I have frequented various McDonald's locations over the years and have generally had positive experiences. However, my recent visits to the McDonald's situated at 2172 Sunset Blvd in Rocklin, CA, have left me rather disappointed. It's regrettable to say that this particular McDonald's has consistently failed to meet even the most basic standards of customer service.
During each of my five visits to this specific location within the past two weeks, I found myself waiting outside for an astonishingly long period of 5 to 10 minutes for a single hash brown. I should note that I order the same meal every time I visit, and yet, without fail, my order is never ready when I arrive. This consistent inconvenience has become a pattern that is, quite frankly, unacceptable.
One recent incident, in particular, stood out as a pinnacle of poor service. On this occasion, I arrived during my lunch break and informed the employee that I couldn't afford to wait outside as it would make me late for work. In response, I was promised a complimentary hash brown for my trouble. However, when the employee brought out my order, I noticed there was no additional hash brown.
Upon inquiry, the individual mentioned that he would speak to his manager, Caitlin, about the missing hash brown. What transpired next was deeply disheartening. Caitlin, the manager, emerged and exhibited an astonishing level of rudeness and indifference towards my predicament. She callously stated that she would not provide any compensation for the inconvenience I had experienced. I explained that at this point, I was already 15 minutes late for work, to which she simply shrugged her shoulders in a dismissive manner. Adding to the indignity, I observed Caitlin and a coworker sharing a laugh at my expense as they walked back into the building.
It's disheartening to report that my experience at this McDonald's has led me to question their commitment to customer satisfaction and the principles of empathy and compassion that should be fundamental qualities in a manager. As a young Black man, I can't help but wonder if I'm being treated differently in certain areas, and as a manager, Caitlin's lack of empathy and disregard for the concerns of customers is deeply concerning.
I hope McDonald's takes this incident into serious consideration when evaluating the qualities they seek in their management team. Unfortunately, my repeated unfavorable experiences at this location have compelled me to cease my patronage, despite being a loyal customer who spends over $400 a month at McDonald's. read more
