We typically stop here once on the way up to the lake and once on the way back, each year. This time, the service was terrible. Waited 1/2 hour and still did not get our food. We finally asked for a refund. Seems like drive thru and mobile orders took preference over walk ins. Said they were short handed - but only after other customers were complaining. I have stopped numerous times at this McD's, and only one time was the service good. They are consistently slow, get the orders wrong and cater more to the drive thru than walk in customers. Management and staff just doesn't care My truck can't fit through the drive thru so online is the only option. They rely on tourism for business because local people won't frequent this location. Absolutely Terrible! Me and my dad have a fairly basic order (10 piece nugget, and 2 cheeseburger meal, minus mustard and pickle). They were pretty fast but we also learned even faster why that was. They forgot 1 of our 2 French fries, Gave me 2 cheeseburgers one with only ketchup and a pickle, and one loaded with everything but onions. When we asked them to correct it the cashier stared at us and we showed him our receipt showing what they had messed up on. He then fixed it but it was still wrong, I received one burger with no onions and the other was good. I then was so disappointed in this place I accepted my fate and left. I don't typically eat McDonald's and really the only thing that works for me and my medical issues is an Egg McMuffin. That's ok if I am looking for breakfast and am there at breakfast time. I do stop for the Large Unsweetened Iced Tea. I have never had a problem. They have always given me unsweetened iced tea and that doesn't always happen at other places. One thing I have noticed each time I go through there and I often get my sister's unsweetened iced tea and she drinks it by the gallon from McDonald's. Mio and McDonald's ALWAYS has people who greet me with a smile and a nice comment like Have a nice day. They are all so kind, it has to cheer you up, if you're having a bad day. read more

We moved to Mio Michigan last summer... Don't go to McDonalds in Mio Michigan...If I could give it a negative rating I would! The owner needs to fire the day manager and staff!!! Was just there and ordered a large fry and the container was only half full and the fries were cold & stale tasting. My meal was so quickly put together that it wasn't correct. No fries were in my bag yet I ordered not one but TWO meals with them. The employee at the desk was rude, quiet, and in an entirely bad mood but I couldn't blame her, as her supervisor literally shouted at her for asking for a drink of water. The young employee was peaky, weak, and looked over-heated as it was blatantly apparent the air conditioning did not work. Meanwhile, the environment was filthy. Coworkers were passively bullying each other and the manager was a stuck up snob, as she watched a customer grab one of the arms of an employee walking by the table and did nothing about it. We were in town visiting my in-laws and retreated to McDonald's when we needed a break. Which means we were here twice in two days lol. I saw the other reviews and was hesitant, but there aren't really a ton of options for a quick escape in Fairview. It's like any other McDonald's. The food is the same and the service is the same, basically. The staff here seemed like grown ups instead of kids, which is usually better, and they were friendly and professional. There WAS a bit of a wait but I attribute that to the fact that they aren't very busy so they don't have food sitting around waiting to be ordered. The chicken nuggets we had were probably the hottest I've EVER had. Everything was made right then, which means you DO have to wait - for everything to be cooked. I don't mind waiting for that! And they will bring your food to the table for you, not make you stand around waiting for it. read more

I know this is a tourist town and this place is busy But, never should it take fifteen minutes to go through a McDonald's with five cars ahead of yours. Not just one time but multiple times I've had long waits through this drive through. When you do get to the window for just a coke after waiting, the drink will be there but no staff. I go to bigger town with more traffic at that McDonald's and never have the slow service of this place. Wish corporate could stop by someday any day of the week. read more

This evening June 21st about 6:10 I visited this McDonald's location. I redeemed a coupon from completing a survey from a prior visit at another store. I have done this many times. Today I was advised by the person at the window that the manager who helped this person complete my transaction with the coupon, ( I believe the person at the window was still being trained because when I placed my order and stated I had a survey coupon they didn't understand what I was talking about) said the survey was for a different store but she would accept it this time. I was surprised and the worker was embarrassed to have to repeat this to me. I confirmed through the website that the coupons are acceptable at any McDonalds location in the COUNTRY. Again, a perfect example of the poor leadership at this store. By default, this McDonalds received plenty of business since it's the only fast food option in town and the next nearest option is more than 15 miles away. The only food I repeatedly get from this store that is any good is breakfast and that can be iffy. All I wanted was to redeem my coupon for a sundae and was treated (2nd hand no less) as though I was imposing and this manager was doing me a favor. So wish another fast food option would open. If I could give this place a 0 star I would. This place is absolutely disgusting. The dishes in the back are gross the walls are gross. You can literally skate on the floors with the amount of grease that builds up on the floor. The employees do not wear gloves while handling fries or the hash browns. I've been told by an employee that they aren't required to wear gloves within the first hour of making sandwiches. The bathrooms are absolutely gross. I've witnessed employees leaving the restroom without washing their hands. This McDonald's isn't only dirty it is extremely slow. I've waited over a half an hour for my food to be cold and taste odd. The workers are rude and disrespectful to their co-workers and guests. Overall, will no longer spend my money here and I advise anyone reading this not to stop here. Once you call to inform them, they "wrote" down food missed and allow a week to pick up, go to pick it up, and not all food is there.. sooo once again, paying for food, I won't receive. I'm a McDonald's junkie so it might come as a surprise that I'm giving this one a lackluster review. It deserves it though. I've eaten at this McDonald's several times a week for the last two years as it's the only one within a reasonable distance. About six times out of ten the staff will mess up your order. Missing food, wrong food, wrong items on the food, etc. I'd give the place a worse review were it not for the friendly staff. They may not be able to make food properly over half of the time but they sure are friendly. A few of them really brighten my day when I stop in and are one of the few reasons I keep coming back. read more

Don't bother if you are in a over sized unit. While traveling in motorhome we stopped for a quick lunch and found ample parking at the back lot. As we entered we noticed a sign on the entry door that said "come in we are open".... I walked from the back lot to the front entry door it was locked. There was a computer printed note on the door that said the number to call for an order. I walked back to the back lot to get my cell phone and walked back to were there were visible menus and called. I placed the order and was told to meet them at the front door on the other side of the building. Now being well exercised and a bit aggravated I did as they asked and waited. A lady employee happen to walk up to the door to enter and I offered a suggestion to make it convent for those of us that don't fit the drive through. She started out with use the drive through, I told her we didn't fit, I asked about just walking up to the drive through ordering like we do at others, she said it was illegal. As my look expressed doubt she changed to it is a safety violation to walk through a drive up. I asked if it was more dangerous to walk up to one or for me to walk across all 3 lanes multiple times to place and order. It became apparent she didn't really care. My food at last came, I paid and again walked back across the 3 lanes and the parking lot to the motorhome. Oh and the fries were not just cold but stale. Final analysis, avoid the place, poor food, poor service, even the prices are not that great. read more

Worst McDonald's ever. Menus shows a picture of a platter of food that includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, and a biscuit. The caption reads " The Big Breakfast" and that's what I ordered for my son. I got a sausage, egg and cheese meal with large coffee. I also ordered three has hash browns on the side because my meal came with one, his didn't, and we each wanted two. The total cost was $19 and change. His meal was $5 and change, mine was $6.19. Seemed a little high but whatever. We pulled away, parked to eat, and his meal didn't have any pancakes, but we had FIVE hash browns. Went back through the drive through and the girl told me I had to order the "The Breakfast with Hot Cakes" to get the pancakes and I only ordered "The Big Breakfast." Um... because that's what it was called in the picture! And! The actual text menu (as opposed to the photo) only listed ONE TYPE of big breakfast. AND!! Apparently, the one we ordered was only $4.19. How the heck was my bill $19 and change? When I questioned this, the girl responded that she can't change how math works. Nice sarcastic response I could've lived without. I told her that wasn't the point and that I thought there was a mistake in the order but I couldn't verify it because they didn't give me a receipt. I wanted to go over the order again and she cut me off to tell me an order of pancakes would be three extra dollars. I just left. I wish I would've read the reviews beforehand. She was so rude. I returned in kind, waving goodbye with one finger as I drove past the window. Not proud of that. But I deserved a minute to review my order since they didn't give me a receipt. A couple of years ago I would have given this place a very low rating, but over the past year or so it has gotten much better. For two years straight, every time I ordered, they got my order wrong. I have not had that problem for the past couple of years though, and am much happier with this place. The food is almost always prepared as ordered, and tastes good. There are just a couple of complaints I have about the place. First complaint is that they stopped carrying root beer which is my preferred drink. Second, is that the shake machine seems to be broken down more often than working. With both root beer and milkshakes not being available, this eliminates two of the items that I would buy one or the other of nearly every time. This may not be a problem for others, but is disappointing to me. Other than that, I am very happy with McDonalds. read more

I give this McDonald's a one star because there isn't a no star option. They are the slowest fast food place I have ever been through. On a busy weekend at dinner time when the drive through is wrapped around the building we have seen them pull three cars over to the side and still have a long wait. It is the only drive through with an 25 miles of us and we have been stopping there since it opened. By the time we do get our food, if the order is right, it is stone cold. They are smart to take your money at the first window, if they were smarter they would take it at the microphone when you order.
