You can't go wrong with a Cook Out stop on a roadtrip! It's always ready quickly and is so affordable. And who doesn't love a meal that you can get a milkshake as your drink? This particular location does not have a dinning room, but it does have a drive thru as well as a window that you can walk up to for placing orders. read more

We wanted a burger and were unsure with the reviews. But we took a chance. The service was fast, the burgers were hot and non-greasy. Perfectly made, which is saying a lot. Their sanitation rating sign was a grade A. So I'd eat here again anytime. read more

This is not a location that you can dine in. It's drive thru or window service only. FYI. We went on a Saturday and it was packed but moved swiftly. Very kind customer service. Have to eat in your car so can't speak to cleanliness or anything like that. The combo trays are a crowd fave in our home. read more

Quick stop on a road trip. was recommended by a fellow traveler. Great burger and fries. Staff were quick and friendly, service was fast. Typical drive through burger place, so light on ambiance. read more

Food is usually out quickly and hot. They haven't messed up any of my orders yet which is rare for a fast food place haha. We love the chicken quesadillas, cheese bites and fries. Staff taking orders can be a little short with you at times, but not straight up rude. read more

To be honest, we only got a few onion rings with our order. We were disappointed, however, TENNELLE the manager made it completely worth our while! The rest of the meal was great except for the coleslaw and few onion rings. She asked us how she could make it better for our visit. TENNELLE made an extra LARGE order of onion rings for us and handled her managerial position, with a lot of compassion. Thanks again TENNELLE! Gary and Kim read more

This was a first time visit for us as we were traveling to Charlotte. The menu is busy!!! There are a lot of options. We tried the quesadillas, burgers, fries, corn dogs and sweet tea. All really great food! The food tasted much better than most take out. I like the fact that they have a drive through on both sides of the building. We did wait a bit for our food but it was all fresh and hot - so well worth it in my option. read more

I would not recommend this location. There is only drive thru and carry out. No inside. No dining room or restrooms which is inconvenient and stupid considering it is located right off of interstate 95. read more

We've eaten at Cookout about a handful of times. We were traveling on I-95 and saw they had a Cookout at exit #57. This place is a "drive through" service only with a "walk up window". No inside dining. They also don't have any place outside to sit for eating. So you would think the wording "Cookout" would have some type of seating outside like a cookout lol. This is the only location we found that doesn't have indoor dining. The website states they have a few of these types of restaurants. The other Cookout locations had great food and never disappointed. This location the hamburgers were just ok! The price was good so we don't complain. I was really looking forward to a milkshake but this location the milkshake machine was broken. Service was fast and friendly. read more

Just stopped by daughter, grandson and wife wanted a snack , the young lady who took our order(Jasmine) was very helpful and efficient. My love ones said the shakes and food was fantastic.it's a walk up window to order, no dine in service as most of Cook out restaurants are. Very few have indoor dining, but for the price it's worth a visit. read more

So it's a walk up or drive-thru joint. It's not pretty, maybe nostalgic. The outside could use a little sprucing up. That being said the milkshakes were delicious! We didn't eat the food but liked the different varieties of milkshakes so much, we made sure we found one on every day of our three day vacation. At each of the locations (Greensboro, Manning, and Perry) the staff was friendly and was fast. It was great for a quick sweet pick me up! read more

Waited over an hour for our food, and the they still got the order wrong. Not great quality food either. No outdoor seating at all.

Traveling south and we never have tried this restaurant before. Got our order wrong, chicken tenders so overcooked hard to chew, missing a patty for a double burger, French fries soggy. Cheap and gross food! Never again! read more

Needed a quick bite to eat on the road when passing through. Even though the menu has a lot going on it still had something for everyone in the car. I said quick bite, but unfortunately we waited 30 minutes from start to finish. Felt bad because there were only 2 people working. These are different times and we remembered that even though we are frustrated waiting, the workers inside have got to be frustrated and having a worse day than you. The food was fresh and firstly I am going to recommend the cheese bites! I ordered a chicken ranch wrap. Very good, no complaints. FYI the portions are small (but I'm small so for me it's no problem). read more

Cook Out has looked so intriguing, and I was finally able to try it. This place reminds me of Rally's if it were maybe redesigned as a carnival funhouse. First difficulty was the drive-thru, and there was one lane on each side of the building. No problem navigating, but strange. Maybe this is more efficient during peak hours. If you have never ordered from here before, you might want to try and decipher the menu by first going to their website. The menu looks like it was made on an old Geocities personal website, which translates very well into what you see at the speaker. In any event, combos work a little different here in that you get two sides and a choice of a drink if you select the main entree tray option. As I explain this, I am sure there is so much i am missing...But this was legitimately complicated. After navigating a Cheesecake Factory inspired menu and ordering, the food was prepared and handed over surprisingly fast. The burger was great, and it tasted like someone grilled it on a charcoal grill. The fries were fresh tasting, similar to Five Guys, but a smaller portion with a fraction of the salt. If you haven't tried it and are in the mood for a fast food burger, I recommend checking this out. Hopefully this chain finds an adult to fix the crazy menu and expands into more states. Great food. read more

We were shocked, no dining room with NO bathrooms. French fries were soggy and room temperature. Thought I ordered a float but received a soda. Stay farrrrrrr away. Next time it looks like the University of McDonalds read more

The service was okay, while ordering they made it seem like we were rushed when they weren't even busy. The food took forever to come out, I think we were waiting 35 minutes for a few trays. the drinks were good! the food itself was either burnt or underdone, no in between. my fries were underdone and soggy while my corn dog and chicken tenders were over done. The presentation of the food is what disappointed me the most, the actual styrofoam container had many holes burned through it and so did my corn dog. very disappointed with this cookout and won't be coming back. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars. We had to stand outside in the rain for 20 minutes, then they forgot half of our food. There is nowhere inside to sit, so the parking lot got jammed up, and we couldn't get out. I didn't eat anything, because they forgot my entire order, but everyone who did eat got food poisoning. read more

As Leo Goetz says. The F you at the drive through. The soda machine was out of co2 or something else was broken and no one noticed. The burgers turned out fine though using foam with hot food before we could get them out of the bag half of the containers were melted. Mmm. Melted foam on fries. I've been to a few cookouts they're great places but if the managers aren't on the ball or worse buried stuff like this happens read more

We had never heard of Cook Out and had never been to one. That's enough Cook Out for this lifetime. The sole thing bumping this to 2 stars instead of 1 are the tater tots. They were great. FIRST, the menu. What on Earth is going on with this menu? It's just a bunch of random words on a chart. Choose 1 for JR tray or Choose 1 for tray plus choose 2 sides or double up plus choose a beverage. That's confusing, but then there is an entire menu below that, as well. There is nothing telling me if those are the things listed above or modifications of those things or alternatives to the things above or substitutions. It's like a group of kids just said things they wanted to eat and just put them on a list. There is no logic or rhyme or reason to the layout of the menu. There are just things on it. I had no idea what I was ordering... but the girl taking my order just gave me the items I said I wanted (I suppose that's a win???) even though I don't know if I ordered properly. I asked and she said "that all?" So we'll call it possible. Second, the food. With the exception of the tater tots... this meal was a challenge to even eat and we were SOOOO hungry we were a slam dunk for a win. Third, the milkshakes. Three of the four of the people in the car really like milkshakes and all got our favorites flavors. All three milkshakes were thrown away between half and 3/4 full. My chocolate chip mint was the worst of the three. It was easily the worst milkshake I've ever had. We took zero chances on flavors. We all got flavors we love. This wasn't a "well I don't know if I like ______ random weird flavor milkshakes" type moment. This was homerun milkshake territory and they struck out. read more

Please hire more staff. We waited over 60 minutes for our food and shakes. This was an "outdoor" cookout - thankfully the weather was sunny. The meals sat at the kiosk unattended for 15 minute and when we finally received them , food was cold and sides incorrect, We spoke with three different workers to receive our shakes. After the full hour we finally received our milkshakes- incorrect flavors. Avoid this establishment. read more

When in the Carolina's, Cook Out is a must for our Teens! This is a newer location & Employee's were polite and got our order quickly. Their tray is a good value with a lot of interchangeable options!! My fav is their barbq sandwich, it has coleslaw & Texas Pete on it. (you can remove the toppings) I always get both sides as hushpuppies. They are so yummy. My teens always get cheese quesadillas as sides. Hubby, corndog. Their milkshakes are our favorite! Again, A LOT of options! OR they have suggestions. Doing drive thru? Give them a try. read more

Awful absolutely awful Ask for 2 double 1 let's make it a tray. 1 with mustard 1 without. When driving away and getting back on I95 our burger was so thin bunrt and crispy dry and hard. Why??????? Both sandwiches had so some mustard it was all over everything. Why? One 1 sandwich was supposed to have mustard I used almost all the napkins the remove some of the mustard just for it to see the patties. Well ones that happen it reveals 2 burnt overly smash dehydrated pieces of remains of what was once a hamburger patty.$17.79 for mustard chips with bread. read more

Worst customer service - waited in the drive thru for 15 minutes with no acknowledgement. We drove around to park and walk up to the outside window to order but were not acknowledged there either. We could see at least 4 people working inside but no orders being taken. As a last ditch to be noticed, I walked up to the second drive thru window and asked if they were open. They have gotten our orders wrong multiple times. Super slow service. Nowhere to sit. No restrooms. Worst Cook Out we've ever been to.

Let's start with a few hiccups - the drive through was a hot mess. One car did not move for almost a 1/2 hour. While other cars just didn't realize there was a second option for a drive thru window. This was an issue on both the establishment & the guests not paying any mind to their surroundings. The one car that backed up the drive thru should have been asked to go & park curb side to avoid the pile up on to the main road. Thankfully I made it around the line of cars not paying any mind to the second drive-thru & waited about 5 minutes to place our order. We had a quesadilla, chargrilled chicken sandwich, cheese fries, cheese curds, milkshake, bottled water & a chicken wrap all for under $25. The price alone is what salvaged this review! Then the chicken sandwich & the cheese curds managed to get this to 3 stars - plus the milkshake!!! New spot in town it seems & let's be honest traveling by road for 13 hours & having a good option for a quick drive thru meal is quite impossible. So this spot resolved to get us fueled & back on the road. Yes we waited... a while... 45 minutes almost an hour but we took the chance for pee breaks. Hopefully they'll help navigate better down the line as they get further into servicing the public. read more

Slow. Milkshakes weren't even mixed. Went there twice and both times bad. Drive through took forever.

30 minute wait time today for no apparent reason. Disappointing Hope the food is worth the wait.

The service was good, everyone was kind, but my sister had strictly asked for a cheese quesadilla (because she is vegetarian). The worker even repeated this twice (A CHEESE quesadilla). Not only did they give her a quesadilla with chicken in it, but it was also burnt. Very disappointed with this experience. read more
