I decided to write a review today because it's the FIRST time I didn't have to pull over and wait for my order. I'm big on the McDonalds app, if you don't have it-get it! So easy and great deals! Anyway, used the app-got to the speaker and gave by order #. Wasn't long and got the order. Missing a bbq sauce which is why off a star. Otherwise, totally on it today and I got everything else. Waited patiently for food but 20 mins later, that's unacceptable, I made an inside dining order on kiosk put in my table number and then I asked the worker "Excuse me, I haven't received my order" Her: oh we're waiting for your pies Me: but what about my food Her: now she's annoyed and turns into the Rude Girl, rushes around, finally puts food on tray minus pies, puts the tray on the pickup counter and yells out table number walks away & out of my view Me: observing all this and I KNOW she is suppose to deliver the tray to my table, I sit & wait til she's in my view then again, I see her & "Excuse Me" you are suppose to bring my order to my table, inside dining. Her: Attitude, grabs tray and puts on table, turns and walks away. Being a frequent "Yelper", I normally do not review or rate fast food restaurants. But, because I have experienced a (no dramatizing) 50%+ failure rate with (just) this California Oaks Murrieta McDonalds, I wanted to see if I was the only one. I myself have found nearly all other McDonald's locations to be fairly consistent and positive - this location is definitely an exception. Having frequented this location for several years, ONLY because it is literally right around the corner, I feel I am able to judge them fairly... I guess I should not have been too shocked when seeing what others on Yelp have said about this location - many, many others have also experienced what I have and have had - unpleasant experiences. With so many bad reviews over a long period of time, I am surprised corporate Mc'D's has not seen this and taken action to remove this "blemish" on their reputation... Issues I and my family have experienced (but not limited to): Severely long drive thru wait times, receiving the wrong order, receiving a deficient order, having "special orders" ignored or completed wrong (we ordered a Big Mac with NO "Mac Sauce," instead, we came home to a Big Mac with NOTHING on it EXCEPT the "Mac Sauce," and in general, employees who do not really seem to care about customer service. Why do I keep coming here? Like mentioned before, this location is literally just a couple blocks away, however, when I am not in a rush, I will always try to seek out another franchise that will likely perform better than this one (which is not too hard to do)... read more

Before I started my review, I looked over the reviews here on Yelp and found common themes from all the reviewers who have reviewed this location that were also in my family order today. Today I placed an order for breakfast through the McDonald's app for delivery, because while this location is close to where I live, I have come to detest going to this particular location for two reasons: 1. 3 out of 4 times, they either messed up my order or forgot something I ordered. 2. Even at non-busy times, including busy times, after placing my order, going to the first window to pay, and then driving up to the second am handed a yellow post-it note asked to please go park and wait while they bring my food out to me. This particular one annoys me the most because it defeats the whole concept of "fast food"...I have a pretty good idea why this is, which I will touch on shortly. After our food arrived, I opened the bag and saw that my son's breakfast was not there and at that point, I grabbed the bag and drove to the location because this was the third time when placing an order for delivery that they forgot an item that was ordered. When I went inside, I walked up to the counter and asked to speak to the manager...let me be clear that while I was annoyed and a bit frustrated, I wasn't yelling, or screaming...my tone was polite but firm. As soon as a few of the crew members on the other side of the counter heard what I said, they had the "uh oh" look. Instead of a manager (who I know wears blue or white button-up shirts), I get this young kid who comes up to the counter with a blank look on his face. I explained to him what happened, how this was the third time this happened to a delivery order and then also the issues with the post-it notes through the drive-through and asked a simple question, "What's going on here??". I don't get my question answered, instead he directs them to get me my son's order. While I am waiting, I am telling him, I get it that it's not all you here and there are some obvious failures in process and accountability. Then some lady waiting to the side, tries to make it political by saying something along the lines of it being about Democrats and how they need to lower the pay, this is about the $20 an hour minimum for fast food workers that was passed within the last year. I look at her and tell her she has some points because the way that law, and the timing of it, was passed has done more harm than good, and then turn right back and tell this kid that yes the politicians have screwed you and your fellow workers but at this location, your management and ownership have failed you too because they aren't holding you to standards and even doing something as doing a double check (which doesn't cost a thing and shows you care about customer service), I mentioned that as a Marine Corps vet, this was something I had drilled into me...but was also a basic life tenement; of course, this kid still stands there looking at me like a checked out look in his face. I know right there that this isn't the first time this kid has had this type of conversation there, that it was probably one that happened regularly, and that he knew that I was right but what was he supposed to do about it? As soon as I said that, I was a bit louder when I said that I knew his management and ownership had failed him and his coworkers, and who comes up then...the manager...wearing her blue button-up shirt...that part just disgusted me...how are you going to let your subordinate take the brunt of a dissatisfied customer when it is YOUR job to be working it out???!!! I looked at her hard for a few seconds and then looked over to the kid, and wished him luck because he needed it. I will NEVER go to this location again or have anything delivered from there, because while I understand that law that was passed screwed the fast food industry over (especially the workers because while I believe you should be able to make a liveable wage, the provisions and the way that law was passed screwed them over), it's obvious that everyone, including management at this location, has checked out mentally and are barely going through the motions...and if a business cannot ensure that a customer gets what they order regularly, then why should I give it my patronage?? To the ownership...if this is the way you own and operate your business, you should sell it (it is a franchise location), take the money, and do something leaving someone in place who might care to make the business better. read more

I downloaded Yelp just so I could write a review. I get they can be busy or have new workers. Though how many times do you have to forget online orders? They have a tag with what should be in the bag but somehow people forget to double check before sealing it for delivery. I just ordered two large shakes and only got one (not the first time they got something wrong). The delivery service can be just as bad sometimes too when they give you the wrong thing if they took two orders on separate apps. read more

I just had a very unfortunate experience at this McDonald's location. My wife used the app to order and I arrived and parked in Curbside 1 slot for pick-up. After waiting about 15 minutes, I walked inside to check the status of my order. The confirmation says, "You're at 40605 California Oaks Road, Your order is almost ready." And I saw the credit card transaction come through on my Visa for $32.81 charged by McDonald's. But the staff (Melissa & Isabel) were saying that they did not receive the order, and it is because my wife's phone is not currently there with me. Now, that may very well be the case. I don't really understand how that would make a difference, but whatever I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because it is your app. Regardless of this, a customer is now showing you the order confirmation (with the correct McDonald's address) and showing you the completed Visa transaction (that I paid for the food). So this is obviously not a situation where a customer is trying to scam you out of a meal. This is a situation where an adult needs to step up and find a solution. Melissa & Isabel were lackadaisical at best. At worst, they were downright useless. I understand that they are "Supervisors," but honestly my 8-yr-old could have arrived at a viable solution to this problem more quickly. When a customer shows you that they have paid, and shows you the order confirmation (with your McDonald's address), you just need to give them the d@mn food. Instead, I was told that there is nothing they can do because they don't have an order. So yeah. I left with a charge on my Visa and no food. And a reminder as to why I do not EVER eat at McDonald's. This McDonald's is absolutely horrible. Every time I've ordered DoorDash from here, they leave out items or make them incorrectly, assuming there's really not much anyone can do about it. Their workers pay no attention to what they're doing, don't care about getting things wrong or upsetting with their customers, and I honestly can't understand how this location stays in business seeing as most of the reviews say the same thing. If you can avoid this, McDonald's, do so at all costs. If I can give this McDonald's a NEGATIVE 999 BILLION STARS I would. I have never been this aggravated before at a McDonald's. I used their "app" and opted for "curbside pickup". I park at spot #4 and submit the order at 5:44 pm. It says "We'll see you at spot #4 in a few minutes". 10 minutes goes by.... nothing. I see a sign that says lobby is closed and there is a guy waiting at the lobby. I asked him if he worked there, he said no and that he had an interview. So when they opened the door for the interviewee, he told them I had been waiting 15 minutes at spot #4. They told him to tell me that they're not doing curbside and that I should go to the drive through (are you f**** kidding me!!!!!).... so basically if the interviewee wasn't there, none of these LAZY A** MF would've come outside to let me know that!?!?! Ok, so I go to the drive thru and they ask me for a code?!?!?! I told them I was the one parked at spot #4 for the last 15 minutes... the dumb s**** at the speaker says "we still need a code" so I told her I don't have it and that it's my 1st time using the app. She does not respond... after 5 minutes I'm like "hellooooo..... are you still there?" She says "I'm here I'm still waiting for your code" at this point I was boiling already. I told her I don't have it or she can show me how tf to use it if I go to the window. Then she says ok. I get to the 1st window and she says "you're good, go to the 2nd window, your food's over there". I get to the 2nd window where they give me cold soggy nuggets and a soggy big Mac. By the time I'd gotten my food it was 6:15 pm so this whole BS took 31 minutes and all bc incompetent lazy workers couldn't come outside to tell me that they weren't doing curbside. Wtf!! I did not wanna have to go back and complain about it bc I was already 15 mins late picking up my son so I figured I'll just Yelp about it. This McDonald's is extremely horrible!! Their customer care is atrocious and lacks in ALL aspects. Went for breakfast and ordered 2 sausage McGriddles and 2 hash-browns. I got my order and drove home like one normally does. I get home and see that I have no hash-browns and 2 egg McMuffins. I drive back and explain that I received the wrong order and pull up to the drive through window as instructed. The lady working the drive through window hands me the correct order and then rolls her eyes and I was confused. She then asks if I have the old order and I said yes along with the receipt.
