It's best not to come to this Mcdonald's past 8 pm. Many times i have gone and my online order is incorrect. Today I ordered a large fry and received a medium which would not be a big deal if the person working the drive though didn't hand me my bag and proceeded to ignore me when i tried to ask for what i paid for. I also discovered when I got home I only received 9 nuggets instead of 10. This is the worst place ever! I sat in the drive thru after waiting for my order to taken from 9:32 pm to 9:44 pm waiting for a Big Mac with no lettuce extra Mac sauce. After driving 15 minutes home found out I had a Big Mac with lettuce and no extra Mac sauce,called the number on the receipt,no answer after two minutes the first time,second time I got a very rude person who informed me they have a new cook and he doesn't know what he is doing,okay I respond but can he read a ticket ? Ma'am he can read but he doesn't know what he is doing and she hung up! Ridiculous! I just went to this McDonald's after finishing my finals to treat myself to some breakfast this morning. I got an egg McMuffin meal with a frappe. The manager called me cheap because i got a side of mac sauce. And i know this guy! The bathroom are always digustting! Trash gets taken maybe 2x a week... toilets haven't seen a toilet brush in forever! Ive talked to shell side and they blame Mcdonalds! Visa versa! When you order a meal, it generally comes with fries and a drink. Well apparently that's not how it works here. I ordered a number 7 and a number 2. Number 7 is 10 nuggets, number 2 is two cheeseburgers. When I got to the window, the drinks were wrong. That should have tipped me off, but they fixed it with no issue so I let it go. And then they handed me the bag, the contents of which included just the nuggets and ONE cheeseburger. Confused, I asked the employee where the fries and the other cheeseburger were. She looked at me like I was some sort of idiot and told me that I didn't order fries. In what bizzaro McDonald's universe do fries not come when you order a meal? Anyway, after a few moments of blank staring from the employee, she said she'd get the fries. She came back in a couple minutes with a second bag. I took it, and went home, only to find ONE container of cold fries. No second cheeseburger, no second fries. I guess I should expect this from McDonald's. I don't think they've gotten an order right for me at this location one time. I am all for increasing minimum wage, but experiences like this one make me hope that if and when that happens, they at least hire some halfway competent employees. This place was a disappointment. I could tell that the fryer had not been cleaned, for my fries came out a very dark color with black fryer bits attached. In addition, the drinks had a strange taste. I think 50% of the time I try to visit this McDonald's I go through the drive-through and what I want is not available or the credit card machine is down or something, and because of the way the drive-through structured you just have to keep in the line and you can't back out and just wait on the people that are actually ordering some food. * First off, a FYI: there is NO play place. This is designed with university students in mind. * The quality of any place I ever visit rests (almost entirely) on the state of the bathroom. A nice lunch, dinner or whatever can be completely ruined by a visit to a filthy and disgusting bathroom. So for this McD's, it's a fail. The bathrooms are filthy half of the time, the doors have a HUGE gap in them so everyone can peek at you while you go and you have to set your purse on their nasty floor (if you don't have a good shoulder strap) because there is no hook. All together now: YUCK! * Moving on to the employees. I will say that all of them are very nice, even if some are weird or clueless. I like (most) of the people who work there, but management seems a bit too rough. One day it was pouring down rain and she was screaming at all them tell them to get it together because she knew they didn't want to take bags out to the cars. I looked carefully at all their faces and none seemed happy. One guy, who I thought was rather heroic, said, "I'll go out there!" lol! Anything, I suppose, so long as they could slow down to make sure the orders were right. Anyway, the point is that management doesn't appear to really care. They will always have a lot of patrons because University of South Alabama is right next door and there is little choice of another place like McD's (there are fast food restaurants on campus, but they don't have a dollar menu like McD's). * Now about those weird employees... The best example is how one employee was in the bathroom talking on her cell - with the freaking speaker phone on - and it was a man! Just what I needed, some strange man hearing me do my business!!! I couldn't believe it. I've heard people talking on the phone while on the toilet, which is weird enough, but on a speaker phone?! The guy didn't seem surprised at all to hear everyone in the bathroom going and flushing toilets. I could hear him as clear as a bell! * About those clueless employees... Sometimes one doesn't even know their own menu items. For example, I went to have lunch with my son who goes to college nearby. He wanted a 2-McRib combo meal. When I heard the total, I realized she was charging me for two McRib combo meals... meaning plural. This was not right. A HUGE sign hanging on the window said a 2-McRib combo meal (all in one meal) was half that price. I told her this is a 2-McRib meal, not 2 McRib mealsssss. Looking at her face you could clearly see that this did not compute. She even went so far as to say that there is no such menu item. I pointed to the sign, which clearly said it does exist. Her face was still blank and she denied it. Finally I asked her to get a manager who came and seemed surprised that the girl had no idea what we were talking about. Maybe she was new, but what new girl is so sure about a menu that she says there is no such menu item??? * About the food; let me just say that of all the times I've gone there, I've yet to get something hot and fresh. Most of the time, it's very stale. One time the bread on my chicken sandwich was so stale that I could barely bit into it. After hearing the manager that rainy day, I have come to believe that this is probably because they are forced to make a bunch in advance to as to avoid a wait. I guess it boils down to if you want it really fast so you can get to class on time, or really fresh where you may have to wait. It's sort of a catch-22. * Comfort? I don't know who designed those seats, but it's clear that they were designed so that you'll never EVER want to go back there again. Most have no backs on them and the few that do have backs have absolutely no cushioning on it whatsoever. Other McDonald's restaurants have cushioning, so why did this one elect not to? * The free Wifi stinks. It's often very slow and I've been disconnected more times than I care to mention. I love it when restaurants (or any place) advertises how they have "FREE WIFI" but they forget to add that is SUCKS. I'd love for them to be honest, just once. I guess if you're getting it for free, you should probably be happy. It's just that if you're going to offer it, why not offer a good one? * Final assessment: all in all, worst McD's I've seen in a long time. That's too bad really. /review read more

There were 3 people in the drive thru line at 11:30 at night.. beyond pathetic at how slow and rude they are. Our order is constantly wrong yet we pay $7 for a meal.. something isn't write. I am always amazed by one particular employee... LINNEA! She is always welcoming and friendly, efficient and courteous. I work for the university down the street, stop frequently for coffee and a meal. She makes sure the coffee is fresh, the cup filled to the right level, and treats me like she is glad for my business. There are 12 of us in our office and we all frequent McD's on Old Shell and return because of LINNEA. Not everyone can have that said about them. read more

Every time I go here, I am disappointed. The staff never greets me or says thank you. The restaurant is always dirty, especially the floors. I went today at 1 pm to order a caramel frappe'. No one was even taking orders at the main counter and the drive through was not backed up either. When someone finally came to the register to take my order, I asked for the large caramel frappe and she said "we only have mocha"! Needless to say, I left.
