New chicken sandwich

Looking for a decent MCD? This is location is better than decent, it's actually good! Bonus?!? This location is open 24 hrs! Can't help myself... this is nostalgia. I absolutely love their breakfast sandwich and yes I have a favorite item. It's always the sausage McMuffin without egg and a hash brown smashed in between. That's the only way I like it and it's delicious! They have the freshest fries here! The worst is when you are craving MCD fries and they're cold, soggy and just suck! I haven't been disappointed here yet. It's not a huge MCD. Very clean inside. Kiosk ordering. Staff is friendly. Yes there was another reason for visiting. The Happy meal and the tiny toy! Literally the smallest fries ever come in a happy meal! Recently they had Hello Kitty x TMNT! OMG, they're so cute! 2025: 49

This is a large fry. That's all I have to say

It get a five star for location and for how clean it always is. I also always end up having a nice convo with one of the customers every time I go. But for food and to a certain extent the staff... they are just okay. The burger is always slapped together. The fries are slightly over salted. The service is to the point and never delivered with a smile. There are kiosks to order and the mobile app which means you basically never talk to anyone. It gets a 2 star overall because it's never great but it's food and it fills the hole in my belly.

This is a sausage, egg and cheese bagel

This place is one of the top 5 best sandwich shops in San Diego hands down. They also serve salads,…read moresoups, and some awesome sides. I heard they're going to start serving beer and wine soon as well! *Best 1st-timer options*: The Keeper (if you like it spicy) or the L.G.B.T. My favorite hot sandwiches are the Cali Cubano, B3, and The Keeper, while my favorite cold sandwiches are the Avocado Highway, L.G.B.T. (lettuce, gouda, bacon, tomato), and Caprese. My favorite salads are the Grapevine and Duck Cranberry. For sides I recommend the potato salad and tomato basil bisque. The aioli they use is to die for -- can't hurt to get a side of it with any sandwich! The restaurant is situated on the corner of Park Blvd. and Polk Ave. (more generally, it's on the strip of Park Blvd. between University Ave. and El Cajon Blvd.). There is usually a good amount of parking on Park Blvd. and Polk Ave., which is nice. The space has a simple-yet-tasteful modern design and interior, is always clean, with friendly and helpful staff. Great for lunch hour or a weekend date. Update: Came back today with my friend and we ordered the B3 and the Turkey & Cheddar Mousse sandwiches, plus sides of potato salad and cucumber salad, and a double chocolate cookie with pistachio and sea salt. Everything was really good, but the Turkey & Cheddar Mousse sandwich was the star of the show. The cookie was great too. We both agreed the potato salad could use some salt, but besides that it was a solid meal all around.

On the first visit, Zack provided exceptional care and attention while helping navigate food allergies. Zack took the time to carefully check ingredients, double-check preparations, and personally come back out to verify everything to ensure safety. That level of care made the experience feel genuinely welcoming and stress-free. The chicken sandwich was fresh, satisfying, and thoughtfully balanced. Juicy chicken, ripe tomatoes, creamy avocado, and a bright splash of oil and vinegar came together beautifully on Big Front Door's roll, which had a great texture and held everything together well. The flavors were clean and vibrant. A little extra salt would have pushed it over the top for a salt-lover, but that came down to personal preference rather than any shortcoming. A dining companion ordered the avocado sandwich and could not stop raving about it, praising both the flavor and the freshness. The outdoor seating area deserves special mention. The shaded space was perfect as I do have sun allergies, especially for anyone who prefers relief from direct sun. The care taken in food preparation added an extra layer of comfort and trust. The second visit somehow raised the bar even higher. Micah went above and beyond to accommodate physical ability needs with patience, attentiveness, and genuine kindness. That effort did not go unnoticed and made the experience feel deeply respectful and inclusive. The roasted chicken sandwich ordered on the second visit was phenomenal. The roasted chicken was tender, savory, and full of depth, elevating the sandwich even further. Adding a bit of extra salt brought all the ingredients into perfect harmony, making every bite more satisfying than the last. This sandwich has officially earned a spot as a new favorite sandwich. Big Front Door was amazing not just for delicious, thoughtfully prepared food, but for the people who work there. Zack and Micah created an environment where care, kindness, and respect were clearly prioritized. No moment felt rushed, dismissive, or uncomfortable. At no point did anyone make the experience feel like a burden or inconvenience. A sincere thank-you also goes to the team members who prepared the food. Even without knowing names, the care taken to keep guests safer while serving delicious nourishment was evident and deeply appreciated. Big Front Door comes highly recommended for the flavorful sandwiches, the shaded outdoor space, the welcoming atmosphere, outstanding customer service, and the genuine kindness shown at every action.

We were seated in a shaded area with plenty of space around us, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and unhurried--perfect for actually enjoying good food and conversation. A huge part of what made our visit so memorable was our server, Carina. She struck that rare balance of being genuinely warm and personable while also staying incredibly attentive. She was outgoing without being overwhelming, kind in a way that felt natural, and had a great sense of humor that made us feel instantly at ease. Carina was also very knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful suggestions without any pressure. She checked in at just the right moments and made sure we had everything we needed, all while keeping the vibe light and fun. You can tell she really cares about creating a good experience, and it shows. For food, I ordered the smash burger with onions and lettuce served in a corn tortilla, along with a side of jicama. The burger itself was flavorful and satisfying, with flavorful juiciness you want from a smash burger. The onions added a nice savory depth, while the lettuce gave it a fresh crunch that balanced everything out. Serving it in a corn tortilla was a great twist--it made the whole dish feel a bit lighter while still being super filling, and added a subtle, warm corn flavor that tied everything together really well. The jicama on the side was crisp, refreshing, and slightly sweet--an ideal contrast to the richness of the burger. My friend went with a salad and an IPA, and both were a hit. The salad looked fresh and well put together, and they couldn't stop talking about how good it tasted. The IPA paired perfectly--cold, crisp, and exactly what you'd want alongside a light but flavorful meal. Overall, everything just worked--the food, the atmosphere, and especially the service. Carina really elevated the experience and made us feel taken care of in a way that's hard to come by. I'll definitely be back.

I ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions, and they did not put grilled onions in it. An In-N-Out burger without grilled onions is still great, but it's not spectacular. Grilled onions are a must. I came in and immediately the woman working in the front I could tell was rude and radiating negative energy. I am witnessing a common theme about this with many of the other people who have left negative reviews about this establishment. You guys also seem to reply and pretend like you resolve the issue but there have been multiple review follow-ups where people claim you guys do not actually make up for the horrible service. Anyway, I walk in and immediately I have to wait a long time to order and I can tell that the guy in front of me has been there a while already. Finally, I place my order and the lady is so awfully rude. Every answer I had for her questions made me feel that I had done something wrong even though I was very nice and just there for a simple thing: to get a sandwich. I usually greet people and ask how they are doing but she got directly to business. I understand that she was busy but she was immediately unwelcoming. "What kind of bread would you like?" (I do not see the bread on the menu when I immediately look up so I reply, "white (I will admit there are many different types of bread but I did not know what they have and usually when I order somewhere I just say white and they know what I am talking about or politely ask for clarification) *she rolls her eyes* "french, sourdough, Dutch?" Then, she asked me if I wanted lettuce and tomato. I replied, "just lettuce please" and again she makes me feel dumb for just ordering. I ask if the sandwich comes with mayonnaise because it was not listed but there were additional items on it and she says that they do not have mayonnaise but another sauce as if mayonnaise is a crazy request. "Can I get a name for the order?" "Jessica" "Jessica?" like my name is ugly or something and not like she could not hear me. At this point I am picking apart everything that she uttered but seriously such an unhappy woman with no hospitality skills. Trust me on this and either experience it yourself or read some other 1-star reviews if you do not believe me. She then walked away as I was still paying so I could not even ask for a receipt or anything. This was essentially the extent of my direct experience with the woman in the front but I witnessed more things happening to other customers while I was waiting for my sandwich for a really long time. Apparently an order kept getting rung up and people kept coming in trying to pick it up but it had already been picked up and the woman would say "communicate this. someone already picked it up" with a huge attitude like it was their fault there was a glitch in the system. I also took notice that there was a big order for 4:30 and when the order was finished, one of the male workers went over and served himself a drink from the soft drinks dispenser and when he was handing the woman all of the many bags, he took a break to take a drink out of his cup. I think it also important that I add she had already been given 5-6 bags and was caring a lot and he was not coughing and desperately needed water and I do not even think there was water in the cup. I will also say though that all of the customers waiting were very friendly and understanding that they were busy and I am too but there was no reason to be rude and lack the principles of basic costumer service. I work with people too and we all have bad days but by the looks of these other reviews, this is a very common occurrence. I am glad people are willing to speak up about this. Another thing I noticed was that apparently someone's order was not in the system and they made the person feel so bad for it and that it was their fault except with all of these problems, it is highly likely that this could have been the establishment's fault but they never even entertained this. I might also add that the woman that took my order when she was making sandwiches I saw her cough into her hands (no gloves mind you) and then grab the *at least it was* wrapped sandwich and put it in the bag. I wanted to try this place because it was close to my campus and I will say that the sandwich tasted good but it was nowhere near worth the horrible aura I experience while being at Ike's. I will surely never spend another dime at Ike's and encourage my friends to not support a business that does not prioritize cleanliness and kindness. Even when they packed up my order, the same man who was taking sip breaks handing a woman her order, was throwing my stuff together and gave me a tiny bag when he saw I was also holding my chips and drink. That was not very thoughtful if you ask me but I would not expect thoughtfulness after what I had already endured from this sandwich joint. I think Ike's would benefit from a personality change and should consider improving their warmth and helpful nature.

The vibe in the place was cool. Bustling and music blasting. I look around for the menu. Not easy to find. I guess it's one of those "if you know you know" but then I saw a small chalkboard that listed the burger and a tiny printout pizza menu way in the back. I order a burger and coke. So pumped to try it. I ask for no onions and the guy at the register immediately cops a huge attitude like I ruined his day. He points at the chalkboard and says "no substitutions". I reply "no biggie! I can scrape em off or something" dude looks pissed and says "they're hard to scrape off" I know reading this I may sound unreasonable. Maybe dude was having a bad day. But the way he was looking and speaking to me made me want to walk away from the counter not bother ordering. If you are great at burgers but not customer service maybe stay off the register and stick to the grill. My friend with me goes "not very friendly for a place called the friendly" so it wasn't just me. The burger comes out. Honestly I'd bet on a good day it's great. But today it wasn't. Overly greasy. Ironically all of the onions slid right off so I'm not sure why he feels it would be too difficult for me to remove myself. The burger could barely stay in the bun it was so greasy. The aioli spread was all on one side of the burger and it was a mess. I'm not sure if maybe this place used to be great and since has declined, or if the staff was just having such an off day that it reflected in the effort of the food. Or if the guy just had some issue and felt like taking it out on us today. But needless to say. There's plenty of amazing smash burger places in San Diego. Excited to try somewhere else.
