I don't normally write reviews for fast-food places--especially McDonald's--but this location absolutely deserves it. The McDonald's at **34101 Monterey Ave. in Rancho Mirage** is truly something special. The moment you walk in, it feels warm, inviting, and full of life. So many McDonald's today feel modern but cold and sterile--this one is the complete opposite. It's vibrant, colorful, and welcoming. From the bright, cheerful mural on the wall to the colorful lighting, it honestly feels like the McDonald's of yesterday--in the best possible way. What really sets this location apart is the people. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with genuine "hello," "welcome," and "good morning" from the staff. They were friendly, upbeat, and eager to help. **Jack, Adriana, and Christian were absolutely top-notch.** Jack went above and beyond--offering to get us anything we needed, delivering our meal to our table, and even asking if he could grab our sodas for us. He was also constantly cleaning and keeping the dining area spotless. Everything looked fantastic. Adriana greeted everyone with a warm smile and a truly welcoming presence. And then there's **Christian**, who completely blew me away. I watched him go from table to table checking on guests, asking if they were okay or needed anything. When he took orders out to cars and curbside, he carried a tray with extra sauces, napkins, and items *just in case* people needed them. That level of thoughtfulness and attention is incredibly rare--especially in fast food. Here's the moment that really sealed it for me: it was **10:33 a.m.**, and the menu had just switched to lunch. An older couple came in hoping to order breakfast. Most McDonald's wouldn't even hesitate to say no. Instead, Jack said, *"Let me go check."* He went to the back, confirmed they still had breakfast items available, and they happily made it for them anyway. This place feels different. It feels cared for. It feels human. Other McDonald's locations should absolutely observe how this team operates--this is the standard. I am unbelievably impressed. The service here truly blew me away, and I'm so glad we chose to eat inside. It reminded me of what McDonald's used to be, when people genuinely wanted to help. Highly, highly recommended. read more

Fries room temp. The one best thing about McDonald's... and they can't get it right. Tables messy. Nobody goes around and wipes down after guests leave. Ordered the chicken snack wraps, both spicy and regular. Dry and tasteless... both .. till I got to the end of the wrap, and ALL the sauce and flavor was pooled at one end. Disappointing. read more

Great service! Good food. Just had a double cheeseburger and fries.burger was good and fries were hot. The location is a basic McDonalds interior, it was nice e and clean. The service is where it gets great. I ordered on the app and picked up, but forgot to get big Mac sauce for my burger. I literally waited 13 minutes in the drive thru, they didn't apologize (or say anything), and my food seemed like it sat there for 13 minutes, too. I went to refill my drinks. The employee (some old lady with white hair) came to hover by me and tell me in a very condescending voice as if I were a school child to scold me. She was shaking her head as said "no, no." While shaking her finger at me. I asked her what she meant because she did not elaborate. She said "next time no." Still confused I asked her "I'm not allowed a refill?" She said no. I had my receipt. And I had just left but she said "not unless you eat it inside." There's no sign saying that we can't get refills or have to eat inside. Felt that was so rude and unnecessary. Really left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt targeted. Not even the manager who saw me says anything to me unless she sent her to tell me but didn't seem like it. It was very embarrassing. And very unprofessional. read more

No Ice Cream or Shakes. It's what McDonalds was built on. Guess nobody wants ice cream, during July, in the desert with 100 degree plus temperatures. What happened to this franchise? They can't afford a second ice cream or shake machine . They're always inconsistent and they don't train their employees properly. I can't remember the last time I went to a Mickey D's and our group was in need of some fast food so we stopped and it took some time to decide what we wanted. The individual at the register whose name was Heather guided us through the menu and even helped us save some money by asking if we had the McDonalds app which we did not. After I got the app entered into my phone and with her help I was able to save some money on our bill. Heather exuded great customer service and was very patient during the time we were there. I'm sure it might have been a different story if it was busier but overall we had a great experience. read more

In the current sociopolitical climate good food is hard to find. With this McDonald's the search continues. A forty minute wait time left a bad taste in my mouth before the subpar food even entered the conversation. While convenience and cost are king in this post capitalist modern world we often over look what's important. From a crowded parking lot to a meal that was unreasonably expensive it's no wonder that we are plummeting headfirst into a new recession. During the Great Recession of 2008, a recession so great we wouldn't need another one they said, I had the misfortune of two divorces and a rift in my family that cut so deep I need a boat to cross it to this day. It is hit or miss and mostly miss lately. They must have no manager on duty on weekends and now, during the week. The receipt I got had no ink and was illegible and I was made to pull out of the drive through line and wait for a sandwich...it was the wrong sandwich. I was overcharged $15.00 on my credit card and had to wait another time recently to have a staff member bring me a cash refund. They need to get it together!!! 1. It took 30 minutes to get through the drive thru line. This location is always slow. For one thing, they had the same person who was taking money for the orders, also taking the orders. So I had to wait to order, and to pay. 2. Ordered a bacon mcdouble w/o cheese or onions. I got a tiny bite of bacon and no pickles. 3. That and a medium soda was almost $8. What a rip off. Prices have gone up so that they can pay $18/hr. This location is consistently bad service and quality. Not that I like paying that price but at least the food and service could warrant it! read more

One of the worst drive through experiences ever. Whoever was working the drive through at 11pm on 9/27/24 does NOT deserve $20.00 an hour. Wife had to repeat order numerous times. Checked bag, she asked for ketchup and noticed there was only one of the two medium fries ordered. Worker just goes and hands her a medium fries no bag just hanging out the window. Then she said can I get some ketchup (2nd time) and he grabs a handful and just drops it in her hand letting packets fall to the ground. Then fries ended up being cold and had pickles in my Big Mac. Lately the past few times I have grabbed breakfast here before work, it has been terrible. Whenever I ask for a slight variation in my order, they continue to get it wrong. I always ask for no cheese in the sausage egg McGriddle, yet they usually leave it in. Other times when they have the order right it is cold as if it was just taken out of the fridge/freezer. The drive thru speakers are always cutting out, or has the wrong order on the screen. I am updating my review. The management of this store had dropped significantly from its friendly days to being rude and dismissive to special orders. The food is not good enough to also have poor customer service. Jared, a 16 year old snob treats customers as if he is being annoyed and inconvenienced by asking questions. I know you are making minimum wage but you will never go anywhere until you learn to treat people with respect - please management, spend some time with your employees training them. -------- Earlier review- Best thing on the menu: $1+ hot fudge sundae. Went here for lunch about two weeks ago. Ordered the Fish Sandwich, with Cheese on the side. ***I like the Cheese not to be totally melted. So, the pic shows the first cheese order on the bottom of the photo. Staff said, that's the instructions per Mc Donalds Corporate, ONLY half a slice of American cheese to be given on the Fish sandwiches. So when I asked for an EXTRA cheese slice, I was given the Other Half!! *** FYI, I had noticed this about 4 years ago, at other locations also But I guess no one else cares. ** American cheese is the least expensive to buy, as we know.
