Spicy Habanero McChicken 9.88/10- this is the best thing McDonald has it's SO good. The habanero sauce is so much better than the mayo found in the regular McChicken. They don't put a lot of sauce but I like it as it doesn't overpower the seasoned chicken and adds the perfect hint of creaminess and spice. The toasted sesame bun also adds so much flavor. Literally so good that we have ended up at McDonalds 3 times now. For a 24/7 McDonald's, their service and quality is also great. Fries 10/10- literally the best fries Skor McFlurry 8.97/10- this was absolutely delicious. Skor is a popular chocolate in Canada that has thin butter toffee covered in milk chocolate. I'm not a huge toffee fan but this was so good and we got it in a snowstorm. It was also even better when the McFlurry was a little melted. I really like the crunchy texture as well. It's quite similar to Heath but the toffee isn't as buttery and there's more chocolate which I prefer Poutine 8.78/10- the McDonald's fries with poutine is so unmatched. Tiny location by UBC Village. This has been around for decades. Metered parking is available on the side streets. The parking will probably cost more than your meal. The seating area is rather small. Their claim to fame is their N facing counter bar-style seating, which is nice when they open up the large garage doors during the summer months. My ice coffee felt good. read more

This location does not seem to have adjusted well to the new touch-screen ordering system and the demands of fulfilling delivery orders. Although the staff seem very busy and efficient, I get the sense that it is either not well organized or just too much for them to manage with the size of their space and number of employees. I waited twenty minutes here for an egg McMuffin and a coffee. Were they waiting for the bird to lay the egg? Once I got it, it tasted just like an egg McMuffin anywhere else, which I guess is a positive. But don't come here if you're in a hurry: nothing good will come of it. read more

Normally I wouldn't review a McDonald's, however, this location - which may be the worst - has recently gotten an upgrade. Like many McDonald's in the area, they now have automated machines, so you can avoid the pesky employees. Now don't get me wrong. Not all of them are bad. Some are actually quite good. However, these machines are a godsend. Now every McDonald'a in the city is as convenient as the one on Granville st that has a great staff. (Seriously, the McDonald's staff on Granville st downtown are the best). Ironically while I was in the other day, some dude started talking to the worst person there (I'm not going to describe them as I don't want the jeopardize their job), and commented about how much better they are than a machine. Everyone needs to experience this McDonald's. My college buddies use to refer to this place as "the UBC after party." On Wednesday nights (after Pit nights) and on Fridays after 2am, it's an absolute gong show. For awhile, this was the only place students knew about at UBC that was opened past midnight for food. Now on certain days Pita Pit's opened until around 2am, and recently they opened a Fresh Slice so the crowd's toned down a bit. Like most people, I've been to many McDonald's in many places. But I can assure you, that no McDonald's I've been to can beat this McDonald's for people watching. I wish I had photos to show, but after 2am it starts becoming a McDonald's trash apocalypse - cups, bags, containers all over the place. Dudes passed out on tables, girls yacking in the bathroom, people getting smacked in the face with flying chicken McNuggets. Many beautiful (okay, sometimes regretful) relationships start here. What better way than over a sprite, McRib, and impending hangover to meet your next significant other, right? The food's what you'd expect. That's not the interesting part. What's cool is that with so many students from other cultures and countries, after a night of binge drinking we all get the munchies for McDonald's. Come late night Wednesdays and Fridays, the entertainment is phenomenal. You can't get this awesome of a show for the price of a McFlurry anywhere else. read more

Slow, they constantly screw up my order. Since they started delivering its gotten much worse. Always get the sauces wrong, even the individual one which are paid for. Food is cold, half the time they put your order with the delivery order and you end up waiting an extra 10 + min. Overall if a McDonald's could go out of business, this one deserves it read more

Maybe I came during a shift change but there was only the manager at the till complaining to the back where the other front counter person was. I had to wait longer than 4 minutes to get my McDouble and Junior McChicken and small root beer. McDonalds is super consistent usually and this was the most disorganized McDonalds I've been in. They also have no ice cream at this McDonalds, only Milk Shakes. But it's the only McDonalds on campus and it still taste like McDonalds. So 3 Stars it is! read more

Come here after every exam or you fail miserably. I jinxed it. You have been warned!!!!!! I quite enjoyed coming here after exams with friends just to relieve stress and cheer up. Also came here at around 4 am when it was raining and snowing in the winter... way back in first year :) good times. Realized that it's mcdonald's, open 24 hours, and on campus. Don't expect service. Like seriously. If a worker drops a burger on the floor, it's your job to pick it up or that one hobo sitting near you will snatch your food away. And you'd still have to pay for it anyway. It's that bad. But who cares, it's mcdonald's. An extra star awarded for being a great place for kids to learn to study harder. Great real-life, visual, practical examples of hobos and future career paths as a mcdonald's employee. read more

Probably the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. They get my order wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Went in for lunch. half full. Get food. Empty table has a hand written reserved sign. No one around. Sit and eat. Five minutes later, a couple employees and management types come out of the kitchen and see me sitting at their table. They say that's OK, go talk somewhere else, come back when the next table opens. A few minutes later, A guy comes over and takes the reserved sign off my table saying, "We had this table reserved". "Good luck with that", I replied. "What?" "Good try reserving a table at a McDonald's. Especially here, with all the students and homeless, a sign's not going to do it." "I'm the owner, John. Just so you know." "Just so I know what?" "We had it reserved." I ask his name again and let him know I was just about to tweet about the reservation. "Go ahead." I've contacted them before about the manager who seems to always yell at people but now I see poor customer service runs through management and ownership. If you want to reserve a table, do what normal customers do and put a book there or a drink. If you're management or the owner, write a proper sign that says, "Sorry for the inconvenience. reserved for management meeting". Basically don't expect an empty table to stay empty at lunchtime. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! I was the only one in line waiting to order and there were only 2 orders on the screen. There were about 8 employees working and 2 workers near the front, and none of them even acknowledged me. I stood right in front of the counter for over 5 minutes waiting to order during a slow time and I received no service. The workers at the front were just doing things to make themselves look busy, like taking out paper bags and refilling straws. I guess they don't understand customer service. Don't bother dealing with the workers there or attempting to order with them, just go to the machine. read more

I live on UBC campus and have ordered McDelivery from this McDonalds 2 times now. My first experience with this McDonald's delivery was when I ordered breakfast. I ordered an Egg McMuffin, an Egg Scrambler Wrap Double Double Coffee, and an Iced Frappe. The meal took 30 minutes to get here and once it was delivered, the Frappe was melted, the Wrap was not wrapped properly and had exploded so I wasn't able to eat it, my egg McMuffin was cold and looked smaller in proportion to what I have gotten every other time I have ordered it, and my coffee had spilled in the bag and was dripping out of the bottom of the bag (this was more so the deliverer's fault, but I still wasn't too happy when everything else I ordered was in bad condition). My second time ordering it, I was very drunk. And normally drunk people don't care too much about what their food taste's like but this food was just so off I even noticed it. I ordered just 2 medium fries and a hot fudge sundae. I'm not too sure what happened, but when I placed the order it said it would be delivered in 15 minutes. Then it jumped to 22 minutes. Then it was finally delivered after 27 minutes. The fries came unsalted and cold, and my Sundae was completely melted and even was dripping over the sides of the cup and made a huge mess everywhere. I understand that its ice cream and in the delivery process it would melt a bit and that my fries wouldn't be boiling hot, but my Sundae was COMPLETELY melted and was straight liquid, and the fries tasted like that had been sitting on a counter for the 27 minutes that it took to be delivered. Each time I visit this location, the experience ends up negative. Yes, McD's are busy and that's not a problem. I patiently wait and negotiate the lines/crowds. However, the passive aggressive staff at this location blows me away. On rainy days, the floor is wet. Yup, I recognize it's a liability issue. However, during the lunch rush, the mop comes out and she's mopping over customer's feet and hitting my shoes. Really?!?!?!?! Then there is the waiting time for the food. The kitchen staff is doing it's job and burgers are being pumped out. However, they end up sitting in exit chute in full view, not being served while the order monitor is filling up with backed up orders that haven't been given to their hungry customers. First visit here and last visit. What a disappointing experience. I ate here when lunch menu was being served. Ordered big mac, quarter pounder, fries and a drink for me and a buddy. My big mac had lettuce that was obviously not fresh- wilted and brown. There was more wilted lettuce piled up on my big mac than the burger itself. My buddy's quarter pounder looked ugly (like they flopped the burger twice, ran out of ketchup and just added half a slice of a pickle and just plopped everything together). The fries- not the crispy, golden version. Oh no, we got the soggy, not cooked enough version. The drink- went to the fountain hoping at least something worth my money- nope, the coke dispenser just dispensed a clear stream that looked like water. And the bathroom? If only you saw the state of the men's toilet. Guess what was evident in that clogged, stuck toilet that the employee couldn't care less about. The cherry on top? Seeing fleas on the wall. I threw my food away as I questioned the sanitary practices that crew followed. I love McDonald's for a quick bite, and usually the food is great (at other McDonald's that is!).- but this one?
