long drive through line and come in to pick up our meals. I wouldn't call the restaurant dirty but unkept is more accurate. Napkins on the ground, some tables needed to be whipped down... that sort of thing. The person taking my order was nice, she was new (I know because she asked for help punching in the order). She was the only good part of the stop. After they put my food on the counter they were done with me. I kept calling out "Excuse me, I didn't get my cups" "Excuse me". The manager was two feet in front of me with her back turned as I kept calling out. Finally I caught the attention of a different employee and he gave me my cups. Now, I'm no stranger to McDonalds. I know what I'm getting, what it looks like and how it tastes. The food I received was below standard. Looked sad and tasted worse. I hope nothing was wrong with it, because I feel sick to my stomach as I'm writing this. I wouldn't recommend this location. read more

Drive through order taker was not willing or did not know what the available drinks are and then once I found the "list on the board" they "didn't have lemonade". Order $total never spoken or displayed on board, had to ask what the total was. At window two people did not know what the order was and so had to "pull forward" and wait. Pathetic that so many staff could not get it right on the front or back end of the order. Should not be allowed the franchise if can't keep up the standards. read more

The service was fast and the people were pleasant, but the salad tasted horrible! It tasted dirty. :( My 3 kids enjoyed their meals and they have an outdoor play equipment area that helped burn energy, but my stomach is still turning from the couple of bites of salad I had. read more

Waited at the screen in the drive through for over 30 minutes AGAIN to make my order due to the employee talking to her friend at the window. When she finally asked for my order she was beyond rude, and kept cutting me off. The man in the car behind me even got frustrated a hollered about the service and how the lady was speaking on the speaker then drove off. When I finished making my order and drove around I was behind the friends car and they were still talking at the window very loudly and rudely not giving a care in the world to me or all the cars around me. This place is a complete joke, my husband went through the drive through and ordered his meal. Then when he received the wrong meal, the woman behind the counter argued with him and told him to look at his receipt (this was her form of evidence to prove that he had ordered what she had given him). Anyway, We have been here multiple times and have consistently received poor service but this experience really stood out, the staff are horrible and unprofessional. I never expect excellent service from a McDonald's but this was by far THE WORST McDonald's I have EVER been to. We go to the counter to order, and had to repeatedly it several time as what was rang in was not what we had said. We love Mac sauce so we asked for it to be put on our sandwiches. We get our order, I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with Mac sauce, I got a quarter pounder. No big deal I tell the woman behind the counter what I had ordered and she looked at me like she didn't know what I was saying. When I get my chicken sandwich there is no Mac sauce. I tell the woman again about the Mac sauce and at this point I feel like I am just bothering her. We finally get our order and leave the counter to find that there is no sauce for our nuggets. No big deal we just asked for some. We were standing at one of the tables, we've been on the road for 12 hours and we're not aware of the lobby closing at 7 and just wanted to stand before we got back in vehicle. Several employees had walked passed us and said nothing so we thought it was okay. Man were we wrong, a different employee came up to us and rudely told us we could not be in the lobby if we were not using the restroom or ordering. When I apologized and told her we weren't aware she continued to rudely tell us they would get fined and again we could not be standing at the table. I am not one to complain, I work in the restaurant and understand COVID and understaffing, but the whole time I just felt like we were just bothering them. There are more McDonald's in the area and I HIGHLY recommend going to one of those locations. read more

I live in the Walterboro area but go to McDonald's only when necessary. This morning I really wanted a hot chocolate as my sinuses are really bothering me, so a hot drink what was I wanted. The drive through line was backed up around the building. There were 3 school buses of people inside. While I understand that's a lot of people at once, it shouldn't affect the drive through that much. Staff should be trained to handle an unexpected crowd. When I finally moved up to order I had to wait several minutes, only to be told that the espresso machine was down. What? It's breakfast hours, and the only thing you can serve hot to drink is coffee? This is not surprising, however, because in the summer the ice cream machine is usually down. This just supported the reason why I don't visit here often. read more
