I've been to Sonic's before elsewhere and gotten a pretzel stick but lord only knows what happened here. The line for drive thru was extremely long. All booth slots were occupied and the service was slow. I waited 15 minutes to place my order and an additional 15 to receive it thru the drive thru. The lady at the window was enthusiastic and friendly even with the busy atmosphere around, my strawberry lemonade sushi was great the chicken zinger was also good hot with great crunch and a nicely toasted bun, however it was smaller than a McDonald's hamburger. read more

A premium dog combo for me - NY dog, medium tater tots and a medium coffee for me. Total including tax was $13.07. From the initial order - which had to be repeated several times - to cold and ill prepared food, tray 8 at stall 15 on Friday was just a bad experience at this Sonic Drive-In, located in Walterboro, South Carolina. In attempting our order, it had to be repeated several times. I tried ordering the Chicago Dog - which was advertised on the menu as well as on posters directly in front of the stall - the cashier advised that Sonic didn't sell the dog any longer. Moving from Chicago to New York, I ordered the NY dog combo, which included tater tots and a drink. I choose coffee - which turned out to be a Green Mountain blend. My daughter ordered the cheeseburger combo with fries and a Dr. Pepper. Her cheeseburger was ordered with mayo, mustard and ketchup. Food was cold upon delivery, very unsightly looking and generally inedible. Coffee was luke warm and nothing to write home about. I ended up dumping my entire meal while my daughter ate a few bites of her burger. Have you ever looked at a meal and said "I'm not eating that" before dumping it straight in the trash? Upon arriving you'll see that the outside isn't kept up with very well. There's black stains on the outside walls, along with trash on the ground and dirty bathrooms. I've never had a bad experience with the staff though. So far every visit I've been satisfied with the customer service. (Not great customer service, just not bad). The food is inconsistent. Though I've never had a bad burger (they've always been juicy and flavorful), the tater tot's on the other hand will either be bland with no salt at all or so much it's like you're drinking straight from the salt shaker. The ice cream is another hit or miss, it's either smooth, thick, and creamy or very grainy which is an off putting texture in ice cream. read more

They are very rude, arrived at 9:50pm, they proceeded to turn off the lights while I was in line and they didn't acknowledge me until I said something at 10pm after waiting 5 minutes for the person in front of me to order and 5 minutes thinking they would acknowledge us. They stated that they were close and disregarded our plea that we were there prior to closing. I will never patronize this store, these people and they should never work in service of people with their attitudes and total disregard. read more

Why 4 stars? Because although the service was slow they provided it with a smile and on rollerskates! We ordered a few shakes and each one was tasty. I love all the options that are available and the smile my son has when handed a shake presented with whipped cream and a cherry on top. read more

We have gone here twice within the last year. The Super sonic double burger was way overcooked. YUCK.. It had 1 drop of ketchup and a drop of mustard,, about the size of a pea. The service was very slow. We stopped for breakfast. I ordered a sausage biscuit, my wife ordered a bacon egg and cheese biscuit both with tots. I ordered a sweet tea my wife ordered coffee with splenda. We received 2 bacon egg and cheese biscuits and no tea. We were at the drive thru, so my wife took the order inside to get it fixed. I got my tea, but the biscuits were still wrong. This place is off our list of places to stop! read more

Wow! Had to scream my order thru the speaker very, very slowly as lady could not hear or understand. Had to correct multiple times. Menu boards from one space to the next are so close we could only get out of one side of car and I don't have a huge car!! Ugh!! I ordered a grilled cheese. The first sandwich they gave me was a bacon egg and cheese. We took it back and it went out to another customer. Then they gave me a bacon and cheese sandwich. What a wonderful experience! Just the opposite experience I had last night at McDonald's. The food was good and hot and the servers were very courteous and even came back to the vehicle to ask me if I needed anything and to make sure everything was good.
