This is one of the best McDonalds' I've ever been to. Very clean and the service is fast. I always opt for curbside pickup and it takes anywhere from 5-10 minutes. I usually just get a 10 pc chicken nuggets and fries. Fries are almost always hot. Pair that with the ranch and buffalo combo and you're rolling. The only difference I notice is at this location the nuggets are a bit crispier. read more

The food always comes out good the last times I've been there. The parking is a good amount. I do wish there was a drive-through, but they're sadly isn't the curbside pick up orders they could do better in the way of people just park there to just go in when they shouldn't, I've seen three cars with no one in them depending on when you order food it can take a while or not. Been to this location a few times over the past month. I'm not sure what they're doing differently but the food tastes way worse than your average McDonalds. Like somehow they manage to make standardized hamburger and chicken patties taste worse than every other McDonalds restaurant. There are so many rats in the trash cans in the parking lot, have you seen these insatiable furballs? Cute from far away but these guys are carrions of disease and tell a story of the surrounding area. They become more brave in the evening. Not good for Newton, but I still eat here occasionally because it's such a convenient outlet. It's great your look got an overhaul, let the actual hygiene reflect that. read more

Just received a delivery from this McDonald's, and they did everything right! Door Dash delivered promptly, too. But it was 6:30am when I was up early & ordered online. They included everything requested: pepper packets, ketchup, etc; made my coffee perfectly & even included napkins! Food was still warm & bag had 3 large stickers sealing the top for safety so it couldn't be tampered with en route. I've never left a fast food review, but this location is doing something right. I should have listened to the part of my brain that said "no, don't do it" but I was starving after being in the car for 8 hours, and that is often how food mistakes happen. First, I should backtrack: way "back in the day", Needham St was not the way it is now. You could drive down it without screaming out loud (at least 3x) at the driver who just cut you off, honking at someone else and giving the finger to someone; it was just a place to drive down and the McD's at that time was actually decent. Remember, that was "back in the day". Fast forward to now and once you are all riled up by traffic and just want your food fast and hot, you wind up here; be prepared to get even more annoyed. First you will find their new ordering kiosks; for the love of God, I just want to order two things, not feel as though I am trying to decipher a Powerpoint presentation that there will be a quiz on later. I had also just seen something on a morning news show about how these kiosk screens have all sorts of germs on them, so immediately after ordering I went to the ladies room to scrub my hands of everything. Note that I am not a germaphobe, but just search online for the details of what was found on these screens. Ordered two things to-go, watched with a mix of amusement/annoyance as they were put on a tray, and then the guy reached for a bag. Thankfully I thought to look in the bag before getting onto Needham St because only ONE item was in the bag. Quickly parked, back inside I went and waited behind a couple of people looking annoyed as well. My burger was buried under some bags and they gave it to me instead of a new one; wish I had thought to ask for a new one since it was lukewarm and kind of mushed. This location is on my list of "never to return" and my memories of this place will be filed away in the Back in the Day category. read more

The new ordering system is worse than getting your teeth pulled. It's frustrating for both the customer and employee and makes the overall experience from positive to very negative exceptionally quickly. I hope they figure out a solution to the new system as there "fast casual" concept is painful to be a part of and hope that they fix this for the sake of the employee and consumer. read more

BURGER SCORE: 2 "Based on the Big Mac" It's McDonald's! In my personal opinion McDonald's has slipped big time. I know with the rising cost of living I get it. But McDonald's has always been an affordable place to eat. Not so these days. I have seen Combo meals go for as high as $12 Good lord! and can anyone tell me why on the dollar menu nothing on it is a Dollar. This particular McDonald's location has been completely renovated and rebuilt in the last 5 years. and very sadly gone are most traces of the old style classic McDonald's It's now a sheik modern Cafe McDonald's "Come On" if I wanted to go to a Cafe I would go to Starbuck's. What really made me angry about this McDonald's is that. I'm a Wheelchair user and if you want to go to this McDonald's Good Luck. There is no Power Doors and the Entrances are to close to the walk ways. it is very difficult to navigate a Wheelchair. Important if you use a wheelchair you will need to bring help with you to get into this McDonald's. I now refuse to go to this location because of this issue. I reported this to McDonald's HQ. Other than breakfast, this was my second time eating at McDonalds in like 10 years. I was hungry, had 10 minutes to kill, and needed to use a bathroom so figured I'd try the spicy chicken sandwich which would allow me to resolve all of the aforementioned issues. Sandwich was good and made fresh, but more importantly the staff were nice, service was efficient and the bathroom was clean. I went here for a lunch break with a few of my coworkers. It was pretty busy considering it was lunch time but we were able to get our food within a very timely manner. What I appreciated most is the fast and easy electronic ordering stands. This made it possible for those who knew what they wanted to go to the cashier and order quick and for those who needed more time like myself to browse time to sift through the menu and choose what they want. You can still access all the deals and discounts which is still awesome. I was able to order my food there and pay and have them deliver it to my table. The food cake within 5 minutes and it was great. I asked for no pickles and onions on my burger and they were able to accommodate that with no issues. Overall a great experiences and very polite workers as well. If you're looking for s quick bite to eat right off of I-95, this is the place to be! read more

Just horrible experiences at this location. We've been here multiple occasions and each time there's problems. - employees are rude. Rush you when making your order and keeps saying yeah yeah I got it but when you get ur order it's all wrong. - their nuggets. Not sure why but this location makes it extremely dark and rubbery. Probably one of the worst McDonald's in the state. I know the iced coffee is cheap compared to Dunkin or Starbucks but gosh it was fcuking horrible. Tasted like sweet cream with ice, can't taste any coffee at all. I think the staff needs to go through some basic training. I expected this to be like any other McDonalds's visit-in and out, basic service and I'd be on my way. I was surprised when I saw the self order kiosks. I hadn't used this at any other location yet and it seemed really user friendly. When they called my number, the order was completely wrong-on a tray instead of to go, completely wrong food and the lady called the number then walked away. I waited until she returned and before I had a chance to say something, she said "I called your number forever ago." I went on to explain that yes, I know that, but this wasn't what I ordered and handed her my receipt. She responded with something along the lines of "Well, (another coworker) put your order together, not me." Ok? I don't care who did and I'm not mad, just kindly give my my order and I'll be on my way. Two people talked back and forth before throwing my actual order on a tray (which was only a sandwich and 2 hash browns). The Manager was standing there so I apologized (not sure why) and said my order was to go and asked for a bag. He said nothing, threw it in a bag and handed it to me. There was zero acknowledgement of the error, zero empathy and a huge attitude and lots of placing blame. It takes nothing to say "Sorry about that!" And hand me my correct order. I could care less if someone makes a mistake but the disrespect was enough that I will never go to this location again. read more

I don't know wether it's the fact that they can't be bothered to make the food in its entirety or that they don't understand their own menu but it's pretty ridiculous at this point. There's space literally for you to drive around the building for parking but no drive thru is available, such a disappointment. The staff here are very helpful. Not all are always friendly, which can be the case everywhere...but for more fast food restaurants I've been to, the staff is much more friendly than most. This McDonalds would love to have a drive-thru, the city of Newton won't allow it. They had a petition a year and a half ago for Newton residents to try and get a drive thru allowed. I have no idea how it turned out, but as of 3/14/12, they are closed for remodeling. Maybe the city caved in, but given the stuck up nature of Newton, I doubt it. So, don't put blame on the restaurant or MCDonalds for not offering a drive thru, it's out of their hands. read more

I'm not a huge fast food fan - maybe eating it four times a year - but I can even tell that this McDonald's isn't a very good one. Half the time I've been there to get my fiance dinner, the soda fountain doesn't work, the fries aren't crispy, and the staff speaks so quietly I'm not sure if they have all of my order down correctly. Also had to take away a star for not having a drive-thru. We Americans are lazy! We want a drive-thru, and this is probably the first and only McDonald's I've ever been to that didn't have one! read more
