My boyfriend asked if I wanted Sonic or McDonalds because these are the only fast food choices around us. We're never very happy with this McDonalds but I do like McDonalds as a whole. Well, we order three Happy Meals and the first window employee says, "All you'll get is extra fries because we don't have apple slices or the gogurt tonight" Well we thought that strange that we are stuck when one choice at their fault. We asked if they could so a pie and she said "Let me ask" she took a second and said "If we do a pie it'll have to be for the fries and apples so its probably better to just get extra fries" My boyfriend looked at me and I said "That's fine because the kids will eat a pie; they don't really eat the fries" He told her that's fine and she seemed confused and said "That means you'll only get a pie and no fries" we told her again that's fine. We went on to order our meals and she butted in saying "Ok, you guys will get the fries now" so we looked at each other like "Oh cool". We paid at the first window, no problems, came to the second window and the young lady handed us the happy meals. I checked them and said "They said we were getting the fries?" when the lady came back to the window she handed us our large bag of food and mumble "Have a nice day." and walked away. We got her attention and said "The fries arent in here" She responded with a blank face "They said they were doing pies" I said "Yeah then she told us we'd still get the fries." she responded with an attitude and sigh "I'll ask" and left. Michael, the manager, came to the window immediately waving his arms saying "No, no I cannot do that, if you have a pie you don't get fries. Him and my boyfriend argued for a minute and after Michael said "I told her you couldn't have fries if we do a pie." Finally Michael heard what I was saying "That's what she said at first, then she said "Okay you guys are getting the fries"", Michael stopped for a second and started handing us our food back and said "ok.. put his hands up, and said I'll get you the fries" This all being said I understand people lie to get free food etc. so I understand the frustration. However, such a fuss over a dollar worth of fries? I believe the manager should have already had a substitution planned out and told everyone that they can offer cookies as a substitute. That would have been acceptable. But we were automatically told "All you get is fries" and it went down hill from there. Besides the way we were treated, the company should be at loss and willing to give something of greater value before they are willing to jip the customer. read more
